This is the token of popular defi Compound Finance. They have a total supply of 10M coins if you meant that.
This is a new coin and they are awarding it to the users of compound finance dapp. I don't have exact idea about what features the coin holders would enjoy but they say it to be the governance token that would allow COMP token-holders and their delegates debate, propose, and vote on changes to the protocol.

I was shocked to see this COMPOUND token surge over 200$ today, i think it's too late investing right now until dump takes over, buying right now will be suicide, I will wait for dump and take advantage, I'm positive about DeFi projects

Yeah it is seriously going insane. The coin is launched just three days ago with the opening cost per coin of $64.00 and now rose by 131% yesterday and 51% today. I guess this could be initial investments made by fan base and also some governing people.

This is way to risky to invest at this stage since it as already gone up by 95% since the time of launch price. Usually you do have chance when projects are just launched and people are trying to get QUICK bucks. But I guess its 50-50 chance at this stage.

I tried finding the news about it but seems hard luck.

I am also waiting if someone update with solid proof of this project.

Maybe you can ask the team in their Telegram group if they have any, i also saw some people talking about it in a telegram group am part of, it was such a big rise at this time where many project are not doing very well, to think that comp was as high as $231 and now correct back to $197 at current price is really surprising, although it has very small supply, total supply is 10 million out of which 2.6 million is in circulation, I guess because it is a decentralize finance project is the reason why there is much interest.
@op you can do your research and understand the project more better to know why the price has risen so much all of a sudden.

If you are looking for the newest eye catching crypto project in 2020 it's decentralized Finance ( DeFi ), all eye are on DeFi projects, people are rushing to buy them, investors are more attracted to these projects, yes it's a good buy but can't advice you to buy while price is surging

Looks like the project has been trading for less than a week, so most probably the prices are pumped up by the early investors. Whether its worth to invest? I wouldn't pay such a high-price for it. But it's up to you to do your own research before planning to invest in it.

I was also quite surprised with this project, this is a new project but it quickly went into the top 24 coinmarketcap. Obviously this is a big project this year, Btw I don't know what its initial price. Looking at coinmarketcap I see they have increased 112% compared to the original price

FOMO works for the Defi projects, it started with synthetix network months ago.

it will be dumped soon, but its got to go up still after the dump. investors prefer to invest the defi projects right now than the once we thought are years ago. you'd be left behind if you keep bagging the old coins. new technology is rising.

That is right compound token started growing up, but none can predict what will happen after many weeks. Maybe it can start dumping again, because of that it is not the best time to invest in the compound token. It can be more profitable to wait for price dumping, the price of Compound rose up 53.51% up. It is really great movement for this token.

I just heard about this COMPOUND token and it costs around $ 221.84 now. If converted then in the last 24 hours this coin has increased by 56% and may still continue. yes, I think you are right if investing When high prices are not a good decision, it will only make you suffer losses after this big pump.

If you are referring to total supply which I think you are because most of the times it can still be called maximum supply; hence the total supply is 10,000,000 COMP while the circulating supply is 2,561,279 COMP, it is right there on the coinmarketcap website. Also, as to the reason why a coin will increase massively can be attributed to the news or event the team bears which could be a platform upgrade, mainnet, new partnership, achieving a major milestone, endorsements, new exchange listing and it goes on. So one or more of these can make a coin to increase massively in price.

Hell yes since it's a decentralize finance project but buying when pump is on will be a huge mistake, take your time because it's certain that price will drop later, wait it out and see for yourself, don't ever buy coins when they are surging

This depends on how the project "Compound" performs going forward now. I expect the pump to continue until the hype die down and there would then be a price delivery but what it is of concern to me is that people value this project higher than MakeDAO

It's indeed the rave of the moment, didn't even notice it, not until I saw people screaming,and the price keeps increasing, I only know it's a defi project, but investing now might be good or bad but just watch and follow up for a retrace then you can invest in it.

CMC has just listed it like couple of days ago and it is booming really well after that, the main reason is that it is seen as a good solution against the existing crypto finance or banking platforms because compound is a decentralized platform and people are expecting that they will not see the blunders they have seen in some of the centralized projects, secondly, i will also suggest community to not get into FOMO just wait for a good entry if you want to buy and hold compound.

The price is almost equal to what Ethereum is right now so i would definitely not buy now at these prices, yes the project looks good and exciting but it is just one small project even Eth network can offer these services within their network with small scale coding and programming, personally its shocking to see this price tag for compound and it reminds me of last bull run where many coins had unrealistic values, i am not against this project, i fully support it but the price seems overvalued to me to be realistic.

There is nothing wrong in wanting to invest in compound coin, its a defi and working absolutely fine with a good price too.
But this is a wrong time to invest in compound coin because it has experienced a huge pump and also close to its ath.

COMPOUND DEFI Project is good enough but what's most important is the timing, this is not the right time to jump in, wait for price dump before buying, it will surely happen again since it's volatile, have patience and track price
