1. Hacking an account is not an easy task and especially the accounts of celebrities are even more tough to hack as it takes more time to get the account hacked. 2. Hacking multiple accounts is even more difficult as it makes you more prone to get detected. 3. Hacking multiple accounts together is like some next level shit. It would take a hacker some extraordinary skills to get that job done.
So much of efforts just to get the price of bitcoin decreased ? If I would be hacker I would rather hack someone's bitcoin wallet rather than putting in so much of efforts to hack the social media accounts of celebrities.
P.S : Not that I would hack someone's bitcoin wallet but it's a typical hacker mindset.
Well from what I read on another source, it appears they were able to make away with some funds, I think some people actually send some btc over to the address they provided to get it double, I only read it, not sure if it is authentic or not, however, am still in shock how they manage to hack so many accounts of top people the way they did, am still processing the whole scenario.

I'm shocked that I'm late from this news and then when I was looking on google it seem this hacked event was so hot issue now.
That is doubling attempt of your bitcoin and they never return the bitcoin they collected. I had read that not all bitcoin they collected is from the followers of the victim. I read on the twitter account of bitcoin transaction investigation service from Chainalysis that hackers also used their bitcoin to lure more people to join the scam event. Through the high-profile users they hacked the convinced people to join and fall into their trap. Sorry for their loss but there's no way to recover their fund and might they all regret about this.

This case seems to have been planned well. With a structured strategy, the fraudsters use the large and verified accounts to attract mass attention. The blue check that is used as a reference as an "official account" is now doubtful, fortunately, Twitter support moves quickly to overcome this, otherwise more people will be deceived. And the strongest suspicion is this coordinated social engineering attack, the target is the Twitter internal system. This is an important lesson for us all. I am sorry for the victims, most people pay dearly for a life lesson. That's how it is ... the internet and social media really have a lot of power right now to manipulate someone's actions, so it is wise to manage your money.

What you have said here is right, yes they shouldn’t have done such thing because it is giving cryptocurrency a bad name. But do you think these cares about cryptocurrency industry/community? No, they don’t give a damn about cryptocurrency, these are hackers and scammers, and they are ready to do anything possible for them to make money. After they have made that money they don’t care if cryptocurrency gets a bad name or whatsoever is going to happen. They are only interested in that money they are going to make, and nothing else matters to them. When I saw the news this morning I was a bit worried the news kept mentioning them as Bitcoin hackers. It now seems like every time Bitcoin goes viral is only for a bad reason. I hope this doesn’t demotivate new/potential investors.

They wouldnt really care at all if this industry would really be stained up with negative reputation and as said as long they do gain money or benefit out which is their prime motive in the first place. I agree that everytime do Bitcoin made out some news or exposure it is always on the negative side or when the times where it being tagged along with scamming events or even this one knowing that twitter is big as a medium which is enough to spread out.I dont consider those hackers to be low IQ because they do already have those in mind about how they do extract money out of the hacking that they had done. They might not able to do whats other been saying up here but doesnt mean that they havent realized it earlier on.

they would not even care about the condition of crypto market currently when they hack those accounts. they can just do it for their own fuking benefit and make them rich. i wonder if those hackers could get arrested by doing that because there is a way to actually arrest them

There's a thing with all those hacks and fake news spread by them that their effect is never permanent.
If all those accounts were hacked and used to bash Bitcoin it could crash the price at first as gullible new investors back away but then all those accounts would be banned or returned to their previous owners and people would buy back.
The ones who lose here are those who panic sell when there's nothing wrong with their investment.
If you had a house and some people came and told you it's built on an old cementery and you'll get scared and sell it to later find out there was no cementery there, would you blame them or yourself for not doing the research and panicking?

That's not what the hackers want though. all they wanted is to promote their filthy scams with the help of the big names companies and influencers. That only be possible or it has a higher chance to fool people when you let those Big-time guys tweet for you. Thankfully Twitter has able to detect such fraud and minimized the damage or else they will gonna compensate it if someone gonna lose something big. I think the only thing the hacker missed is they only wrote their post in one sentence without constructing it well in the other pages.

Hackers always come in new ways, trying to break into the security of the site they want to restore. In this case, when the latest news related to hacking wallet from Elon Must, it is increasingly convinced that the online world will not be far from fraud and interpretation. When they join forces and form a new force to make people aware of the importance of truly safe security. Even hacking can surpass what has happened before.

Sounds easy but you do really think of that hackers havent consider such stuff? Of course they do but to arrange all things up then its quite hassle on my part as being a hacker.
You wouldnt mind too many things or too complicated but rather they do directly to make scamming attempt once they do able to grasp out one of these accounts
yet they do know that they can benefit it out directly without the need of complicating things up.
This is correct, hackers like these have interest in their specific benefit, just imagine yourself in such position, you gain access to a huge amount of high profile twitter accounts, you have to think your next move, ask for money or try to take a jab at an entire industry that you probably even support (by using btc) that will recover eventually? The most reward / risk ratio falls on the former.

Imagine if Elon Musk , Binance, Coinbase, Coindesk, Finex, CZ, Justin and all these other hacked exchange accounts and Influence People were tweet blasting about SEC raids, exchange hacks, funds and Something Bad About Crypto etc.
They could've shorted Crypto Market and will be around $8600/Btc by now. All Alt Coin Will Down.
Except exchanges have KYC and could have very quickly reacted to it, like temporarily freezing withdrawals until they find the culprit's accounts. Plus there's no guarantee that the price would be crashed so hard, it's pretty obvious to most people that such strange tweets are fake. Owners of twitter accounts could react in minutes, deleting the tweets and making a statement. The hackers could have gotten more money if they sold this attack to governments, I'm sure China and Russia would pay millions for a chance to stir more conflict in the West, especially in the US. And it could have been done in a way to make hacking less obvious, and people would immediately start making conspiracy theories that there was no hacking, and the tweets were real.

It was clear, hackers used the big names and good reputation of companies and influencers to deceive their followers. This is a very valuable lesson, even a certified account is not guaranteed to be free from scams, we must be really vigilant. In addition, if only one or two accounts are hacked, it looks like it won't be easy to find out, but this hacking together and makes a lot of people who quickly realized. I also salute on Twitter who immediately take appropriate anticipatory steps, so that this fraud is immediately interrupted.

Users are not that dumb and they identified the massive hack in a short period of time and the hackers was not interested in crashing the price of BTCitcoin but they wanted to scam anyone possible to send the coins promising them to multiply them in a short period and they very well know there will be idiots who are greedy and will fall for them and they were successful from what i understand from the reports that are coming up. Because of This type of Hacker Industry show Bad. tomorrow all News coverings This and New Investor will affected
These hacks will not affect the BTCitcoin market but it will affect twitter as it will loose its reputation if these kind of massive hacks happen regularly.

Lol... Just as scammers, hackers too are in for selfish business, there interest of course is to destroy by cheating out their ways, this is unfortunate. The Twitter hackers had more knowledge than you know, they decided to use it for illegal activity.

Well, this just means that Twitter security is still not safe and this proves that no technology is safe. And what I read is that it does happen already in the past, twitter and google had it before. They just simply saved the users password in plaintext which is too easy to hack every single account. The recent hacks didn't actually budge that much of the price and Bitcoin is still in the $9k-ish+ level of price in the past few weeks.

I agree with you, the hacker could use that accounts for a wise move, and not for the way they use them, it could be really bad, he could even start a world war with twitter. But was fun to see how he offered to double the btc, lol, the old scammy move.

Thsi recent hack on twitter makes me to begin asking the question, do we really need password? What about private key to this kind of service that will not allow super Admin to gain access to individual account. I think a solution that everyone will be in charge of their account as against relying on central control should be implemented.

It's impossible to fix a problem like this on centralised services. Your exchanges and online wallets are all vulnerable to this kinds of hacks.
It would've been possible for the hackers to execute an attack like that but the value of the money probably wouldn't shift too much. Notice how the tweets were debunk quickly and I would assume if an influential figure who hasn't been into Bitcoin were to tweet something like this, people would be a lot more skeptical. Eitherways, they made a good sum of Bitcoins and it could've been worse if they tweeted something that could've potentially undermined the national security.

I'm not a twitter user so for reading this happened already on the past but still they didn't secure their site it means that we cannot trust them with valuable information, so maybe this is a sort of warning to all their user to not put any deep information regarding on their selves since this could be used for certain bad things against them, But I'm glad it didn't affect the price since sometimes issue like this will be used just to create fud.
