Hi,

I've found some really poor altcoins with an incredible market cap that I'd like to short sell on exchanges like Digifinex and Coinsbit. Is this possible?

Thanks!

How they can be incredible if they are poor altcoins? Well, I mean that those descriptions are contradicting how you describe it. Going on, it's possible to short from another exchange to another.

Do you mean arbitrage trading? it's possible and it's been done by many traders if the spread from the other exchange is quite high and you can see the potential profit. But, there's also a chance that you might be rekt if done it slowly and wrongly.

Shorting needs good volume, which most poor coins don't have.

I find it difficult to understand completely what do you want to do!! So, please answer some questions so that I can suggest you in time before you rekt yourself. 1. Are you poor altcoins being traded in both Digifinex and Coinsbit? Do you see the difference in the buying and selling price of that particular altcoin in both the exchanges like selling at low price in one exchange but high buying price at the other exchange?? Are you trying to do arbitrage trading??

I think what he meant is Incredible Volume so poor in value because so far it is Rpple (XRP0 who's having huge volume but stays in top 5.

Well arbitrage is still profitable if you have experience, because all you need to do is watch each exchange and transfer your funds from each other that has High in value.

With Lukc?it is possible but i'm afraid Newbie like OP can find that way to success.

We need a strong and popular trading sites to consider those potential coins to have short trading. For these days with most low volume crypto, I am not that confident enough to put my investments at risk. Just focus on growing your asset while the market wasn't able to recover an enough potential profit, because taking a rush might put your capital in danger zone.

Lower rank altcoins that are worth short selling usually don't have short option or margin on exchanges so that's not possible, and even if that was possible it's not suggested to do that because when one altcoin has a low liquidity and volume it's easy to pump that coin too and altcoins that have margin trading and short trading enabled tend to pump to short squeeze the traders as well and you don't want to be on the other side when these shitcoin pump because they have extremely low volume and very easy to push their price up to 2-3x in just a couple of hours.

Do you mean arbitrage trading? it's possible and it's been done by many traders if the spread from the other exchange is quite high and you can see the potential profit. But, there's also a chance that you might be rekt if done it slowly and wrongly.

Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but arbitrage trading is not working on crypto market 98% of the times because of a few factors that make it impossible, in theory arbitrage trading should work in crypto because the difference of the prices between exchanges is quite high but when you test it out yourself you will be facing many problems and that tells you it's not as easy as it looks, one of the problems is fake volume and fake orderbooks and bot trading, trading bots of these exchange only sell to or buy from themselves and will disregard your order if you want to get the best price(be the market maker) so you have to pick an order from orderbook and sell to or buy from that which means you will not be buying and selling in good prices that it shows on their exchange or on coinmarketcap.

If you are wanting to be that trigger/catalyst to start short selling are you capable of doing that on your own? Because not unless you are a whale I don't think you have the power to singlehandedly influence the market, I mean even the pump and dump groups fool people in their telegram channels in order to have others join the demand in the buy orders. The same will be for the ones selling it, if there is no considerable amount of selling pressure in it I don't think you can do short selling on your own not unless that altcoin is going down already.

I never find an incredible poor coin, the coin you talking about has good market cap and you still calling it poor coin.
Can't just understand your question here man but do you actually mean arbitrage trading?  Let me know so I could clarify you easily.

You can sell any alt-coin on exchange if it's listed, if alt-coin is not listed on any exchange you will have to be listed. That waiting
is not advisible, some alt-coins never get listed because they are bad and not any exchange want's them.
If you are not sure are they listed or not, first try CoinGecko or CoinMarketCap, if you find your alt-coins there you can click on
them and check are they listed anywhere and their trading volume. If trading volume is 0, there's no demand for that alt-coin
you will not be able to sell it even if it's listed.

What do you mean, altcoin that has reached hardcap and when registered in the exchange becomes a worthless coin, correct me if it's wrong.
If the altcoin that you hold is in a bad situation in the market, in my opinion, you should immediately sell it to find safe and prevent more losses if it is already listed on the exchange, or if it seems to have good potential in the future. , You should think about saving it.

as long as they still have a request you can sell it. but when there is no demand for the exchange you sell it will be the same and useless. when there are still those who want to buy your coins then sell them, before they become junk coins that have no value.

I hate to be in position when I have a decent enough bag of some coin and i need to cashout and i finally find an exchange where that coin is listed and when i deposit on that exchange and then see low volume or no liquidity or huge trading gap or just not enough buy orders at decent price i really get burnt because it means i am not going to get my investment back but multiple times less value.

why don't you see the volume of requests that are on the exchange first? if the demand is large enough you can sell it. but when the request is small it will only be a fee for the token transaction that you have.

You have to look carefully if there's any trading activity of that said altcoin or else you will be holding some garbage coin in your wallet. Short selling is not a problem but you should know what you are doing since most of the altcoins I know is either too hype up or dead. A lot of people suffer from their losses because they don't know what they were doing that's why it is recommended to do your own research before planning to take any action.

I dont know what you mean about "Poor altcoins" considering that you had mentioned an incredible market cap but somehow you can eventually check out if those are organic ones or just
simply get those stats or numbers for a single pump out.You can spot it on your own.

Lets say that they do have that real big volume. Those coins arent considered shit though since there are people who do trade of with these coins and the thing you've been asking is
about arbitrage.

Yes, its possible but be sure that you should be fast on executing action between exchange so that you wont end up on negative when the price of that certain coin you've been trying to arbitrage
wont drop when you are midway. It looks to simple but there are lots of things that you should consider to be profitable.

How they can be incredible if they are poor altcoins? Well, I mean that those descriptions are contradicting how you describe it. Going on, it's possible to short from another exchange to another.
I think what he meant is Incredible Volume so poor in value because so far it is Rpple (XRP0 who's having huge volume but stays in top 5.
Yes, that could be it and I understand it better now.

Do you mean arbitrage trading? it's possible and it's been done by many traders if the spread from the other exchange is quite high and you can see the potential profit. But, there's also a chance that you might be rekt if done it slowly and wrongly.
Well arbitrage is still profitable if you have experience, because all you need to do is watch each exchange and transfer your funds from each other that has High in value.
It's profitable if you have been doing that most of the time. But not every single trader can do this accordingly as we say that it's profitable. There's still more chance of losing on this strategy because delays might come and that's going to destroy your strategy.

It's not actually a bad news but it's the reality that you are telling. Arbitrage works for some and most for not and in that case, those few traders that are working with this strategy keeps on using it because they know what to do and what are exchanges that are good applying it.

You mean undervalued altcoins that you can short sell? Well, if you want to short sell, you have to be very careful and vigilant while doing so. Some of this altcoins can be a bait for investors to invest after which it dumps. Know what you are doing before starting on a trade

Most importantly, try to see how their project runs and is developed or not. I've seen ESH projects that don't have good value in exchange. but it turns out the price can increase before they do airdrop to get other coins that have good prices on the market. it seems like such a scheme is already known to people with large capital.

Poor altcoins means cheap altcoins with huge marketcap?

If you see good volume for that coin then what is stopping you from trading those coins? But in reality those coins don't have enough trading volume so you can't liquidate your coins so don't get trapped.
