Couple of days ago, I was looking for some statistical data on merits on Bengali local thread. Thank you LoyceV for that data. Now, I would like to compare some data with other local boards. DdmrDdmr has shared all the required data with me. The purpose of this thread is to visualize Bengali Local Thread is lacking of enough merit senders which is being a resistance to the profile rank up who is active in local thread. With delivering necessary merits, we may increase the quality of the post in local thread. Please be noted that- first number represent frequency of the local board and second number represent the percentage of that local board.Total Distributed MeritsTotal Number of distributed merits in local board is 205252 but the total amount of merit distributed in Bengali thread is 163 only. It's less than 1% where the total number of local boards/thread has been divided by 23. Other languages include all the other local threads who don't have a separate board, Bengali is excluded from other languages. Total Unique SendersTotal Unique merit senders in local boards are 9883 but it' only 46 in Bengali which is again less than 1%. Total Merit ReceiversOut of 12334 receivers in local boards, Bengali thread has 62 receivers who received 163 merits. Average merits per receiver is 2.63 merits but in other local boards, average is 16.71 (Excluded Bengali) merits per user. This is a privilege for other local users that they have enough supply of merits but in Bengali thread, the merit receivers are high but not enough supply. Total Posts Received MeritsIn local boards, 74926 posts have been merited. In Bengali thread, 103 posts have been merited. Average merits per post in Local boards (Excluded Bengali) is 2.74 merits but in Bengali thread, it's 1.58 merits per post.Total Merit TXIn local boards(Excluded Bengali), 205089 merits have been distributed in 118664 tx which indicates an average of 1.73 merits per tx. But in Bengali thread, the average is 1.28 which is far below from the average. Limitation: Data is from 19/06/20Share your opinion if you think Bengali thread require more supply of merits.

Good data, but the colour difference used to note different local board is poor, some look so much alike. The low merit on the Bengali thread can be because of the activities going on,if increased activities and more constructive and merit deserving post continues it would increase the amount of merit in there, it's too early to start comparing

Due to the low traffic, very few people knew about crypto, and this forum the same as in Pakistani thread. We have very few people who have good merits and I don't think we even have a merit source. We need good traffic in our threads, teach our newcomers and make our community strong so we can get our separate boards. From where I believe we can get talent and more merit distribution activities.

Interesting topic but there are some mistakes in the graphs. They all show percent (%). From what you present, they are number for frequency and count (total distributed merits, total senders, total receivers, total merit tx) and are not percentages.

I don't know if it's just me but I find something weird about your percentages and hard to see the clear picture/interpret with the figures you put up there in the graph. Why don't you calculate percentage the normal way, where it can't be more than 100%

Both are presented there. The left side amount is total frequency and the right side is the percentage. I have presented both. Why don't you calculate percentage the normal way, where it can't be more than 100%
You have missed the data presentation. Like I said above, both data have been presented. Percentage can't be above 100 and it is not.

The percentage are indicated beside the total frequency of the merit per board, yet it is quite unreadable especially in the fields that are compressed and close enough, making the text overlap each other. And his thread's (statistical) data came from LoyceV and DdmrDdmr from their threads about merits and smerits and it's frequency on local boards.
Share your opinion if you think Bengali thread require more supply of merits.
If you would read recent posts here in the Meta section ( Meriting: local boards posters vs rest of boards posters), you'll see set of arguments pertaining if merits are being abused in local boards or not. And with the posts of other users and even myself, Local board meriting is not that bad as long as you have your point and your posts were good enough. If you want other users to be merited in your local board, better have some links that you think deserve one and update those links here in your main thread. And you can apply as merit source as well if and only if you also deserve to be one.

There is no note on it in OP, in text or on graphs. You should add notes, in text or on graphs. IMO, you mess graphs up with the combinations of frequency and percent.

This is very much common in my local to present such data and data lebel. I don't know why you think it's a mess. It's pretty much understandable IMO. These are already available here- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5257102.msg54658976#msg54658976If you need more stats, you can contact with LoyceV or DdmrDdmr. I think the threads are kinda messed up in the Bengali section. I visit there daily but the discussions on crypto should go beyond just speculation. But it's very difficult to achieve it all under one thread just. As the people who speaks this language are diverse (it's a major language of India and the official language of Bangladesh), hence it's necessary to make uniform topics unitedly as many topics as well are very similar when created.

My point is the way you presented the values, Just like a dot, a comma is also used as a decimal separator in some countries and when one who's used to using commas a decimal separator sees the graphs like me, It automatically looks like one value. It got me so confused infact For example 163,0% can be interpreted as 163.0%, 11771,16% can be interpreted as 11771.16%. I hope you understand what I am trying to see

When you compare two or more components of a single thing, the percentage can never be more than 100%. If you have closer look, you can see that I have written the name of data lebel only for Bengali. For example- Bengali, 163, 0%. Would you say that Bengali163.0%? I'm kidding. In my local, we denote the fraction as dot. Like- 1.63%.

As I commented, you mess it up, and without notes about what is frequency, what is percentage. Do you think of using two graphs, one for frequency and one for percentage.
It is because you like to use graphs. Even you split them into two graphs, it will still be messed up.
It is best if you use tables because there are many boards. People can clearly read both frequency and percentage.
If you make graph for 5 to 7 boards, graph looks better - but you should still consider about note on statistic format (statistics on graph are Frequency, Percent %).
With graphs, there is problem with color. How people can know which nation is displayed on graph with 3 nations: Germany, Japanese, and Romanian. Their colors look very similar, orange (standard orange, dark orange, light orange). And can not get their figures from the graph.
If you want to show only frequency and percentage for Bengali board, the graphs looks better but I would like to use tables. Take a screenshot of your excel sheet, you will present data better.
Because you are so confident with your data presentation so I will not comment more. It is the last one.

Bengali Local Thread is lacking of enough merit senders due to lack of high ranked members. 99% members of Bengali Local Thread are busy with Bounty activities. They are not worried about their rank up.

Bengali local Board have crossed 213 pages and 4260 posts. Among them only 5 posts are found useful by BitCoinDream (creator of Bangladesh local board) and he sticks these post on the OP, বাংলাদেশ (Bangladesh). This is not necessarily true. If you take meta for example, there are a few hundreds or thousand of threads are high quality and deserve to be pinned but that does not mean that you should pin them all. In the same way, there are a lot of quality post in Bengali thread but that does not mean each of the posts should be linked in the OP although there are some post which must be linked. Check the whole thread and you will find.

They are not worried about their rank up.
That should not be an explanation. We have way to increase merit supply in certain board by getting merit sources. There are some people who I know from our local who have posted a lot of helpful and quality posts and they deserve to be ranked up but yet to rank due to lack of enough smerit supply. I have to agree that before 2019, most of the posts are spam but in recent time, if you check you will see that there are some users who are very helpful and providing high quality posts.

They are not worried about their rank up. I am surprised that despite being Bengali you have grossly misrepresented what BitCoinDream has stated in OP. He never stated that only 5 posts are useful in the thread. Those were stickied because those are detailed post, which will be helpful to newbies. There are 6 posts stickied in Meta. Does it mean theymos has found all others posts to be useless? Regarding spam posts on the thread, 871 posts by 133 users have so far been deleted BitCoinDream. You can still report any other post, if you think they are spam. Those will be taken care of by Global Moderators. Share your opinion if you think Bengali thread require more supply of merits.

I am just looking at Open Merit Source Applications waiting list. There are currently 9 active merit applications, and from what I can see, none of them are from members that are active in Bangladeshi thread. Since getting merit source is the best long term solution to increase merit allocation for your community, why don't you choose among yourself someone that will apply for that position? Preferably someone with good reputation and merit history, to increase chances of getting a merit source. It may take while before you get one, but you gotta make first step sometimes. In the meantime, what you can do is to gather good posts from your board and once in a while share them in [self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source. Even better, that can be done by the person that will apply for merit source.
Since I am generally interested in local boards, I checked your post and merit thread activity during August. If I counted properly, in the period between August 1st and August 31, 127 posts were written and 9 merits were sent. That makes an average 0.07 merit per post, and that is way below average, if we compare Bengali with other languages that have their own local boards. Here you can see other local boards activity in that period and check how Bengali compares to them. If we look strictly at the post count, yours is more active than quite a few of those with local boards, so I might include it in the monthly overview, just to see how it compares to others.
