It has been days now I have been browsing about bitcoin, bitcoin wallets and the way aatckers will not compromise my privacy. I want to focus this more on bitcoin wallet, I have seen many wallets that I like but I will still prefer bitcoin core and I have few questions to ask about the wallet.

1. Can I use bitcoin on mobile phones? Is I can, can you suggest me the official link I can use for the download? Please, do not recommend me to use the play store, I will prefer the official website.

2. I will also prefer the desktop version, but please only the official site will I be pleased with.

3. What type of bitcoin address does it support? I like the segwit addresses but what about the other two types of bitcoin addresses, is it supporting the other two too?

4. Can bitcoin core wallet be hacked? What possible ways can it be hacked?

That will be all, I believe this forum will provide me with the best answers.

I recommend you checking this for referencing wallets: https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

There are a variety of mobile options available and I suggest you go through with the streamlined process - it'll get what you're looking for.
Download Bitcoin Core here: https://bitcoin.org/en/download
I believe that Core has supported SegWit (bech32 adoption) for a while now and should still support legacy addresses as well as PS2H addresses: reference this 0.16 update.
Anything can be 'hacked' from the client side. A common attack will be that of your clipboard (i.e. copying and pasting) being changed to a scammer's address, That's why you should always make sure that the address you're sending to is the correct one. From a pure infrastructure standpoint, though, you have little to worry about as long as you are not handling your security abysmally - if you've never gotten a virus before, you probably won't be the type of person to get their funds 'hacked'.

Thank you for your support, I will take time to read the details about each wallet, I just like bitcoin core, it is connected to the blockchain directly not depending on other server for it, that is why I just prefer it to be the true wallet version.

https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet?step=5&platform=windows&user=experienced&important=control,validation,transparency,privacy,fees&features=bech32,full_node,legacy_addresses,segwit
I have tried the link it was so helpful, only two wallet were selected for me, bitcoin core and bitcoin knots, I have not read anything about bitcoin knots before, I will prefer bitcoin core.

You can't use Bitcoin Core on mobile though. It is generally not recommended to run a full node on a mobile phone either. So your best bet would be using an SPV wallet. Just visit the link above and select which features are important to you. It will show the list of wallets that satisfy your needs.

4. Can bitcoin core wallet be hacked? What possible ways can it be hacked?
You have been answered appropriately above, but about the malware, I will like to add, there is no wallet that is 100% safe, your inaccuracy and carelessness makes safe wallets not to be 100% safe. I will like you to read about malware that can results into serious hack of wallets and cryptocurrencies.

I believe you know about what wallets are, and if you want to run a full node wallet, bitcoin core is a very good one, it is HD wallet, you will have full control of your bitcoin, it is completely transparent in transactions, privacy is highly maintained, you can also edit fee.

1. Can I use bitcoin on mobile phones? Is I can, can you suggest me the official link I can use for the download? Please, do not recommend me to use the play store, I will prefer the official website.
You can download Bitcoin wallet for Android from here:
https://bitcoin.org/en/wallets/mobile/android/bitcoinwallet/
You will be redirected to play store. It's safe but it's also possible to download the source code then compile it yourself.
Keep in mind that this is an SPV wallet and using it isn't the same as running a full node.

2. I will also prefer the desktop version, but please only the official site will I be pleased with.
latest release 0.20.0:
https://bitcoin.org/en/download

3. What type of bitcoin address does it support?
Bitcoin Core supports all formats but Bech32 is the default option.

4. Can bitcoin core wallet be hacked? What possible ways can it be hacked?
AFAIK, Bitcoin Core is one of the most secure wallets. Hence, your wallet is safe as long as your device is safe.

AFAIK, Bitcoin Core is one of the most secure wallets. Hence, your wallet is safe as long as your device is safe.
This really depends on what you deem as 'secure' and it depends on if you're willing to allow third-party intervention or not. Controlling your own node and broadcasting transactions directly is certainly one benefit in terms of privacy, though perhaps some wish to delegate things to a more centralized server.

Some would say, "hardware wallets are the most secure," though you need to place some trust in the companies that develop the product, detracting from decentralized management. All wallets have their pros and cons and for most people, they will give up the security of running a full node for the accessibility of not having to download a 200GB+ blockchain and updating it constantly. I have tried the link it was so helpful, only two wallet were selected for me, bitcoin core and bitcoin knots, I have not read anything about bitcoin knots before, I will prefer bitcoin core.
Bitcoin Knots is a fork of Bitcoin Core created by luke-jr that provides "alternative" features...

From the official website:
Bitcoin Knots began in 2011 December as Bitcoin Next-Test, a derivative of Bitcoin Core's "master" branch with upcoming and proposed features merged in manner as unbiased as possible toward the changes themselves. In 2014, due to time constraints and a desire to maintain a more stable and well-maintained derivative, I began instead to base the branch off the latest stable release, and include only modifications that both looked reasonably safe and I did not personally consider problematic or flawed; along with this change, since it was no longer an unbiased derivative, I renamed it to Bitcoin Core "ljr", and later Bitcoin LJR. With 0.12 in 2016, the project was once again renamed (to "Bitcoin Knots") and has a goal of being a general enhanced derivative of the reference Bitcoin Core software.

So, it's basically Bitcoin Core with extra bits Wink I'd recommend you start with Bitcoin Core and become familiar with it... and then perhaps investigate Bitcoin Knots if you find there are features that it has (check the website for the extensive list) that you want/need but aren't in Bitcoin Core.

The thread does not belong to the Beginners & Help board. It should be in Bitcoin Technical Support.

Use move topic on the left bottom, then choose where you want to move it to and you can change the topic's subject or not (by default the topic's subject will not be changed when you move it).

Yes you can, mobile phone is good for using bitcoin, just like me I am using my mobile phone for my bitcoin purposes, I am using this for my crypto transaction like storing my cryptocurrency, I am using it as my personal crypto wallet because it finds me so convenient compared of using a desktop, I can use it wherever I am, I can use it even though I am lying on my bed which makes me so comfortable. If there are some websites that you cannot visit because of using a mobile phone, you may turn it into the desktop site, all device have that feature, you can use it on the settings of your browser.

I'm using a bitcoin with the help of the mobile phone too and this is more convenient to me for using this but also I have a wallet which is on my desktop, and if you want to download a wallet make sure this is already well known wallet for me I already have Coinbase wallet and also one of the best things I have this kind of wallet because of their security features like.

  • KYC
  • Price Notification Alert
  • Secured with the help of 2FA
  • Has a fast transactions

Those are the reasons why I want to use the applications also if you are in South East Asia we have the coins.ph a cryptocurrency wallet which is supporting the use of the crypto and fiat currency which you can convert your funds immediately with the use of this app.

I wouldn't say coinbase is not a good wallet, but can not be recommendable for someone that want to use bitcoin core. actmyname has suggested him https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet to let him choose the one best for him. Coinbase is custodial wallet, cryptocurrencies stored on it are not stored on blockchain, which means you are not the owner of your cryptocurrencies on blockchain, I will not recommend this type of wallet at all. Noncustodial wallets are the best, for bitcoin storage, I will suggest bitcoin core or electrum wallet. But to run a full nose wallet without the need of connecting to server, bitcoin core is the wallet needed because bitcoin core is the server itself.
