Bitcoin Diamond is a hard fork with a 10 times larger supply than Bitcoin, that itself is a definite no for me. Expect for a bigger block size like Bitcoin Cash, there is nothing to consider it as a promising cryptocurrency. And I don't think it to be a promising investment as well. As you have mentioned, the coin has dropped over 99% from the ATH. Such a coin doesn't deserve a consideration when they have nothing to offer and I don't think the price would get any better because of the so-called halving.

@akhjob, What you say has a point, 99% of the current price decline, it is the worst phenomenon that has ever happened to BCD Coins, I am very curious about BCD in 2017 and now, that's why I want to know what happened to BCD coins, far different from coins for example: BCH, BSV, etc. which has to do with Bitcoin, not to mention that BTG is worse...if viewed from current prices, compared to 2017.

If you compare any altcoin current price with late 2017 or January 2018, that will get you no good to be honest. At that time, any altcoib with no usecase got pump significantly. I would bet that if there was YOSHIE  token, that would also be pumped regardless of the usecase of the token. So, expecting any altcoin to reach the 2017 ATH would be fool in my opinion.
BCH and BSV are the major fork although the reason of both of these coins high price is kind of hard manipulation. I don't think BCD will get a good future.

The huge price drop is is quite simple to explain. I may not know a lot about the developments of BCD but I know that they, like other bitcoin forks, don't have a community like bitcoin. No matter how hard they try, all their supposedly technological advantages over Bitcoin are rendered useless when it comes to adoption and price. We can easily say that majority of crypto users sees BCD as another copycat of BTC.

The upcoming hardfork would likely pump the price a bit as speculators would join the bandwagon but I doubt it will have a significant increase of miners, users and investors long term.

@YOSHIE If you are expecting for a short-term price jump because of the halving event in August 2020, there is a good possibility. And you can reap some good returns if the price shoots up even for a few cents as the price is currently very low. But if you are expecting BCD to reach the ATH again, that's definitely not possible IMO.

Everything is possible in crypto market and bitcoin diamond can also create new highs in few months or during next bull season but in my opinion all bitcoon hard forks are losing way and also the hype that came at the time of hype and people rushed to buy allthese forks now people are realizing that the real bitcoin is the only one and have started treated these forks as altcoins with limited utilities, i think its better to invest in advanced blockchain network based altcoin like ada, icx, neo etc than to buy these forks.

When everyone is silent about a coin and they don't expect anything good from it. Then there are some people who buy these coins silently and gently pump the market. Those who can buy according to the news at the right time can make a big profit later. Everything is possible in the crypto market, as there is a halving of the BCD next month, which could see a change in the short-term market price. But I don't think bcd will be able to cross the previous ATH.

I was airdropped some BCD during the fork on binance and probably exchanged them for BNB while getting rid of small coins. I consider every fork of bitcoin except BCH to be useless. It's quite surprising that BCD is still listed on popular exchanges like Binance and OKex, it means they are having a good volume all these years.

Because of the upcoming halving event I bought few coins for a midterm hold in the hope that as the halving day comes closer we might see some good price movement but other than that I have never used or held BCD.

in my opinion Bitcoin Diamond is a good project, BCD is also still in the top 100 Coinmarketcap, it shows that this project still has the potential to experience the next bullrun, Halving BCD is not yet entered Fomo, if you are a trader it might be good to enter

Indeed the history of all coins is very good, especially speaking in 2017. I think 2017 is the popularity of crypto. So everyone thinks that crypto is a real future asset. After 2017, 2018 and 2019 the minset is over. People already think the opposite.

I have no idea what BCD developed over Bitcoin. Since you are trying to highlight the halving event which is coming soon, I would like to add some words before you decide anything.
What are the popular fork of BTC? BCH no doubt. We can bring Litecoin too in this table. Now check if they had some significant change on the halving event. I do not think they had. I did not track although. You can check the pre and post halving price of LTC and BCH. You may get an idea.
Yoshie, I recommend you to stay away from altcoin as much as possible unless you are a pro. I do not know which stage you are, have not seen you in altcoin boards too much. Remember, altcoin can make your portfolio poor very faster.

I am no more going to believe any of these bitcoin halving or forked coin either it may bch or bch forked coins all are just greed coins . Before btg bitcoin gold happened it reached 100$ then I bought that now it’s price again less than 10$ . So better invest on ethereum instead of waiting for bitcoin diamond

Crazy old days   I cant forgot the story about BCD because it was the best day in my crypto history. There was a problem about BCD transactions and all exchanges locked BCD deposits so the BCD supply on exchanges was very low (less than 1 million). When i was a newbie, i bought some bcd from 0.0021 and sold at 0.019 one day later (13.01.2018 Binance). BCD price on kucoin raised up to 0.2 0.1 btc too. But it was only a shit.

BCD cant raise up to same prices because it is a real shit. So i'm not a newbie anymore and learned too much about crypto world. Do not invest in shits like BCD. If you invest in shits you will lost your money.

All these altcoins with "bitcoin" in their name are shitcoins that aren't worth anyone's time, it's sad to see some people seriously considering investing in them. They are created with a purpose of making money out of thin air and dumping it on exchanges. They will never see any notable use, and developers won't be seriously working on them. It's not a coincidence that this trend of working started with bcash and not earlier - that was the moment when people realized that you can make money by forking Bitcoin.

A shitcoin will always be a shitcoin no matter what name it is. Only the first sets of BTC folks performed well, though there are still some known to be shitty among them. BCD all time high and all time low shows a huge price difference which explains why it's shitty.
Forks are created by developers to make money, then dump the project. Won't advise buying coins from folks.

My opinion for Bitcoin Diamond or any coin similar to Bitcoin Diamond is: You should move on with this type of coin. We've passed the time with those coins that try to follow the name of other success coins. Back then I can get it as a way for them to attract attention but now their future looks bleak.
