Hi guys

I have been looking into the case of a Hiker who was found deceased on the PCT in Florida
He was found in 2018, there are countless photographs of him, yet so far nobody has come forward to put a name to him.

Now the reason i came to this forum

He had among his possessions a notebook

In that notebook were :

Some apparent coding ideas relating to p2p and bitcoin/cryptocurrency

Some strategies for a game called Screeps

Some formulae for the recipes of protein wafers

Then a strange set of references
Algae pool
Roach motel
Nanites guild
Player stock market
Are these familiar as bitcoin related terms?
Or
Are they more likely to relate to Screeps?

He told fellow hikers that he had worked for 10 years in the tech industry in New York
He was clearly quite comfortable with java and blockchain

I have some scans from the notebook if they would assist anyone

Does anybody have any hunch as to a guy who frequented the bitcoin or blockchain landscape prior to 2018 but then dropped off the grid??

This case has pretty much taken over my waking hours as i just cannot believe that not a soul out there can put a name to this man

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thankyou

The "stranger" phrases look like something related to a game - especially the stock market idea and the guild.

Although nantes look to be things small - typically things similar to the description of nanobots but I don't think that's helpful.

Has he not got any information on his machine about his name or address? If you're trying to find his identity you could try to scrape his saved WiFi logins and see if he had a personal WiFi hub with its original name that the company could help trace down...

A lot of people come through here and stay for varying amounts of time so I don't know if anyone would remember him well, if you search his machine for "wallet.dat" or "electrum" you might be able to see if he's got a btc address people might recognise (but i wouldn't share this with anyone).

That's the mystery....

He was found on a hiking trail

He had no I.D
No wallet
$3500 cash
No phone or device

He had the trail names 'Denim' and 'mostly Harmless'

16 people spoke to him on the trail
Most of them got photos with him......the thing that nobody has yet got is his name!

All we have is his notebook of coding and blockchain ideas
And the few snippets he told others

Perhaps there is a news publisher out there who's posted something about this man you could contact?

Lots of people have gone off the grid every year. The thing is, even if your notebook has something related to his keys/seed(s), the only thing you could probably help with is give it to his family. Maybe these are some places they/he frequented or had a very good memory of.. so the family may be able to connect the dots themselves if that's the case.

The strange set of references otherwise probably do not mean anything related to Bitcoin, unless he used them as codes.

Do not post any more of those words, because it can be part of a seed for the recovery of his Bitcoin wallet. If you find the identity of the person, his family might need that to decipher his seed and to recover his Crypto currencies. That might be worth a lot of money, if he stashed a lot of coins in a wallet somewhere.

Why did you not just finger print the guy and see if something pops up on his identity, linked to his finger prints? Good luck... it would be better to deal with a trusted Crypto expert and not some random anonymous person on the Internet.  Tongue

A lot of cash for someone to go hiking with.

Here's more about this case, including pictures of his notes.

Do not post any more of those words, because it can be part of a seed for the recovery of his Bitcoin wallet. I

Too late Tongue
So how long or duration does it stay to be unable to decipher someone wallets, if there is any idea about that, please let me know, because I haven't heard of any means of deciphering wallets for restoration and it's duration before the decipher process works.
