1. Uninstall Ledger Live
2. Restart your PC
3. Reinstall Ledger Live

If that didn't solve it, I suggest posting on Ledger's official subreddit[1]. Ledger's personnel(including their founders) are quite active in that subreddit so you're likely going to find the help you need. Just be careful to not immediately respond to private messages that are claiming to be Ledger personnel. Their moderators are conveniently listed on the sidebar.

Best of luck!

Posting additionals details might help them investigate the problem further. You can check the Event Viewer and see the crash report there.

Looks like the latest Windows update is causing some troubles other than breaking the printing device.

The Windows version is quite old, but I doubt that it has something to do with the 'age' of your OS...

Ledger live only works with 64-Bit version of Windows10, 2004 version must have a 32-bit version.
Check your PC if it's 32 or 64 Bit in "Search->System Information".

If not, consider upgrading by enabling "Windows Update", Ledger Live 2.5.0 works in my not-so-updated Window10 PC (2015).
Or pair it with Electrum (electrum.org) instead.

Or pair it with Electrum (electrum.org) instead.

I would like to warn that the latest Bitcoin app for Ledger doesn't work properly with the current Electrum (3.3.8 )
I had 2 days ago this same issue as described here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/gzeg09/nano_s_x_with_electrum/

Edit: it seems it's just a (scary) warning. The output address and fee are still verified on Ledger screen.

But is it a problem at all. What will happen if someone overlook those disturbing messages and send bitcoins using 3.3.8? I don’t think it’s gonna be a bad thing.
According to their reddit moderator, it is not an issue as it doesn't prevent you from spending your inputs via Electrum. You see those additional pieces of warnings on the screen of your hardware wallet but transactions can still be made.

Well, since you cannot check on Ledger the addresses before signing the transaction (afaik), I wouldn't treat it as lightly as "not an issue".
Of course, if one has a properly checked Electrum, it should not be an issue. But how many actually check it?

Edit: I will make a transaction as probably later today and I'll see more about this. First time I didn't proceed because of that screen.

Indeed, if one goes past the screen about unverified inputs, it checks properly the output(s) and the fee, so I agree, it's not an issue.
Now I start thinking why that scary message if there's actually no problem... ohwell...

Thank you mate. Deleting windows registry related ledger live help me. I don't have any problem with Windows 10 1909 version.

Hi folks, I can't open ledger live 2.5.0 in windows 10 2004. When I open application it crashed at launch, I install Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable it doesn't help me.

If anyone having same issue and able to fix it then share your experience in the comment.

I have experienced the same trouble as OP when was  trying to install 2.4.1 LL on Win10, 1909 whereas 2004  made the best of a bad situation. 2.5.0 solved  the issue for both 1909 and 2004. I have noticed   there were some alterations in Windows registry during the installation. Probably OP should uninstall old LL, delete all relevant entries in Windows registry and try to install the new 2.5.0. All my toils  are described in nine posts of that thread - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5241444.msg54565796#msg54565796

Hey mate which software did you use to collect windows registry files?

What I did to solve problem, step by step:
1. Install fresh Windows 10 2004 using Vmware workstation pro 15( Virtual Machine windows)
2. Install Blue Project SysTracer Pro software to capture fresh Windows registry and other files.
3. I Install Ledger Live new version and it crashed at launch.
4. Again I open Blue Project SysTracer Pro software to capture Ledger live installation files and registry. Compare step 2 files
and step 4.
5. Looking that compare files I know exact ledger live registry files location and files installation location.
6. I open regedit in my original host windows machine and delete everything related to ledger live software.
7.Install fresh ledger live software again and  it's working Smiley

No probs, I'm just glad it helped put that issue away,  have myself  been through  dismay at Ledger Live  when it has refused to launch after installation. After several attempts I accidentally recollected about Windows registry, specifically that it can be cluttered with interfering records   that prevent programs from proper run and decided to supervise it during my last installation, and that's exactly what I found.

Yes Mate, SysTracer Pro it has  advanced functionality such as exporting & importing snapshots. It's very useful to compare snapshots taken on various pcs.

You did the right thing to find the snag. To watch for the changing in registry I'm using the same SysTrace but its ordinary version, not pro. Probably the pro is more advanced but the ordinary one is a bit cheaper and  what it has  is enough for me. Again, happy  it all worked out.

Had the same issue and the PC took lot of time to restart. The issue got solved after deleting the folders as I had already uninstalled it. Now facing another issue with the display. Couldn't even enter the code properly and they said you have 2 attempts left.

I am bit confused here, Are you talking about software (ledger live 2.5 or 2.6) or hardware (ledger nano s/x) issue? It seems like you are having issue with your device pin code. Are you sure you are entering your correct device pin code? Please follow guidance by ledger support.

1.After three incorrect PIN code entries, Ledger hardware wallets reset to factory settings, erasing the private keys from their secure storage.
2.After the reset, simply restore the device from your 24-word recovery phrase.
3.Choose a new PIN code during the restoration process.

Note: MAKE SURE YOU GOT YOUR 24-WORD RECOVERY PHRASES

Hardware. The display has an invisible line which is why I can't see the numbers like 1 and 4. Hence, I entered the pin code wrong 2 times and third time it was right. I contacted them and they replied. They may want to replace the device but since it's lockdown now, I don't want to be without my device for months.

It's great that Ledger wants to replace your device. Make sure you reset your device before sending them back. If you struggle to reset your device just enter your pin for 3 times it will reset automatically.

I am not sure, why you can't wait to get replace new device. You don't have to move your fund to another device, just keep your 24 word seeds safely. when you get new device you can recover your previous wallet fund.

I contacted them and they replied. They may want to replace the device but since it's lockdown now

It's great that Ledger wants to replace your device. Make sure you reset your device before sending them back. If you struggle to reset your device just enter your pin for 3 times it will reset automatically.

I don't want to be without my device for months.

I am not sure, why you can't wait to get replace new device. You don't have to move your fund to another device, just keep your 24 word seeds safely. when you get new device you can recover your previous wallet fund.

I live in India which is currently under lockdown so shipping from a foreign country will take months. Also, they haven't said they want to replace it. They just contacted from the shipping department and said they want the invoice which I am trying to get from the company that gifted me the device (I got it a as a gift). I'll see what to do.
