Just want share some story with you guys

Going back last 2018, I have introduced this forum from one of my best friend because he want to make money. But because the forum implemented the merit system, he did not look to this anymore. After few months, we have met and he told me that it was good that I shared some stuffs about online working because he was able to find some investment. At first, I told him to conduct some research because it might be a ponzi scheme since they offered him a 100% ROI for just a week. Yet, he pursue it. Thank God because he was successful in his first investment because he immediately withdraw his funds after several months.

Until one day (this recent days), he talked to me in social media app (facebook messenger). He shared to me his experience in trading cryptocurrency. But I shocked when he said that it was ended to a scam. He thought that giving his fund to pro trader will make him millionaire. He added boastfully, if it was successful his 2K usd will become 20K usd.

Now I realized, how people fastly scammed because they want an instant earning. He became so much greedy because he already made a profit. He entered cryptocurrency without any further knowledge about it. Just because he was successful in his first investment, he thought that everything will go the way he want.

The worst mistake he did was he left this forum without a knowledge in cryptocurrency, that is why he never knows that there are cex such as binance and kucoin which are genuine. BTW, he joined at cryptofx.com it was a fraudulent/scam site. In fact, I never heard about it.


In conclusion,

There are many advantages that a user have when he entered in this forum than trying to risk all of his capital in trading or investment specially if we talk about cryptocurrency.

1. You will know the fundamentals about the coin as well as the trusted exchange that you can trade.
2. It will become easy for you to search for a good project when you have an in-depth studies about the use of coin or development of project.
3. You will not be lead in wrong exchange because there are discussions here talk about exchanges.
4. You will be given an idea from different kinds of schemes happening in internet.

After the incident happened to him, I invited him again to look the forum since he is now trading cryptocurrency. I am just afraid for him to lose whatever he has and disappoint in the field of trading. I want to teach him directly about trading but it seems that he has knowledgeable than me. And I don`t want to teach any person who has more boast than eagerness to learn.

So, for newbie here I am saying that you are on the right track. Just room around the forum and you will see some important threads about how to avoid scam and what are the grounds to invest in particular coin. Just DYOR.

If ssomething looks like too good to be true than no one should go for that. Your friend seems to be very fresher in online investment. Anyone with a year or two experiences could easily distinguish between such a scam and reality. The site he got scammed was solely created to scam people. It's none of legal sites.

Tbh sometimes the best way to learn is to lose something (it's not the only best but its definitive in knowing it didn't work).

A lot of stuff moves quickly here especially for newbies (or seems to) and sometimes you can get caught out by other stuff going on at the time but you are obviously better off researching while you can and staying in the safer parts of trading/the Internet to an extent... I know people who manage to lose everything trying to gamble instead of trade on exchanges and it's tempting but it's important to work out the difference if he's one of those so he knows how to better manage it and give up (if he's actively trading crypto)..

But putting it this way, if he expected that guy to return 10x or even 2x, not losing his $2k might have left him with more of a regret now and it's a mistake he can learn from...

I do agree that being in this forum will give you tons of knowledge when it comes to crypto and makes you aware of potential scams that may lure you. Just head up to scam accusations board and you will have an idea how these potential scammers do their thing to screw people. And many other things like in trading discussion, project developments and yes, you can even learn how to mine a coin even if you are new in crypto. Just be patient in reading countless threads here discussing everything that you can think of about crypto.

Any newbie that has interest in investing rather then just learning about the crypto and topics tied to it, should also scour the Scam accusations section and learn all about scams and types of scams that are out there.

If you have no idea how somethings works or how something looks you are prone to being scammed no matter how smart you think you are.

There are entire projects that were completely faked from ground up that managed to trick a lot of experienced bounty managers , advisors and such.

Unfortunately, just joining this forum and reading it daily won't protect you from scams, it may even lure you into scams if you visit wrong boards at a wrong time. For example, if a newbie will join this forum and then only visit the altcoin and bounty sections, they won't learn much and will likely invest in some scam, because those boards have a lot of shills and clueless newbies who easily say "good project".

Always direct people to this board first when you introduce them to this forum. And warn them about the dangers of altcoins, cloud mining, hyips and other scams, don't rely on them learning it on their own.

In my opinion, the secret key is not being part of this forum to avoid falling into scams. It's just to be familarised with using this forum when looking for something reliable in the cryptocurrency space in general. Being a part of the bitcoin forum means that you are ready to give help hand to others when they came asking for something + providing honest opinions about different subjects. Usually, i invite new comers to be part of this community and stay for long time because of the great documentation that may enrich their knowledge background, although it's great to see more new people come here just to ask and this is in my opinion the great advantage of this forum even without taking part of it by beig a durable member.

For number 2 and 3 purely depend on the member. If the member wants to learn seriously and in a proper way, then he can be easier to get good projects as you said above. But for who are lazy to learn and greedy, they probably never changed even they have been years in the bitcointalk forum. While for number 3, instead many bounty hunters often lead to wrong exchanges because of trading shit-tokens got from bounties. In this matter, it is the disadvantage to come here.

Being in this forum benefits me a lot, it helps my knowledge to become more familiar with the world of crypto, I was not so familiar with some terms and things about cryptocurrency before but because of this forum I learned those things, it helps me know things about technology,  it helps me know things about crypto activities, there are many useful and helpful advise here that I always follow and I am so thankful for those people who share their knowledge to this forum. Forum has been a great help to me as well. I have realized now after reading so many cases of fraud that these guys can go to any level to scam you and that nothing is free in this world

Every day there is a new scam and every time they use a new technique to scam you.

In my opinion, never believe anyone who promises you that you will get rich if you invest money in their scheme. You have to take ownership of your own investment and you have to always do your own research before investing.

Being a part of this forum has given me enough knowledge to understand about world's economic structure before that I am just an ordinary person who keep working for money now only I realized our money have to work for us to make more money.

For me personally,  the advantage in being part of the forum is opportunity to meet local crypto members,  get to know local crypto community.
We even met offline and become good friends.
Also,  this forum is very good place to hear crypto news,  learn new things etc.

An approximate PHP 96,000 is a significant amount of money here in our country LOL! and an average salaryman would take few months to regain that loss. It's unfortunate that he needs to pay a huge amount of money for his money lesson that he will never forget throughout his life.

Discuss to him that there is no such thing as an "easy money" even if he is boastful to what he knows. The only thing that exist to investment that claims "doubling of capital" is "invest to get little to none of your investment" and "GIVE me your money, then I am AWAY".

The forum gives a lot of knowledge to every user like the OP said this is avoiding scam and also we have the board with scam accusations so the members aware about the platform that is already a red flag and the reputation board to make more aware about the members who have already a bad reputation.

The forum gives a lot of information for every member, but still why there are some people getting scam? Because of their too much greed about the investment and they didn't even learn from the mistake and by the mistake of themselves too even we are trying to help them if they don't want to help their selves still they are prone at scamming.

The main reason for his lose is greediness. He thought that it is always a win-win situation in investment. He has no idea of what he entered. 96K pesos is really a big amount of money in my side and losing that fund is really depressing. In fact, he has no family and the only way he got that amount is the subsidy we get from our school before. All of it was risked by my friend and lost his total earnings after a year.

I just talk to him till now because he was depressed due to the large amount of money that he risked. we all know that people who depressed led into suicidal, and I don`t want it to happen to my friend. That is why I told him also that I was scammed more than his money (even it is not true). I just want to boost his confidence again that it is natural in field of trading. I am motivating him to restart his own way in trading and I advise him that he should always be cautious when it comes in risking his money.

I know that this story should be also a lesson for all that don`t run for money, run for the learning to get that money.

Protection and prevention are always better than cure!

Don't believe in anyone else's information, financial advise or analyses. Do your own research.

Don't make loans and use your loans to invest. Your emotion and mental will be seriously affected because of loans, debts and your decisions will be negatively affected consequently.

Don't use all your capital to invest because bitcoin, crypto are volatile and you always need a reservation for other things in your life. You can not live and invest without daily expenses for too long.

After some big wins, it is time to get out of the market. When you are in win streaks, it is time for mistakes and losses.

The forum helped a lot, ever since I joined, I felt I'm at the top of cryptocurrency and I know the background of every new project, that's how exactly I feel. I have been scammed once before here, but if I'm scammed again, then I remain a fool.

Some new dudes fail to visit scam accusations board, which is the actual start for them, ensure your friend keep studying the forum, reading other people posts, and learn gradually till he overcome any angel of ponzi scheme.

Definitely, this forum is a really a haven for everything related to crypto, you can just go around and get the feel of this community, specially boards that are important if you wanted to invest. You don't need to post if you don't feel like to, just reading will be suffice if you are a beginner specially educating yourself. Because that is the best weapon that you can have to be able to identify what platforms/investments/exchanges are exchange, and simply use your common sense.

A valid source of information and a center for cryptcurrency and other information is this forum.

When your friend succeeds in his first investment, he has shown his greediness and arrogance. he does not want to learn about how to develop his own abilities. Giving 2K funds to a pro scammer trader is a foolish choice, then he wants to get a 20K profit, greedy nature to get a lot of profit but not see a big fraud that will happen.

The need for education as early as possible when joining this forum is very important, to direct people like this so it is not easy to be cheated. then depends on each individual, whether you want to learn or not.

This forum provides many benefits, not only in the form of rewards or money, but important information about future technology.
