As far as I know there's still no actual news pertaining that they would buy/sell Bitcoin in their platform. We don't even know if they will really accept Bitcoin all together. What are this new "proof"? I might be missing something here. I've only heard that they are planning to hire/hiring people with crypto-related skills. I would love to see some sources like statements made by Paypal itself though.

Those are hearsays, the real news is about PayPal getting blockchain engineers. It could be that they will be adopting crypto soon or they'll be making their own blockchain network which shall upgrade their systems.

That is not the case, PayPal is a online money transaction system and if they are not upgrading their system with the trend then they will be left alone and their billion dollar business will die out eventually, so they are just making a smart move to sustain their business and nothing else and eventually you will see many business doing the same and it has nothing to do with the pandemic.
