Then thank the Heavens when GA finally got the transfer feature, albeit not via cloud.

Oh wow. So they actually finally added some very basic features huh. I wouldn't know as the last time I actually used GA was like 2 years ago as I immediately jumped ship when I found out that there were far better alternatives.

No cloud feature is fine though in my opinion. Really not a fan of having all of my 2fa keys on some company's servers.

2FA Authenticator             source code                Cloud backup              Recomendable           Device

Google Authenticator          Not sure                         No                                     No                        Android
OP, your review on the Google Authenticator as not to be trusted doesn't sit well with me. The simple reason being that I have been using the GA as my 2FA for three years now and I haven't had any issues with all the sites I have used it on. Periodically, I get texts of hackers trying to break into those accounts but without any success. So, I am asking "what is wrong with the GA?" If it has kept hackers off those accounts, it should be trusted. And I believe a lot of users with agree with me on this.

I didn't even know there are also some applications of Two Factor authentication available, so also only using google authenticator and so far its works well and didn't encounter problems except when I lost my phone in one exchange website I actually lock my account because I don't have the google authenticator and there are some websites that don't really offer a recovery or it is going to be a long process to recover it.

It's actually a bit unreliable since the authenticator is only on android and im not really sure if the google extension google authenticator is actually safe to use.

GA isn't limited to Android. They are also in the iOS App Store. The extension you are talking about is totally unrelated to Google Authenticator. It doesn't even have "Google" in the name. Its just an extension called "Authenticator", which is offered by a third party: https://authenticator.cc

Got it, I actually use it for weeks but I'm worried if it's actually safe to use that authenticator especially in google chrome extensions.

I end up going back to the google authenticator on android which I guess most of the people use. Or maybe it is just popular because it is made by google.
