Some of the fallout so far from that letter.
https://youtu.be/nN3B_q40RyY

as i predicted
millenial drama

and the never ending cycle begins
wanting free speach unless it disrespects certain groups then it should be shunned and silenced
then arguments about what groups should and should not be on this list
the arguments that some non group list chat is defined as group list chat to get it revoked
then cycle back to wanting free speach

i can see this ending up that 'woke millenials' suddenly email conference organisers and when rejected call it a breach of rights. same with not getting their article published in the news.

meanwhile while these supposed 'woke' kids argue about wanting freedom of expression/speach. they keep ignoring that the platforms they wish to have their voices magnified are not part of the right. never were and never should be. the owner of the platform gets to choose who to invite in or not.

so instead of arguing about twitter or amazon books or google/youtube removing search results.
those wanting free speach need to also create their own free platform. create their own music label. create their own book store. lease their own billboards.
because they will never get free open door policy at no cost/no effort on other peoples platforms. and so need to wake up and accept that the platforms are not a right.. unless your the owner. then you have he right to allow what you like..

.. but of course remember there are responsibilities and repercussions that come with rights too

And so this is a perfect example of the issues that are truly at stake. Taken from a letter sent from faculty to the highers up at Princeton university.

Quote
11. Constitute a committee composed entirely of faculty that would oversee the investigation and discipline of racist behaviors, incidents, research, and publication on the part of faculty, following a protocol for grievance and appeal to be spelled out in Rules and Procedures of the Faculty. Guidelines on what counts as racist behavior, incidents, research, and publication will be authored by a faculty committee for incorporation into the same set of rules and procedures.

In other words, they want to be able to decide whether or not research and the resulting studies etc can/should be done/published based on whatever they decide may or may not be racist. But as we're seeing, what is "racist" is being redefined so can and will include a whole range of things. Given what the "Grievance studies affair" was uncovering, that ultimately will mean only studies/publications that adhere to certain ideology will be approved. This is basically what Evergreen showed was happening to universities 3 years ago.

Princeton may not be capable of judging themselves as racist or not racist; in fact, non of these "woke universities" are capable of such a thing.

Here is a body of research studying this problem with a historical perspective. That can never be done immersed in the current culture, as is shown by the historical perspective.

the woke/cancel culture millenials have no clue

they cry at the smallest things. and dont want to deal with real problems
you see universities hush up and deny real rape claims. but the get very punishable and angry about if someone does not use the correct pronoun

this is where instead of trying to fix the university. highlight its limitations and get people to apply to different universities.
if you cant fix the platform. try a different platform

too many millenials think that they deserve the right to fix a platform/university just by shouting loud enough. without realising if they are just shouting.. they end up just arguing that they are not being heard instead of getting the original message of change out.

so if the original message of change is falling on deaf ears or being hushed up.. try a different platform

some businesses only learn to change when their customer base disapears

..
as for what is racism
if someone is actually sounding hateful .. deal with it
if someone is just using a grammatical word that some grammar troll decides is racist without understanding the tone/context of the use of the word in the sentance.. just tell the troll to get a new hobby

free speech is:
if in an empty room your able to hear your own voice. you have your freedom
not being paralysed/duct tape over mouth to prevent speaking

free speech is not:
where other people have to/need to listen
speak in any public place at any time.
speak without repercussions

That's not free speech. Especially not if the rest of the people are speaking, as well. Good practice, though, if the room is empty.

Why is it not free speech? Because it takes a lot of energy or smarts to get yourself heard over the crowd.

That's work, not free. It's work speech, not free speech.

free speach means no one has sewed your mouth shut

being given a microphone/platform to amplify your speach is nothing to do with free speach
if you want your voice amplified stop crying about a certain platform. instead find a new way to get your voice amplified

EG
find out who the message is directed towards and contact them directly

if you simply had a message that no one listens to at a distance. dont just start crying about no one able to hear you. stick to the original message and fiind a way to get it heard to those that need to hear it.

maybe even check your message to see if its actually something people need to hear, want to hear, .. check if by them hearing it would it change anything.
if your fooling around for 6 months on a message and nothing will actually change anyway. then realise your wasting your time.

find a passion/issue that has proper meaning. has proper detail and content that can actually cause real positive change for the majority.
if its just negativity. dont expect results

if its just crying for the sake of crying. find a new hobby
