am I misunderstanding these stamps? the qr code you blocked - why do so? As I understand that does not allow anyone to take the onchain version does it? It is simply for verification, correct? If so, you would want to leave them uncovered so that people can actually verify that you are providing what you claim.

If I am not wrong, someone has to scratch the qr code to add it to opensea account and transfer to their collection to get that achievement or else it is not possible.

Apparently you can shine a bright flashlight (such as the one on your smartphone) through the stamp and read the private key below it  Grin

I haven't received my stamps yet but intend to test this method as a way to redeem while keeping the physical stamps in mint condition.

Sorry for going off-topic on your thread bitcoiner24h.

I heard about that.. People said the same thing for the CS1 too.. I tried my best with all different kinda lights but couldn't read anything at all on the CS1 stamps..

Well I guess US people have to wait for shipments to start arriving so we can test ourself..

this just makes it harder to trust buying them second hand though - no guarantee that the person has not already copied the private key - if they are easily obtainable you could be buying a sealed stamp just to find it has already been redeemed - especially when people are openly stating they are going to do this process - though that is not to say the forum members here would then try and sell such redeemed stamps without admitting to do so.

I do have a trust on @bitcoiner24h. The the digit part will not be redeemed in future once these stamps are sold..

it is indeed possible to scan the qr-code of the crypto stamps without destroying the seal. with this method i scanned all my stamps without opening them.

Guys, these are 2 different issues that we are talking about:

One is scanning the bar code just to check the digital color.
Other is scratching the qr code or scanning it under bright light to get the private key to import the stamp to your collection.

@bitcoiner24h
i didn't want to discredit your auction in any way by writing my post.🤝✌
i just wanted to say that even without opening the crypto stamp its possible to determine the colour and the code (4-,5- or 6-digit) of the respective stamp
