I've made a list for a gpu miner... wanted some expert opinions

8 x RX 580 sapphire AMD Radeon 8gb
2 x DDR4 4gb ram
1 x SSD 120GB HD
1 x Aluminium open frame
1 x Intel G3930
1 x ASROCK H110 Pro

Wasn't sure on Corsair power supply for this, 1800w?

Plus do I need PCI risers?

Run it on Linux something beginning with S SANO or something?

GPU details
Sapphire
Scan code: LN104690 Manufacturer code: 11265-67-20G

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

How much is your electricity rate?
RX 580 8gb are good, but will consume more power than new AMD cards
RX 580 - 31Mhs - 130watts
5700 or 5700xt - 54Mhs - 120watts

If you have a very low electricity rate, it's worth rx580, but if you pay high prices, better to stick with rx 5700, it's way more efficient

1800w PSU is too much, but compare the prices, your system will consume something like 1100wats on the wall and a 1300w is a good choice

Yes, you need PCI risers to plug your cards

I prefer windows 10 because it's very easy to use and tweak the cards (modify the bios, overclock etc), but you can run a specific miner OS if you want, based on linux

Thanks for speedy response.

I've got cheap electricity through work.

But does the intel work with that motherboard etc does the hardware work together ok?

I'll need 8 PCI risers? plus need to buy a copy of Windows 10?

The power, can't find a 1300 w they do 1000w or 1200w -

Would these risers cut it?

If this is your Mobo: https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H110%20Pro%20BTC+/index.br.asp
Yes, it's the right CPU to use, intel 7th generation, G3930, it's good because your entire system without GPU will consume 40 to 50w, very efficient

You need 8 PCI risers, but buy at least one more to have a spare riser

No problem with PSU, your system will consume 1100w, and it's always good to have your PSU working at 80% of capacity, it's more efficient

And about windows you can buy or install and test for one month

Thanks so much for your advice and time.

The only other thing I was worried about was the heat. I originally tried an Antminer SE 9. This literally cracked the wood in my garage from all the heat it produced.

That rig will use more or less the same amount of power from the wall as the S9 SE, therefore you will run into the same heat issues
PS: I wouldn't use a PSU with less than 1600W for a rig with 8 RX 580 GPUs, but that is just me. I wouldn't run it above 70% capacity, not for efficiency reasons, but durability.

FFS no way? I've just bought this spec as I couldn't use my Antminer lol. What about cooling it down with something? I think the 580 I bought has a lot of cooling with it?

Don't forget to check the cards for a dual bios switch.
My RX580s didn't have any and quite a few of them got bricked and they are of no use now.
It'll give you a failsafe when you'll be bios modding and also backup the bios for all the cards one by one.
Don't make the same mistakes I made.

You won't have to worry about cooling them or heat if you're properly undervolting them.
At most my cards were hashing at 31 MH/s with 75W consumption with 60 C in an ambient temp of 24 C.

Both reasons are valid, but I think the safe point is 80%, but anyway, you're good with 70%

You'll do some tweaks to reduce heat and power, but it'll generate some heat on the ambient,  it's hard toknow exactly bacause we don't have any idea about your space

...

This is the card: https://www.sapphiretech.com/en/consumer/pulse-rx-580-8g-g5-oc-lite
I can't find any info about Dual Bios on this GPU, but I have a lot of RX in the past and never bricked a single card, have you tried everything to fix your cards?
About this 31mhs and 75w, this wattage is only for your chip, the entire card will consume at least 130w

It doesn't matter how good the GPU cooler is. If the GPU consumes 150W with a good cooler, it is going to put as much heat in the room as another 150W GPU with a bad cooler. The GPU with a good cooler will do it while keeping the GPU components at lower temps (i.e. keeping the core at 50º instead 70º), but both will output the same amount of heat to the room (power consumption = heat generated).

The good thing is that you can configure the GPUs to run at lower speeds to consume less power. This would result in lower hashrate, but at least you won't have issues with the wood in your garage.

Think about it this way - your garage is a sealed box, and you're putting a 1/1.5kw heater in it.

It's going to heat it up a lot, so you need to move that heat out of the box - an extractor fan up high and some holes covered in mesh low down will be surprisingly effective.

Could I pay someone to remotely log in and get it all working? Set it up with lower core temperatures. If I crack a window open in the garage?

I recommend you to learn how to install and keep your rigs running, from time to time you'll need to do some maintenance and if you learn from scratch it's way better to maintain
Of course you can pay someone to do some tweaks and put your rig mining, but it's up to you to assemble your rig and flash the bios, for this you'll need to have access to your hardware

It's not hard, maybe in theory, but when you start to build your rig, you can search on internet, youtube and here for any problem in the path

So.... flash the bios.... what’s that mean lol

I’ve got a frame and pic risers coming next week

We flash the bios to achieve more hashrate, for example RX 580 achieve 25mhs withou mod, and with the biosmod can achieve 31mhs, if you multiply for 6 or 8 cards, it's a huge difference in hashrate and profits
This is an example of how to do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FT9K8DqaeDs&list=PL5WNXokwbcqn__DGdtWi3bEs4bU3BPCbO&index=50&t=0s

But as I said, don't worry, when your cards arrive you can do step by step and see how easy is
