I also like bitcoin because it helps me a lot before when I am not using bitcoin I can't buy things I want but when I enter the world of crypto it gives me a chance to get what I want and what I need. This is a somehow similar experience with my friends because we entered the world of crypto at the same time.

I have to say that I'm involved with Bitcoin for almost 8 years now and for me the answer is definetely yes. I don't understand the term honest being used in the opening post. How does you segregate honest money and black money. If you say money issued through the bank is honest money, then I say it is wrong. Now each and everything is associated with data, and banks are the profit makers of the same.

In simple when someone goes for a loan, the bank pays certain percentage (~10%) to the central banking authority. The authority provides the right to issue the amount that's been requested as loan. That means if $10000 is requested as loan, then the bank pays $1000 to the central authority. It gives authentication to provide $10000 to the person requesting loan. Here nothing is transferred just the data. So what the bank has spend is $1000, and when it gets back it receives $10000 along with the interest.

This way with $1000 the banks circulate ten times the amount. So nothing is honest, to eliminate this intermediary bitcoin is essential in my opinion.

Government can impose tax in bitcoin holder if they want.Yes,government can't track you easily because of the blockchain technology that you used anonymously but if you're going to cash out your bitcoin and you need to exchange it first into fiat money then the government can trace your transaction through their banks or remittance center. Totally true. Thanks for mentioning that Venezuela needs Bitcoin due to the hyperinflation that it is going through. Bitcoin can help the citizens of my country to earn an income, we have a high unemployment figure since before the coronavirus and now it has worsened. Our internet service has ranked among the worst in Latin America. What makes it difficult for many things but not impossible. The taxation depends on the country you reside, if they are actively monitoring the progress of bitcoin, they can create or mandate a law that covers the taxation for bitcoin transfers or cashout into their jurisdiction.

It's an amazing source to transfer the money from one part of the world to another without compromising time/privacy/excess fee and all.

First and foremost, we don’t just look at the price movement of Bitcoin. It’s definitely about the real and positive use cases of it. What I really liked about Bitcoin is the full transparency of the transactions through the disruptive blockchain technology. It cannot be tampered and definitely the most secured way in sending and receiving funds online.

Governments probably don't find bitcoin as an effective tool to help the economy of a country grow due to its volatility. As they can't collect taxes from bitcoin transactions, they can just benefit those local businesses and not on the centralized transactions. You don't have to convince someone to get into BTC. Same goes for precious metals. Some people simply don't think a precious metal should have any value at all. Others use gold as a money laundering tool.

Honest people are not afraid of central authority and dishonest people are also not afraid of central authority. Because with central authority or no central authority. There are illegal activities.

With the presence of third party exchanges, government can easily track people's transaction by implementing kyc.  Blockchain transparency is also a great help to it.  Aside from P2P and underground market, if the person is transacting with registered merchants, they can be easily traced.

Here's the thing, bitcoin is not actually anonymous for people to actually hide themselves from the world. Remember how Silk Road was taken down despite their usage of Bitcoin? They are reborn? Silk Road 2.0 and 3.0 was taken down too.

There are more anonymous crypto currencies than bitcoin so I don't think we should always talk about people wanting to use it to cover their tracks, still, do we need it? I respect your opinion but doesn't mean people using decentralized currencies means they want to hide something, can't I just have a crypto for investing? It is not always the anonimity that we take account into, it is the profit. Just look how it move in the pandemic, with the right decisions we could earn a lot by taking that dump as an advantage.

Another thing is that not all of the people even want it. In our country not even quarter of our population are using bitcoin. The reason is that they are not getting benefits from cryptocurrency transactions. They can't collect taxes because it is centralized and its anonymity will really make them struggle on finding those transactions. Taxes from bitcoins are really the urge of some governments that's why they are legalizing it, but not all countries have that knowledge about bitcoin.

Mass adoption isn't enough. Governments must agree with the idea too. In fiat, if the central bank gets hacked, insurance will just make a case to get your money back.

The world definitely can live without Bitcoin. A lot of countries could just stick in physical money and still continue to grow its economy without this bitcoin technology.

Yes it may be advantage on p2p from one country to another. This is one of the benefit having the bitcoin. Aside from that as mention about the transaction cost from service fee of the banks and remittances would relatively higher than to using bitcoin. However, there are also problems when it comes to acquiring bitcoin and that is by doing KYC. Most of exchanges are doing KYC on all of their users. I think Bitcoin is not a place to invest in the long term because as the creators of this topic say "do we need bitcoin?" I think what we need is a blockchain system not bitcoin
Bitcoin is not as physical as gold and is not backed up with real money or goods
This is my prediction that one day bitcoin will not be valuable and will be replaced by a cryptocurrency that is recognized by all countries and also has better blockchains in terms of transaction speed and transaction fees.

Let's move backward to those years before Bitcoin came out. Within that years, jobs and businesses are not so digitalized but I guess the economy are just doing fine here in my country. So, I believe we can really live without Bitcoin.
But how? For those people who've been living since the day it came out until now, I don't think it would be easy for them to live without it. For others, it serves as bread and butter and its really difficult for them to lose it. Bitcoin is the most valuable cyrptocurrency and can be converted into fiat anytime we need to. There's already selected countries who legalized it because their Government believes that it could help the people as well as their economy. To others, this may have brought negative thoughts but it isn't enough to think that Bitcoin is really not good. There's a saying that goes, "We cannot please everybody". So, let's just leave it to them and respect their views about it. As long as Bitcoin exists and we are still believing and trusting it, gaining profits/benefited from it, then the world definitely needs it.

I have passion in bitcoin because bitcoin it's decentralized and know arm's of government or agency that has authority over bitcoin,therefore cryptoccurrency transaction or business, the business is what you can control by yourself without involving government through license or permit letter for establishment,that's the reason today bitcoin keep on expanding to the world. But that does mean without bitcoin people can't survive in their domain.

With the traditional currency countries have begun to print on their own without anything backing the currency. This has made the currencies just a printed paper, maybe if it has got the limitations it could've served good. Right now people want the hard earnings to be secure and stay without getting into any major collapse as few country currencies experienced in recent months. That's the problem while some people think bitcoin is like a double-edged sword. In a government transparency has its own limits and not all can be transparent. In fact, for a tax, the government can do it if they work together, for example, on a local exchanger. The problem is bitcoin is decentral, while the government wants to be central where all actions can be controlled and not in a negative direction such as money laundering, black market and others.

Yep, people always wants to hide something, but it all depends on what they are hiding. It’s not everyone that is making use of Bitcoin that is bad. Just like me, all my life I don’t even know what the dark web looks like and I’m not interested in knowing, I just mind my business and I’m not a bad guy lol. So, everybody is not the same. And there are people who like making use of cryptocurrency because the fees that banks and other transfer agencies charges them are too much.

It’s just like me, if I’m about to send money abroad, don’t expect me to go the bank and start filling papers and paying high fees to make use of Western Union, I can’t do that when I have Bitcoin and can simply just use my mobile wallet to send the money in a minute.

Bitcoin is very much welcome in commercial use and from the perspective of being used illegally, that's changing into the mainstream day by day. But i am not in favour of the thing is that, we can use bitcoin to leave in a cashless society.
First of all Bitcoin is now also illegal in many countries.
So many people storing their Bitcoins by hiding it from the government.
Moreover ther are many other mode of payments which are also available and are genuinely approved by government to use upon.
I can say Bitcoin is just like a Secret treasure that we can store and gradually the price of it will also increase with the increase in time.

Bitcoin has helped me a lot as well often in daily needs. In addition to my own family, my friends are also learned to participate in the goal with Bitcoin's party through my own efforts to educate them. it all depends on where you live. If you spend most of your life on the internet, bitcoin is a must
but if you more often live in the real world, in traditional markets, on the streets, bitcoin is not a good choice to be a medium of transactions
although there is a bitcoin ATM machine, physical currency is more convenient
