It's been a while since we updated, and the project has undergone an overhaul, so here's a totally fresh intro.

Carbon is a social crypto hub we're building, to bring all of your crypto day-to-day activities into one place. It includes social feed, direct messaging, encrypted data storage, password vault, airdrop tool and much more.

There is a great rewards system in place, combining staking with gamification, awarding points for tasks which moves you up the global leaderboard for a larger share of rewards. Rewards start in December!

Softcap is already 67% reached, with over 670 ETH raised in the first day. We have 2 youtube influencer videos coming in the next week which should get a lot of fresh exposure.

Hi everyone,

I'm the founder of a new project called Carbon. You may know it as "Eso".

We're building a brand new blockchain as well as a decentralised app. Carbon is the blockchain, Eso is the dapp.

Carbon intro:
Carbon is a new blockchain allowing users to become nodes right from their browser. Easy to build on and easy to integrate into existing websites and apps, to benefit from a fast, cost-effective blockchain specialising in persistent data storage. Powered by a hybrid PoS PoW consensus model.

Eso app intro:
Eso is a fully decentralised, end-to-end encrypted communications app. Allowing secure storage of sensitive data, truly encrypted messaging and more.

We're doing things a little differently. There's no token sale. We are self-funded via revenue from our existing mobile apps. We are also the original team behind ClearPoll.

We airdropped over 20,000,000 of the 70,000,000 total supply for ESOS tokens. That was the only way to obtain ESOS tokens for now. They have just been listed on Optimus.Exchange.

ESOS tokens will be swapped for CRBN coins once the Carbon mainnet is launched.

Thanks! I think the focus on mainstream ease of use, and users earning rewards without any crypto knowledge, will give us a nice advantage. Also, launching an app at the same time as the mainnet, will demonstrate the power of the blockchain and I think trigger other devs to create their own apps, all integrating the CRBN coins. It's quite a unique setup and I can really see it working. Very flexible and easy to pivot to different use cases rather than focus on just one.

What do you think will be your edge over other popular networks?
Up until now it is hard to beat ethereum platform, in terms of popularity.
How are you going to attract developers and make them stay to your network?
Sometimes the problem is about consumers, if they are not familiar with the network, they tend to stick with the popular one.

Well, firstly I'd say we would never consider "beating" Ethereum at this stage. We have a lot of work to do first, and they've done an awesome job and built a really solid platform. New low cap projects calling themselves Ethereum killers is a bit of a joke, honestly.

We're trying to build something that focuses on data storage (text) and the ease of use in hooking up to it. We intend to build tools and plugins allowing your average web developers to benefit from blockchain storage with just the insertion of some code and connection with a wallet (via Eso app). A few things Ethereum struggles with are speed and cost. We really need to have those things in our favour and I think it's possible to outperform Ethereum at a few things and then make those your point of difference. Our unique usernodes setup will also rewards everyday users, for doing nothing at all other than using the apps (having the browser window open). So I think we will attract mainstream users as there's no real crypto or blockchain experience required to earn rewards. We'll also attract mainstream users via the websites that are hooking into our chain. Those web users won't even know they're using a blockchain but they still benefit from it (security and lack of central data storage).

In summary, we compete by focusing on areas that other platforms are not, and also focusing on mainstream adoption and day to day usage. So there won't be so much of a problem "switching rom ethereum to Carbon platform" it will be more like introducing new people to blockchain and we're their first experience.
