Many companies around the world have joined in on the Facebook advertising boycott and it seems that it's not stopping anytime soon. With a flurry of companies leaving and setting this trend, this could mean more business for crypto social and advertising projects like Brave and Steem. It will also be arguably beneficial for crypto companies especially, to not have to depend on Facebook for advertising and hopefully we'll see crypto companies utilizing different platforms for advertising.

IIRC, that was the reason why their stocks plunge.
It's just a matter of time then people will get back to them. FB is a large platform and there's a huge reach for every startup or business' niche.

that 's true and when facebook will change their attitude and then some companies will start to advertise their product through facebook again. The only chance for crypto in this case is very small even some companies have delayed to advertise on facebook until the end of this year.

Well it could put a big dent on Facebook as lately they have been in the spotlight specially with their Libra coin. Of course this could be beneficial for other social related crypto platforms as they can somewhat get a piece of the pie, and it could be good in the long run as we all know that crypto enthusiast and activities keeps growing every year.

And perhaps we will see another social media platform to emerge to fill the void. I'm sure that Facebook will survive this though, they are a billion dollar company, so there's a lot of leg room for them to bounce back and recover.

Developers/companies shouldn't depend on Facebook only to promote their new crypto projects. Facebook can change anytime about the regulation of crypto ads. We must have various social media as promotion options. There are Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and Telegram as appropriate places for advertising. So, because of many alternatives, I don't see that we must depend on Facebook. Regarding the boycott, I think it is no need to do since it seems to have no significant influence.

We cant really avoid the fact that Facebook does have lots when it comes to user counts which means a more broad way of advertising something and we cant really deny that fact.
I agree that it isnt the only platform that can be used for marketing for these crypto projects yet there are still several places which they can possibly scatter out exposure.
If FB wont change this up then they possibly lose them forever when the time comes that theres a solid platform on where they can advertise on without the need on looking back.

Exactly, I would say that Facebook being the top social media platforms today, it make sense for big companies to put their ads on them. And I would say that with its billions of users around the world, the risk reward ratio is in favor of companies who uses them.

I'm sure there will be compromise here, And I think it is also important where this started.

Quote
A campaign dubbed "Stop Hate for Profit" is urging businesses to show they will "not support a company that puts profit over safety" by ceasing Facebook advertising through July. It has gained significant traction in recent days.

Yesterday, Verizon joined Ben & Jerry's, Patagonia, The North Face, Eddie Bauer, REI, Magnolia Pictures and Viber, confirming ads would be temporarily paused.

The final decision came after Anti-Defamation League (ADL) CEO Jonathan Greenblatt published an open letter Thursday, which said his team found a Verizon Facebook ad was appearing next to a video with ties to the QAnon conspiracy theory.

The video claimed that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is plotting civil war and U.S. citizens are being "quarantined in militarized districts."

Facebook certainly is a centralized company that earns selling user data. But the world is getting too critical and too hypocrite at this time. The companies leaving Facebook would get hit one way or other by the similar accusations in the future. I hope this situation would make Facebook realize the importance of decentralization and cryptocurrencies.

Facebook is too large market for advertising and no company will ignore it. This Facebook advertising boycott will be shut down soon. Facebook has data of billions users so it is the best market for targeted advertising, if you are an advertiser, you will not ignore Facebook advertising

As much as Ive hate it but this will be over soon. I know some company wanted facebook to go down, but we all knew that this platform lies in our face and stealing information over users in the world. However, even the case like that, people still chooses to use them and tapped their advertisement cause they knew how big the network of facebook. Crypto companies should at least step up to overthrown this huge giant somehow. Not saying they can, but at some point there will be chance to do it.

... and hopefully we'll see crypto companies utilizing different platforms for advertising.

Campaigns choose an advertising platform to place ads based on their budget and target audience. If their potential customers are on Facebook, they will lose more from such a boycott than Facebook. Now there is a very large selection of different social networks where you can conduct an advertising campaign, but no one has such a large number of users that Facebook has.

Their algorithm is changing and some advertisers are having a hard time continuing their sponsoring ads. It's them and they know how to deal with business, I don't have much information and knowledge about it.

It's temporary and it's hard to go against with a multi-billion company that has a huge base and keeps on growing community.

Of course, crypto companies and platforms need to go to other advertising platforms or better create their own new ones. Facebook, like other social networks, has a monopoly on advertising and can influence it. It is important for the crypto community to have free activity, for this it is necessary to develop the advertising market. So we see the outflow of advertising companies from Facebook and the emergence of new innovative platforms. I believe that this is the right direction and needs to be developed.

it's still too quick to conclude this, because there are still many advertising networks that can be used besides Facebook ads. if many companies are boycotting, I think they will use the google adsense platform, rather than a crypto-based platform. crypto advertising networks are still not popular, so many companies prefer mainstream platforms that are wider.
