For our Canadian bros, just a heads up that working on a digital currency doesn't automatically mean you're going to work on a cryptocurrency. A digital currency can exist without being a cryptocurrency or without using blockchain. None of both are mentioned in the article in the first place. Just to hopefully prevent some disappointments.

Exactly. In the process we all have started calling bitcoin and alts as digital currencies but they are crypto currencies. Of course they have digital presence and that's why the terminology is being mixed up now a days. However, fiat being used via net banking, wire transfers, UPI's etc is also digital currency I believe.
From your quote, contingent system for a central bank digital currency (CBDC), which can be thought of as a banknote, but in digital form. I think it is clear when they mentioned it as a " banknote but in digital form". Could be just internal tokenized system design.

First China, next was Europe and now here's Canada. There's already a hint that they'll be working for their CBDC for 3 years or more of it a bit. Good luck for those who will try to apply who are also part of the forum.

My excitement reduced when I saw this The Bank of Canada is embarking on a program of major social significance to design a contingent system for a central bank digital currency (CBDC), which can be thought of as a banknote, but in digital form. Digital currency doesn't mean it's cryptocurrency, there's no mention of the word in that article. So, anyone applying shouldn't not have it in mind for working on a crypto project, just creating "banknote" in form of digital. This banks won't embrace this crypto/blockchain tech just like that.

Yeah some might find the term Central Banking Digital Currency confusing, even me at first I thought it was a complete process of adopting the cryptocurrency in the present banking system but then I just found out that it was not necessary. If none mentioned any of a cryptocurrency or blockchain in the article then I'm sure they are not into it, they are just transitioning fiat into digital currency. But today I've read Thailand is designing their CBDC too, fortunately they mentioned the blockchain

Now it is clear to us some government are not really into crypto adoption apart from what our beliefs on it. CBDC does not have necessarily to be crypto, well that's a sad fact but there are some that is containing crypto. Tokenization is really happening, I've read there are some trials on this in Russia and China where we expected the crypto to arise. However I understand what the canada is trying to do. We all should be grateful coz it is still part of digitalization isn't it?

It is working for a digital currency, right? In my thought at first, it would be the Bank of Canada will hire someone for making cryptocurrency. I think that it will be such for creating their own cryptocurrency by the bank of Canada. But if it is about the digital currency project manager, I think that it is very normal to do on their own. Their career opportunities can be good for those who concern with their study or knowledge of the currency, economics, and the ability related to the digital currency. But, it is not about the crypto enthusiasts because they do not need such a person with crypto knowledge. I think that digital currency in a country has been popular enough for most countries. It is different with cryptocurrency. they may not use the blockchain technology.

Ahh, well the world never ceases to amaze us with surprises. It will be interesting to see how things turn with regards to this and that is if they are going to develop any cryptocurrencies even though this is not stated clearly in the article. But I will not be surprised at all if they end up developing a cryptocurrency which will be a centralized one for the country.

Yeah I don't think this necessarily has anything to do with cryptocurrency but I also wouldn't be surprised if they were.
As an investment advisor and having worked in finance for over a decade now, I have seen countless finance companies I've worked for and the like adding cryptocurrency teams of some sort. They would be crazy not to, they all know the future is very plausible and do not want to be left behind.

They can call it Mintchip 2.0. I predict it'll have a similar longevity to its predecessor, assuming it even gets off the ground.

For our Canadians crypto enthusiast, , Bank of Canada surprisingly posted a job on their website looking for: They are going to have a digital currency of CBDC, but not stated as a cryptocurrency. Although cryptocurrency may be related to the digital currency, I don't think that in this case, they are going for the cryptocurrency. We can also see how they need the specification and qualifications of career opportunities. they do not say about the knowledge or professional or experienced in cryptocurrency or even blockchain as the basic technology for cryptocurrency. However, if you are a crypto enthusiast and a professional in the field that matches the bank's qualifications, there is no harm in entering a job application. You might get a chance to have a career at the bank. Moreover, if you have succeeded, you can make an offer about the withdrawal of cryptocurrency connected to the central bank. Maybe this will not be easy because it is related to regulation, but who knows the future?

Slowly the world will shift into digital currency and bank will lead that with the support of the government as they are monitored and supervised by the central bank. However, we need not to be excited yet as digital currency has many forms, we are in the cryptocurrency and there's no statement in the link provided that it's related to cryptocurrency, maybe in the future but we don't know yet.

Does CDBC have anything to do with cryptocurrencies? It is just a digital picture of the Canadian dollar and therefore we cannot consider it as a cryptocurrency. Many countries are heading for such policies, especially China, where the new currency is supposed to work this year. Many countries may discuss the future prospects for such digital currencies. contingent system for a central bank digital currency (CBDC), which can be thought of as a banknote, but in digital form We are moving to an intermediate stage where everything is digital but completely central. I hope we will witness the acceleration of distributed networks, and then the transformation of the decentralized image.
