Remember Satoshi Dice? I remember this game blew my mind years ago when i first played it.
But recently I've been wondering are they truly "provably fair" as they claim to be?

https://satoshidice.com/fair

The seed's hash is provided and they show that the seed value is random but I haven't been able to make the connection that the seed is actually being used for the dice roll..

Is SD truly a provably fair game?

Why don't you come back with your main alt and ask the same question?  All casinos listed here have been discussed and turned inside out at one point or another, so if there was an issue, it would have been discussed already.

I'd suggest you have a look for some old threads on the subject.

Seems like they are Provably fair as per the information provided on the website. I am not sure what connection you are talking about! Can you please explain your confusion?

Also you can go to their ANN thread to ask this question,

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=77870.0

Probably someone from the casino can clear out your confusion there. Or you may connect to this person directly,

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=116564

Hope this helps!

Although I have used the service you mentioned for a very long time and received all my payments without any problems, I never believe it is fair. Especially in games where the loss rate was very low, it did not make any sense to mine mine from the first choice when the mines burst early or when we increased the earnings rate a little. In fact, even when I was playing a single-mine game, it was almost always mine that came out of the box that I first clicked. So, I think this game is actually not fair at the time, and the case always wins.

why not ? you said you got your payments . that means they are paying  , you withdrewed because you win on their games   . being fair does not means you can withdew but its also about how thier game works .

loss rate can depend on your chosen settings like if how many mines you choose or what is the risk you choose   .  low risk or lower mines is equals to lower chance of loosing but this does not mean that you cant catch the mine and not loosing  throughout the game  . you can loss at your first try too .

I believe BitcoinTurk is talking about the provably fair stuff since he explained why he thinks the site is not fair.

Well, it feels odd when we set the game at a low-risk setup and find ourselves stumbling on mine several time in our first click.  And I would love to know if there is a seed generated on this kind of game so that we are able to check if it is really provably fair.

In most feedbacks its verifiable but here are some threads that do connects this gambling site to some scam accusations which would really hesitate me for me to use them.

In terms of the site's fairness I think they're still fair because if not it would be damaging to the site. It's probably best to forward the question via their support's email since the main thread is inactive.

Also some of those accusations could be related to the other owners that manages Megadice as Satoshidice changed ownership twice.

I agree with you, I don't find anywhere on the website where they say what algorithm they use to generate the dice roll number...  Undecided
So I don't understand how the players can check if the roll number is right or not. Thus, the game is maybe fair, but currently it isn't provably fair.

Yes, most of the game especially if it is a gambling platform would not be fair unless if it is online your betting with someone else that is online too and that would get you high percentage of winning 50/50%.

However, there are games that will let you win depending on your strategy and the demand for that game. If there are lot of players that made some losses then playing it would be at great advantage for one.could.have higher chances of winning. Betting games gives you 40/60% chance of winning and if there are losses in the previous players had made then probably you can have the higher chance of winning and that is only based on my presumption.

This is how I play I let other loss the games they play then I bet after them plying. It works as i can win confidently in the betting games.

No, odds to win and house edge have nothing to do with the provably fairness of the game.
All jackpots have very low odds, it doesn't mean they aren't fair.
The provably fairness is the ability to prove the house is not cheating you or has no way to do it. By providing the house seed hash before the beginning of the game, the house can't change its seed depending on the player's bet.
But if the house doesn't explain how it computes the roll number from the seed, the player can't check there is no cheating.

Opinions of random shitposters are not an evidence. They are not gambling their own money.
I don't find anywhere how the roll numbers are derived from the seeds. The algorithm should be provided on their website or in the OP of their official thread.
As of now, players can't check if they're cheated or not.
