Generally hate anime, so was surprised to recently enjoy Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away (fun fact: English dialogue and subtitles occasionally give different meanings to scenes). There Will be Blood was also alright... still convinced the Coen brothers directed.

Too cynical for serious, linear media anymore outside what's clearly presented as subjective. Too much bullshit, especially in documentaries. Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Lars and the Real Girl, Thank You for Smoking all also underappreciated and worth a watch.

There are many other titles you'd probably like, try watching the rest of Miyazaki's movies, they are all deep and touching.

I hated Spirited Away, but I seem to dislike all the Studio Gibli films I've seen. Really don't get their appeal at all.

Everyone is watching kid movie  Roll Eyes

Here is a good movie for grown up perverts:
Nymphomaniac by Lars Von Trier

Fixed lol. Trier's films are always perverse. Have you seen Anti-Christ? That has one of the worst scenes I've ever seen.

Yeah but haven't seen the end. I had to stop in the middle for a reason I can't remind. I'll watch it again.

BTW, nothing to do with that above but I just seen a good science fiction movie, here is the full movie link on YouTube :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unS-7E4CM68

New York City, year 2095. A floating pyramid has emerged in the skies above Manhattan, inhabited by ancient Egyptian Gods. They have cast judgement down upon Horus (a falcon headed god), one of their own. With only seven days to preserve his immortality, he must find a human host body to inhabit, and search for a mate. In the city below, a beautiful young woman, Jill, with blue hair, blue tears and a power even unknown to her, wanders the city in search of her identity aided by a doctor who is fascinated by this mystery of nature.

I watch all kinds of movies don't care what it is as long as it is good and can be considered artistic I consider it may be worth my time and go from there.  Don't judge me cause I'm open minded.  Cool

That's true there are certainly a lot of good movies out there it would be nice to have a handy little list though for people to watch if they have free time

The last movie is saw and it had a strong impact on me was 12 Years a Slave .....I didn't realise how tired I was after watching it. I also had a splitting headache. The film really affected me emotionally. That has never happened to me before.

Saw 300 (the new one) wasn't really a movie worth admiring IMO. Yeah it was good, but not as good as the first one, was way too graphic and imagine was pushing the "R" rating. The last movie I saw that was worth admiring (IMO) is Gravity. If you haven't seen it, quit doing yourself a disservice and watch it! Frozen is pretty good too, and is on its way to becoming a Disney classic.

I don't understand why they suicide at the ending. They can simply killed that shit leader.

I just saw it. It is basically a propaganda for Japanese imperialism.

Shichinin no samurai from Akira Kurosawa is way better than this movie.

What's it about?

It's about a citizen that abides by the law, but then doesn't  Cheesy. Gerard Butler's wife gets raped (and possibly murdered) and the rapists are never brought to justice so Butler takes the law in to his own hands. It wasn't that bad. Worth a watch.
