It would be better to reach out to trading communities and trading blogs - even small ones if you don't have a big budget, that would give you better targeting than just running a banner ad on a big website.

Do interviews, showcase your platform and offer people fee rebate for market making and maybe no-fee trading for the first few weeks or some such incentive.

Now, if you can find active Crypto currency Meetups in your country, it would go a long way to achieve your goal. First of all start with hiring of experienced Marketing Manager(s). This isn't something that someone can just write like a homework.

This will cost a lot of money but actually it is the most effective way to market the exchange aswell they should hire a global ambassadors to help them market globally and visit them one by one to conduct a meet up. It can seriously gain a huge popularity if this method will be done so well and will be backed up with another aggressive promotion.

You can start by posting ads on Google and other search engines. You can also promote your new currency on social media platforms such Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn.

this is just one way of marketing and I don't think the result will be not on target (trader)..  it would be much better to start marketing at the beginning by using the cryptocurrency forum because of course, it will definitely reach traders (active/passive), can by holding a signature campaign, articles/videos, or social media and this method has been proven to be able to reach the target when compared to just advertising on Google..

Do you think there's more traffic you can get on social media? Since you need to target those crypto users before gaining some good results and provably the one you can see the ads there are not much on crypto. So best try to advertise first on big crypto sites like etherscan or maybe coinmarketcap since provably you will get a traffic to the real crypto user guys out there.
