It's truly not a good idea to keep someone else's funds and trade as my experience had been bitter on this matter.

Btw TL;DR this thread, can you share the type of markets you'll be trading in? Is it Forex? If yes, then you can have a PAMM account and ask your friend to create a PAMM investor account and ask him to invest in your account directly where you can already set up your fees, your profit sharing percentages and minimum deposit.

If it's about crypto, I believe I haven't heard of any brokers providing such a feature like PAMM, you'll yourself need to calculate things as you mentioned in OP.

Personally, I wouldn't use someone's fund to trade in the market. The market has a lot of uncertainty and I wouldn't want a situation where I get to owe people should things don't go as planned – If it's someone's money, you would be put in a tight corner if you're unable to pay back. I've seen situations like this and how it has affected people when things don't go as planned. My thoughts?

If you're sure you can do it, then by all means, get on it. People even take loans from bank/other sources. So it's completely normal. But only do this if you're sure of what you're doing. You should also manage your risk while at it.
For those beginners, don't even try it because for sure you will regret it if you lose the money that you borrowed. It is okay to use someone else funds but make sure you have year of experiences and also have technical analysis skill.

Risk management is very important especially for those traders who have borrowed money, of course there is a pressure at the beginning and that is why we should be aware on our emotions and we should have a right mindset.

It's better to avoid trading using other people's money, it's a very big responsibility. Your friend  will continue to demand profit.
Imagine if one day you experience a loss, I'm sure your friends will not care and will demand profit which was agreed at the
beginning. In the end you will be stressed and trade with no enjoyment. Better to trade using your own money, more enjoy and
also the benefits that can be greater. Because the profit you get is entirely yours.

Your fund is = 10,000$
Other fund is= 3,000$
Total fund= 13,000$
The ratio of the fund is (66.67% : 33.33%)
Then if the total profit+invest fun=  $37,245 Then total profit is $37,245- $13,000 = $24,245
Then profit comes from loaned fund = 33.33% of total profit= $8080.8585
If you want to pay the lender 50% of the profit then he will get= $8080.8585 /2= $4040.4295

This is my calculation. am I wrong?

I tried to calculate my friend's fund because his client has contacted him, and his client wants him to do something that can be his way to make additional money.
So my friend wants to use that funds to trade in the crypto trading, but I advise him not to risk that money since we don't know what will happen to the crypto market in the next year or next two years.
Thank GOD, my friend follow my suggestion, and he says to his client that he will use that funds to create an offline business, and never use that money in the crypto trading.
After a few months (4 months in I am not mistaken), the crypto market is going down slowly, and my friend saw that moment, and he call me by phone and tell me about the situations on the market.

Well, that happens if you use other people's clients. We never know what will happen in the future, and it is better we risk our money than to risk other people's money. If we can risk our money, we will know how to prevent the risk, and we always work hard to avoid the big risk.

how If you beat in one hit aside from losing, then your money or capital comes from someone who's anytime to kill, So it's very dangerous to proceed, it's up to you, but this recommendation about a position is riskier.

Think about this way, someone (investor) who is ready to risk their hard earned money to some trader who themselves claims like they are perfect in trading and promising about consistent profits, then that investor must ready to accept whatever results bringing up by those traders. It means once you are making yourself accepting their terms and conditions than you need to accept whatever the consequences.

We never know what will happen in the future, and it is better we risk our money than to risk other people's money. If we can risk our money, we will know how to prevent the risk, and we always work hard to avoid the big risk.

But, from the perspective of investors they are ready to risk by believing into some traders' skill set. It means they are unable to trade by themselves and that must be the reason why they want to hire someone else to take care of their funds but for trading purposes. I believe this kind of dealing is already happening on most of the markets and because of it remains profitable to the investors, I guess this kind of trends are still keep popping up.

OP's case can be different and it is all about dealing only with friends. I guess this type of traders in the beginning days, they will start with friend's capital and then they will slowly expand their business model which will be allowing anyone to invest with them with the basis of profit-sharing at some percentage. Nothing goes wrong until they manage days in profits Cool.

I don't think that this is a good idea that you are the one who makes a trade with the other money because in the first place. Yes, you already owned a lot of profit with the help of trading but still, this is quite bad because the market is volatile.

But still, at the end of the day, your friend trust you to make a trade which is a good thing and this is a huge responsibility to you and you need to win all of those game on trading still all you need to is become prefer and you both especially hoping that you will win the market price of the bitcoin and earn with the use of trading. It is better if you said already that trading is one of the riskier things you should do.

If ever someone wants you to trade for them using their funds, I don't see any wrong with this one dude.
Now the answer of course would depend on you, and it's up to you how many percent you can give profit to your
capitalist, if yo want to play safe you can tell him/Her that you can give 1% daily profit where in 1 month 30%.
but this is just a suggestion came from me only, the final choice or decision will still be yours.

That's too big considering you'll be operating under pressure to deliver for your sponsor and also try playing it safe not the loss the capital which obviously, you're likely going to be the one to replace the fund if that happens.

When using any alternative funds that isn't users as capital for trading, it's most advisable to consider the negative aspect more than the positive because the market can disappoint you at anytime. If you're capable of delivery 30% monthly you shouldn't assured the user that percentage instead reduce it to 20% or probably 15% that's something the banks can't go give and it's still quite high when you consider the risk you'll be putting yourself into and the volatility of the cryptocurrency market.

I believe this kind of dealing is already happening on most of the markets and because of it remains profitable to the investors, I guess this kind of trends are still keep popping up.

I believe there's nothing wrong in believing in a trader as being an investor, it's your first responsibility to trust your trader or else why'd you actually invest? Are you donating? No, right? The fact is, crypto markets are volatile enough to make your capital go zeroed out in no time if the trader gets into greed to quickly make more profits while having an opportunity by having those funds from investors. Trust me, that's how the mentality becomes when a trader gets other's funds. The thing is, even if an investor is interested in investing some of their money in a trader's strategy or trading itself, the trader should not just consist all the skills alone but also have some extra funds in backup, so to clear things up if anything goes wrong.

If this will happen to me, probably I refuse the offer, just because of the risk. That's right, it's full of pressure to your self just to gain profit in trading because of worrying that the fund you used isn't yours and there is a responsibility you will carrying upon handling the fund. Unless, if both of you had an agreement that whatever happens win or loss there's no blaming each other.

Trading with someone else fund than teaching them how to trade using their fund, I prefer to teach them and let them manage with their own risk. I that way, there's no worrying if you were losing your money because it's yours.

You said it’s your friend that is offering you the loan, still there is nothing wrong with what others have said here because when it comes to money matters friends can even turn enemies, so you still have to be very careful not to mess with the money you’re given.

I believe, like you said, you’re very good and you’re going to make profit with the money. And don’t let your emotions take over you now, maybe you start getting overly excited or things like that and start trading wrongly lol Grin, just relax. And as for how you’re going to handle this, maybe it’s best to just trade with only their money for now, or you can go ahead and use the formula you have talked about, it seems accurate.

For example, if I currently have $10,000 and am loaned $3,000, bringing me to $13,000, could I take the percentage of the loan (23%) and multiply it by my ending balance? So,if a year later, my ending balance is $37,245, would taking 23% of this balance ($8,566) provide me with the correct amount of funds? Then take the 50/50 split profit amount ($4,283) and send it back to the loaner? Does my math seem to add up?

Think of it, your share is 76.92%, the rest is your friend's. If your ending balance is $37,245, you should get the percentage of your share, then that should be $28,648. His will be $8596. Do not cut it on half, because that was not your agreement, get the 23% from his profit. That should be $1977. He should have a total of $6619 while you get a total balance of $30,625.

I do not have much confidence in trading by another person, there are a lot of problems that occur in this type of trading, it will be difficult to calculate the exact profit rate for each party and this will be unfair to either party. This is best done by providing a loan and taking a specified percentage as interest on the loan.

Very true, even its  your relatives chances that you may have encounter problems when money at stake, you need to be very careful working with your friend's investment.

I believe, like you said, you’re very good and you’re going to make profit with the money. Getting excited and very aggressive will bring you a  lots of risk while investing to this trading business. Make sure to keep yourself from every strategy that you'll going to apply, avoid changing plans if it's isn't necessary.

This is best done by providing a loan and taking a specified percentage as interest on the loan.

Not just is it the matter of putting trust upon the trader or not, but the major issue is that what will happen when the trader loses? The fact is, in most cases, people trust someone (trader) whom they know personally like someone being a family friend or a relative and when they lose, not only do they lose their money but the reputation that these people have in the eyes of investors (the ones who invested and took it as a privilege). It's better to keep it to ourselves as our reputation is much more important than our trading profits.

The first mistake I see you make is that you are considering trading at compound interest, it is very risky. For a capital of $ 10k, I would suggest you start by risking only 20% of it, and execute your plans and strategies, the market is usually very volatile and any movement is high risk if you do short-term trading, everything changes to medium and long term, since you have more time to react to important movements.

You have to consider a plan where you have to assume some losses and ensure that your operations in the end with your movements come out positive, no matter that the profit is not much.

I think you have to establish a plan where you consider your profit either weekly, monthly or quarterly, depending on how you want to operate in the market.

I don't care what anyone else says, if someone trusts you enough to give you his money to trade, that means either you are good enough that you will trade well and give him the profits while getting your own cut, or you are so bad that he is wrong to trust you with his money. So in both cases, it is responsibility of the person that gives the money, there is no scenario where the person that gets the money is wrong.

I mean think about it, this person has some amount of money, and they trust someone else with ALL of it, that person may not even give you back and just take that money and spend it on food or car or whatever they can buy with your money without ever replying to you, basically stealing your money. So, if there is a profit or loss, all the fingers are pointing to first person that gives the money.

One thing I rightly known about hedge funds managers are, they often get themselves into trouble within some space of times. Don't think as a newborn cryptocurrency trader, always take the little profits that are possible to trade than looking forwards into future profits which are likely not going to come. IMO, I won't accept to trade someone funds because they are most dangerous, many hedge funds managers have been arrested while some prosecuted.

It varies with the situation yet we wouldnt know if that one had willingly given or being convinced or forced out to borrow up his money and on the situation you had mentioned which i do agree on
that theres no one could be blame of but the person who had lent the money.

Pretty sure that he's already aware on the risk on losing those funds on several possibilities neither being ran away or just simply pretending that those funds had been lost all.

As an investors or choosing up someone who would handle out your money will really have that risk and big part that you should really took the blame for such foolish action.

Hello. I've been quite successful so far in my trading endeavors. So much so that I've been offered a decent amount of money to trade with if I split the profits 50/50. I just have some questions on how I can go about doing this carefully.

How can I ensure that I am keeping track of when I am using their funds and when I am not? I guess I could always open a second trading account which would keep the funds separate, however, this would be a bit of a pain having to sign in and out of multiple accounts.

If I added the funds to my own account how can I keep track of profits? Could I calculate the percentage of what the newly added funds are compared to my current funds? And if I need to cash out or share profits in the future, I would take that percentage of my total funds and remove them?

For example, if I currently have $10,000 and am loaned $3,000, bringing me to $13,000, could I take the percentage of the loan (23%) and multiply it by my ending balance? So,if a year later, my ending balance is $37,245, would taking 23% of this balance ($8,566) provide me with the correct amount of funds? Then take the 50/50 split profit amount ($4,283) and send it back to the loaner? Does my math seem to add up?

Thanks.

Edit: Just so everyone knows, a close friend of mine has asked me to trade with some of their money. They have witnessed my trading and know that I am profitable. It is NOT a random person as others have suggested on this thread. Either way this does not matter and I would like to keep the discussion on topic.

I won't go through all you are saying on this post but take my advice don't even at the back of your mind loan money and put it into Crypto I believe you have came across where it said TRADE WITH WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD TO LOOSE
