Try sending them PM just inquiring about their wellbeing, it'll be appreciated whenever they received the message. Most users on the forum most likely used their active emails so it's quite certain they'll recieve an email alert. I know I once sent a DM to a user that was inactive for some while then he replied my DM and gave me the reason for his inactivity and was happy someone reached out to him. He told me he didn't expect such love from the forum thinking the relationship on the forum just end with replies.

I personally appreciate it when my countrymen reach out to check on me through any of my contact info. About the way the newbie are been attacked, I'm one of those against such behavior by the higher ranked users but don't take that as been in support of the newbies even when they're wrong. Some are very annoying to work with but we should learn to accommodate them and help guide them into been a better forum user.

Like what I said on my story before, I am also once a spammer, never know how to quote properly, never know how to post properly... Until I learned from the rude people. You just need to be open, set aside the emotions then you will learn.

Yes, the new comers in the forum would most likely to complain, spam which will then lead to copy and pasting posts of others in form of plagiarism. This is why I had started this post in this section for them to be aware of what I and others had been doing wrong before.

Right now the only thing that I want to learn is how to create my own blockchain and how really mining works.

Okay, this could probably one of the reason for the other users inactivity doing some highly technical projects that they learn in this forum. As expected since more users here are genius.

Yeah you are right, I learn a lesson in this reply. It seems learning does not really mean to be fun at some point especially in this difficult times. Probably tiktok will be a better way to do some fun in this lockdown.

The OP now lacks what I’d call the intended placement context, which is relevant to the content of the OP itself: Originally it was posted in Meta, but it was subsequently moved to Beginners & Help (by a Mod, I presume). That gives the OP a different environmental context, and the intended reaction and focus will definitely be lesser in the current section than the former.

Yeah that might be do as well but I think I'll just leave them occupied on what they had been doing right now. If it is for the forum then definitely they will be going back here and will do some post. I can't afford also to ask them directly for I might be a shy person? LoL

Yes, you are really one of the good guys here in this forum. I have see you ranked and that is the good thing you have been made. I commend you for that since there are many users here could not do the same thing as you did and achieve expect for those genius and other good guys like you here in the forum.

No actually I do not mind the rank as long as I am happy and contented here in the forum reading some news and posts of other users here especially some old friends made before they become inactive.

You're right there are many rude members here, especially when a beginner is asking for a common-sense question, well they are a beginner so we should understand the limitation of their thinking about the forum, we should understand them because we become like them before, we had passed that thing now so let us help them to pass it too. Just help them by answering in a good way, we shouldn't be rude to them because they really need help.

The rudeness thing is a two-way thing. There are numerous new members too who ask rudely. Every action gets an appropriate reaction but I believe the older forum members should continue to play the big brother role and overlook certain unpleasant comments.

Basically, to knock the others off of the top, you have to do three things

• Post quality posts instead of begging for merits.
• Do trades and or lending giving positives for genuine trustworthy trades (it doesn't matter if they are DT1/2 because they will also start to rank up - you'll start seeing old positives starting to become trusted giving you green trust if they have found you trustworthy in the trade).
• Review LoyceV's Beginners guide to correct use of the Trust system - work out who you find is trustworthy and who you don't trust and "vote out" (for want of a better description) who you feel shouldn't be at the top of the Slippery Slope.

...but above all work on the quality of your posts and don't beg for merits like others do; it's embarrassing to see.

I also think the same way even if it is not my countrymen. I have known a forum member since I am at jr. member rank and at this kind of time, I did send DM but to no avail I didn't even get a reply and I also did send DM on telegram but still the same. I wonder if op will try to send DM to old members here in this forum.

I am not new in this forum in fact I have been a spammer since the day i made this account. To be honest that was really a mistake or misunderstanding in my part for doing it in this forum. LOL

Well, I made some comparison and found out that some users here were still the same. They are good at reacting violently when one user complains in this section especially the new comers. I have been noticing it when I was new in the forum. I had been seeing a lot of rude replies and they now in high ranks. I envy though I could still commend them for their good deeds.

Sorry admin I was posting this for awareness especially to the likes of me who always complain in this forum before. LoL.

Now that we are in pandemic it seems like some old users i know had been inactive for a while. What could be the reason..I had missed their names reflecting in the replies posts.

I agree, I guess that behavior is a behavior of someone who's always wanted to bring themselves up through bringing others down. They do it by saying harsh words to them and mentioning some nice words so that they will look like an intelligent one who knows far more than that newbie. It's a shame for them though, if they will happen to realize it. We should always be welcoming and instead of bringing some newbies down, why not just educate them.

Merits are meant to be given to good quality or deserving posts. For every 2 Merits you receive, you get 1 sMerit (sendable). In other words, they have to be earned to be given away.

Then there is a group which thinks it's easy to farm them, like upvotes. Just ask and you shall receive. Shortcut.

Naturally these kind of thing defeats the purpose of discussions when such beggars just want the easy way.

You need to keep this in mind that this a community. There are people around the every corner of the world. Not everyone has same culture, same mindset, same society, same way to grow up. It is expected for everyone to have their own view and opinion and attitude. Life is easier when you have no expectation from others.

I like the fact that you understand this concept quite perfectly. One can not be always right or wrong and you can only understand a person better only if you were to be in their shoes or view things from the perspective at which they see it. You don't expect anyone to give you what you want, you don't know at what expense it's been given and they too don't know as to what expense that which is given is to be received. These little things add up to enrich the natural order of things with it's beauty. So, let's just seat back and enjoy as it unfolds itself and never fail to learn a lesson out of everything.

It's always funny when you look back at your past errors and wonder how come you made such a mess, what were you thinking and how you never got to notice it... Really amusing right! Well, that only tells how far you've come. It also applies to when you were a child, if you happened to watch a video clip of yourself. Growing up is possible and fun but, in other to grow in this forum as per ranking up, you've got to walk in shoes that are not very comfortable and like shoes that doesn't seem to fit, they always shapes your legs to fit. Such is the nature of this forum. It's either your shaped to fit but if you choose to stick to your old ways and isn't passionate about learning and changing old bad habits, well, good luck ranking up.
