Interested in "research tree" gaming?

I've been playing them for three decades now.  I love games with research trees, and I've always wanted to build one.  A long multiplayer game (a year or so) following humanity's research.

I looked around for any open source trees, and there are none - each game builds it's own.

I'd be interested if it is a game that I can participate in and keep me out of boredom. When are you planning to release it?
