You are one of the victims of the scams stated in this article- https://cointelegraph.com/news/another-bitcoin-scam-hits-canada

How about going to the authorities, and give full details on how you got victimized by the scammers or this ponzi scams.
I know there are people here in the forum from canada, maybe they can give a more precise advise as they know more the laws in your country.

"bitcoin fraud"
This is a generalised accusation that no one could understand. The comment above stated a possibility of a recent occured case. You have to provide more details on how you have been a victim of what you called a bitcoin fraud and how it's related to your Canadian residence.
I wish you can provide explained details with some clear evidences about the situation.

You are one of the victims of the scams stated in this article- https://cointelegraph.com/news/another-bitcoin-scam-hits-canada
The article doesn't provide a lot of information about the case. I wish to know more from op if he is really a victim of this fraud .

he is talking about this thread Trying to recover funds from bitcoin scam. he got scammed by a crypto cloud mining company. not sure why the OP felt the need of creating another thread when he could have just asked the question on the first thread he created.

After a quick google search I found this link which is probably the only way you can report a scam.

"Call the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC) at 1-888-495-8501 or visit www.antifraudcentre.ca to report any incidents of fraud or cyber-related fraud."

You might want to give us more information on what happened if you want to know if you at least have the slightest chance of getting back your funds. If it is purely online though with you depositing money on a certain website or to an anonymous person, your chances are slim to none.

But yea go make a report to the authorities regardless.

There is not much you can do, since bitcoin transactions are not reversible they will keep your coins. Maybe if you can give us more information we could trace who is behind the scam. But you should realize at this point that you lose that money.

Some bitcoin lessons aren't cheap at all.

If you don't have the slightest idea where to go in your locality to report your case, just go to the local police. I bet they will refer you to the proper authorities. If not, you could always ask the opinion of a lawyer. The lawyer will probably guide you as regards your legal options. I suggest you gather as many details as possible first so that you can provide the necessary information in case questions are raised right there and then.

I am a victim of bitcoin fraud and would like to know where I should report it. I live in Canada.

If that's a person and you have their identity, you can report the case to authorities there. If the person is using an alias or fake picture, say goodbye to your money.

If that's a registered website, you can report the case to authorities there and your cybercrime group will handle it. If the website is unregistered, totally trash, then say goodbye to your funds now.

But rather than we are asking random questions here, tell us all the details on what or how you got scam.

EDIT:

Looking at your profile, I read your thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5259080

Reading the sorry, I'm sorry but chances to recover your fund are so slim. That was a big amount. I can't imagine a feeling of losing such amount. How come you guys with decent money didn't DYOR before investing your money. Sad

I am a victim of bitcoin fraud and would like to know where I should report it. I live in Canada.

People in your country can help you solve this problem If necessary you can take the help of a legal firm. From where the victim of the scam all the information is presented or reported to the lawyer. Canadian law firms are much better They will always try to catch scammers Also in the forum op can give you much better advice.

Every bitcoin transactions are irreversible, so I doubt that you can chase those scammers as they might not be using their real identify and hiding on those bitcoin addresses.

Of course, you can go to authorities to report it, but if you're thinking to get back your investments, I really don't see it. Next time, just be careful and just just trust anyone because crypto sphere is full of scammers and criminals taking advantage of investors, specially beginners like the OP.

If that's the fraud that he's describing.

There is no possible way that he can retrieve the bitcoins that were sent to the scammer. Look at this one-year-old thread. It's about the website that he has mentioned on the quoted link.

Coinxcryptomining.com is it a scam?

totally agree that what you say is the truth that it will be very difficult to hunt down scammers because the evidence may also not be strong and not to mention bitcoin recovery is very difficult to realize.

I can't help answering if the OP actions to report to the authorities, because I myself do not know the state of the country with every happening with crypto problems. in my country, I clearly cannot report because crypto is not recognized as a legal transaction and is recognized by the state.

it should be to be more careful in carrying out all activities related to crypto, because of a slight error it can be sure that it will not be possible to recover.

Report it but don't pin too many hopes of anything coming out of it. You may get lucky some day and you have to be in it to win it anyway.

I sell bitcoin for 70% of the cost of bitcoin!

So you answer a Bitcoin fraud thread with an attempted fraud of your own. That's a prime dick move right there.

I'm not in Canada but the best think you need to do is to report about the incident to the proper authorities in your country and present a strong evidence so that they will be sued, this is suggested by many people so hopefully you will do it since you can help others to became educated on what you experience here and next time don't invest online without knowing the real score of the project.

You posted a thread June 30, 2020, 02:50:08 PM and here is the Title: Trying to recover funds from bitcoin scam.

Now 9 hours after, you posted yet another thread again regarding the same matter?? Don't expect too much here and better report it to the authorities there. Maybe there are some that might help you but not to the extend that they will do a way to get your money back because once you gave your money to a scammer, it will not go back to you ever. And please don't create multiple threads regarding your problem because it will not help you at all. One thread is enough already.

I am a victim of bitcoin fraud and would like to know where I should report it. I live in Canada.
First of I think you need to provide more info on how did you end up being a victim and give us more details on this fraud that you are talking about so other people could also avoid it.
And just like what other have stated you could report it to the authorities and explain it all how it all started.
There are so many fraud and scams nowadays so we should be careful on who we would trust and where we would invest.

Reporting the incident is the best course of action, I feel bad for your loss but at the same time this should serve as a lesson to you, the forum is here for advice but not everyone has the time to help you out but the good thing is that you are creating awareness.

You are not the one who is saying that I have watched many videos read many articles and they all are saying the Bitcoin is fraud. But the people who have understood the Bitcoin they know that what is Bitcoin. And you should have to make more search.

Bitcoin fraud is broad if you are asking for help, you should make all things clear, you should add some details about what happened on you so we can have feedback or advice for you, we cannot give our thoughts to your problem if you will only create a 1 liner post but if you are only asking for the person that can help you on your problem, I think you should report it to the authorities, give them the whole details so they can help you with their best.
he is talking about this thread Trying to recover funds from bitcoin scam. he got scammed by a crypto cloud mining company. not sure why the OP felt the need of creating another thread when he could have just asked the question on the first thread he created.
Maybe, he is not contented on the first post he had created, he is a beginner in this forum so he is just only here asking how can he recovers his lost money. I hope that he can still recover it because based on some of my experience and some oft he articles that I have read, it's hard to recover the lost money if you don't have any information where did it go.
