[LEARN] Website with free hosting and domain.

Some of the people today want to create their website with their very own and help the forum but the problem is it is hard to found out some platform that provides you with a hosting and domain. Today I would like you to share my knowledge and what are the things needed so you can show your projects and share to our forum.

Recently, I made a game which is called as [GAME] Bitcointalk game one my struggle at the start is I just know how to make a game with the use of programming language but most of the members recommended to create a website for this so the members avoiding downloading the file.

In my first start, I need to learn with the use of HTML, CSS and javascript, so where you can learn this too? Here at w3school. Also, you can learn with other online platforms or courses in Codecademy and udemy.

Now we will direct to the main topic, I assume that you already made your file or the Html and the only we need to do is to upload.

What is netlify?

Netlify is a cloud computing company that offers web hosting and serverless backend to static webpages.

Now you see I already deployed to kind of static website first is the manual deploy and the GitHub deploy.
We just focus in manual deploy just drag the file here on the down portion or the highlighted box.

After you drag your html folder you will automatically direct to the overview to publish your website. It takes time, just wait.

Now, this is the default link of your website, if you want to get your personal domain, you need to pay for it, but just wanting to share our project on the forum default is enough. This is your link now.

How about if you want to update your website, simply just drag the updated file here.

Now you can share your truly yours website with free hosting and domain.

Ps. I'm not promoting those platform I just want to share my knowledge so the people who are skilled on web developing can share their projects and suggest good contents on our forum.

Btw, this is for HTML/JS/CSS websites only. They do not support NodeJs, PHP, GO or any other "server-side language" (at least not for free). But if you have static websites or something made with Angular/React, it's great.

I remember that in the past I used something similar,  free hosting and domain service with website builder.
Of course this free service came with very little support and a lot problems and soon I had no choice but to move to their paid service.
Also,  many times website was offline and I couldn't access cp.
So,  free service is not helpful as you may think.

Free domains are expensive if you achieve any success. That looks like a sub-domain as well, so all traffic you get belongs to the hosting supplier. Domain names are so cheap, that you should start your project with a name you have registered with a different registrar, and not your hosting company.

You can already buy domains using BTC today.  .info extension cost about $1 as far as I know but there are free hosting available already but only with about 100mb.
Most websites today are created with just the sofaliscious in the panel. It becomes easy with CMS these days.

But if you have static websites or something made with Angular/React, it's great.

Angular/React is one of the most efficient to use nowadays but still, it is better if they learn to the basic because most of the components to build the responsive web pages are still on the syntax of HTML. Angular/React is a good framework for web development but still for newbies I highly recommended to use the HTML, CSS and js first. To members curious how does it work and want to build Angular/React you can visit the ionic framework Ionic documentation.

The netlify are offering too with their extensions but still for a beginner or a newbie does not have budget for a meantime we can use the free domains also it is just for sharing beta projects before the final output that is required to have their domains which is pretty good if you have your own.

If you want to host a WordPress website for free then you can use Amazon cloud and Google cloud hosting service for free but only for one year. You do need to buy a domain name using Bitcoin which you can get it using Namecheap.

The worst thing that can happen when using a free domain and free hosting is when you already created a great stuffs and contents and they take it down without a notification that they are going to take it down, because they can do it in their TOS, better buy your own domain and subscribe to a paid subscription.
