I used to see a lot of statistics on merits and most of them are interesting. But no one come with a statistics to find out which board are lack of merits and where distribution isn't proportionally low. In my local thread (no local board), there is lack of enough merit distribution. Lack of quality posts may be a reason but if people do high quality posts (some users do sometimes), no one is there to merit them. I'm talking about Bengali local thread- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.0Can someone posts below details from this thread- 1. Total number of unique users got merited- 62 2. Total number of posts got merited- 103 3. Total number of unique merit senders- 46 4. Most merit received (User, post) 5. Most merit sender And some more if you have in your mind. There you have it OP. Few minutes and LoyceV granted your wish. Or specifically just ask the Geniuses @DdmrDdmr @LoyceV
I think no need to ask, LoyceV is very generous and has initiative. ~snip
That was fast. You are really one of the dependable users here in forum regarding statistic. Here everyone loves you act so fast for some request. I think OP should locked the thread now unless you have some additional request.

Thank you LoyceV, you are faster than anyone.
Have anyone looked at the most merited posts? Most of the merits come from other local users or global users like LoyceV, fillippone, YOSHIE, Murat, Ddmrddmr. They merited on some translated topics. Most merit senders are from local. Little Mouse and BitcoinDream have sent the most but not enough. On the other hands, most of them are inactive. Now, what do you think? Our local thread has only 103 quality posts only since Jan 2018? I think it has more quality posts within this time but due to lack of merit distributor, they didn't get merited. There's lacking of enough merit senders. I agree that the number of quality posts are low but that doesn't mean it is too low to receive such low amount of merits. It deserves more merits. What's the solution of this? The thread creator can be a merit source if applied but he is not enough active although after couple of days or after a month he deletes the spam. I appreciate his effort. We need more merit senders which may also encourage users to post high quality.
Edit- LoyceV are you a bot? I know you were too good on such data providing but this is way more than expected. Thank you very much.

Since your specific Bengali request has already been covered, I’ll address the more generic request stated in the first part of your post. Here you can see the Merit/Post for all local boards (those that do have a local board, but not those that have a single language thread instead), aside from other conventional boards: https://public.tableau.com/views/BitcointalkMeritDashboard/MeritperPost?:language=es&:display_count=y&:origin=viz_share_linkhttps://public.tableau.com/views/BitcointalkMeritDashboard/MeritperPostIIChart?:language=es&:display_count=y&:origin=viz_share_linkFine, that gives us some numbers, which are interesting per se, and allow for the comparison between boards. Unfortunately, they can be somehow indicative of a lack or a low merit distribution, but they cannot speak of the reasons, and the reasons are precisely what gives context to the numbers. For example, the numbers there do not necessarily display: - The degree of interest/quality that the posts actually raise. - Whether the merits given "correspond" to that degree. - Whether the merits been awarded are concentrated from a Sender/Receiver point of view. - How many posts go unmerited when they should opt to being merited. - And so forth. That’s to say, there are some numerical dimensions that can help find undermerited boards, but it’s the qualitive angle that can certify whether the numbers are showing anything meaningful. Undermerited boards should, in my opinion, always shout out by listing multiple un/under merited posts, and drawing attention to a hopfully long list that supports the case.

Now, what do you think? Our local thread has only 103 quality posts only since Jan 2018? I think it has more quality posts within this time but due to lack of merit distributor, they didn't get merited. The obvious problem is the language: not many users can read it, and if the local users don't "bring in" Merit earned on other boards, the local board won't get much. I sometimes Merit local boards using Google translate, but only if I end up there for a reason. I'm not going to search for posts in a language I can't read. The easiest way to improve Merit distribution, is when a local user becomes a Merit source.

It's not possible to merit language which you didn't understand. I remember to see a merited post long ago by you may be or another user non Bengali, which was not merit worthy. My best guess was because of misunderstanding. But sending merit has no fix standard. May be it was not merit worthy to me. The easiest way to improve Merit distribution, is when a local user becomes a Merit source.
BitcoinDream is not active all time. I think merit source has to be active. Among top merit senders, mdayonliner is also not active. So, Little Mouse is the best remaining option but he has some problem with reputation. I can apply for merit source but I doubt my rank would be good one to apply for be a merit source.

Or specifically just ask the Geniuses @DdmrDdmr @LoyceV
That's what I was going to recommend, but it looks like they're on it already. OP, has the Bengali section had a member who's applied to be a merit source--or is there someone who frequents that section who already is one? Maybe somebody needs to step up and apply for the good of that community. Just thinking out loud here. I'm pretty sure there are a few local boards where members are going under-merited, but I haven't heard many complaints lately except from the Turkish section. I sometimes Merit local boards using Google translate
Wow, you're a better person than I am. No way would I trust google translate to help me understand whether a post is deserving of merit or not. Not to mention that the post could still be plagiarized.

After your post I went to our local thread and I went through to all 238 pages for finding the merited posts. I found the 1st post on 116 no page of the thread. It's so annoying to see that most of the posts are spam. I have collected all the links of the merited posts you can find it below. After going through all the 238 pages I think we need an active moderator for the thread more than an active merit source. Till now there is 4744 posts and I can surely say more than 3000 posts are spam. For like: 1. Good morning, good night evening etc. 2. Hi, how are you? 3. Hi , I'm from this city where are you from? Any body from "x" city? 4. I'm new to this forum how can I earn from here!! Bla bla... I think we need someone to remove those posts. If there is any chance i wish to be a moderator of that thread for 7days and I will remove all those posts for sure. (Let me know if there is any system available) Yes, I saw many good posts which were not merited so we also need a merit source but mostly we need a good active moderator. Hope we will get both. Here is the links of all the posts. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg33892261#msg33892261 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg34257356#msg34257356 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg39518602#msg39518602 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg39695262#msg39695262 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg39740404#msg39740404 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg39518602#msg39518602 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg40066015#msg40066015 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg41556008#msg41556008 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg41568933#msg41568933 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg43307578#msg43307578 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg43368411#msg43368411 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg43379329#msg43379329 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg43459812#msg43459812 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg43891989#msg43891989 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg43895413#msg43895413 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg44316281#msg44316281 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg44864181#msg44864181 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg44914748#msg44914748 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg45819842#msg45819842 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg45820412#msg45820412 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg45826908#msg45826908 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg46032123#msg46032123 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg46208712#msg46208712 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg46594950#msg46594950 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg46855046#msg46855046 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg47693674#msg47693674 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg47722049#msg47722049 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg47722049#msg47722049 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg48007281#msg48007281 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg48158013#msg48158013 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg49336386#msg49336386 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg49942630#msg49942630 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg50495905#msg50495905 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg50523317#msg50523317 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg50795041#msg50795041 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg51089213#msg51089213 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg51180836#msg51180836 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg51194978#msg51194978 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg51209948#msg51209948 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg51286415#msg51286415 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg51289995#msg51289995 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg51486423#msg51486423 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg51693884#msg51693884 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg52012316#msg52012316 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg52160388#msg52160388 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg52241518#msg52241518

Are there more than 3000 spam posts? It is a good opportunity for you to practice reporting bad/ spam posts. Believe me, if what you said is correct and you actually report those 3000 posts, you will move to the top reporters. At least in 2020 top reporters. Let it be anonymous, just give us the numbers of those between 1 and 300 reports, those with reports from 300 to 1000, from 1000 to 2000, 2k to 3k, 3k to 5k and above 5k, or something like this. Counts of members with good reports in the last year: 1-10: 5028 10-25: 399 25-50: 179 50-100: 82 100-200: 90 300-400: 35 400-500: 14 500-750: 20 750-1000: 12 1000-1500: 15 1500-2000: 7 2000-3000: 5 3000-5000: 5 >5000: 8 Thanks to all reporters; we couldn't do it without you!

Thanks for the information. I'm reporting the new posts which are spam. Will try to start reporting the older posts too. Have a lot of free time in this lockdown. Thanks for the motivation.

I am not so sure that it makes much sense to report spam posts that are few years old. There are plenty of new spam posts created every day that are reported, so if you report posts made in 2015/2016/2017 it will just put some extra pressure on mods, that are already swamped with new reports. Might be the best to simply focus on recent and new posts, and if you really have a lot of free time and want to keep reporting spam, you might check some other boards too.

A great suggestion. Yes I think it will create a pressure to the mods so I'm cancelling that idea. It will be good for us if I use that time to report the recent shit posts. Thanks for your idea.
