Only have his (probably fake) Facebook profile so far, but maybe we can get him with a bait link to grab his IP or something, or social engineer him into blowing his identity somehow..

Reputation board deserve for the purpose  for the reputation of the forum member. As you are searching someone to resolve your problem you should post it on service section. I think you post deserve to service announcement section.

Easiest method to resolve this:  Have her smash you and upload it on the hub.  Then reply with a link and  a " beat you to it".

Just sayin', nudes aren't going to ruin her life but they could sure better it.

are these certainly pictures of your friend? I occasionally receive blackmailing emails from some "hackers" where they say that they have my nude pics and more compromised materials against me. I never answer to that, also I have not received any proof that they possess any pics of me.
if he/she has already received compromising materials, based on that, he would have to know where and when the pictures were taken. this could shorten the list of potential blackmailers.

I don't think that there you can do anything with fake FB account as the only clue. I assume you checked the mutual friends between her and this acc.

Chat the fake account and fool him that you wanted to buy a nude photo of her, and send him/her a link where to "contact" you.

She says that the guy she originally sent the pics to a long time ago is dead, died, and has been dead for quite a while now..

I also think it is someone that knows her, because he is trying to blackmail her for more pics/vids, which is weird to me.. He isn't asking for any kind of payment like $$ or BTC, but more pics..

Although it sounds hard, I would rather contact with local police to get help. I don't know which country you belong to; corrupted countries would get a pass for such guy though. The blackmailer tries to take the issue seriously in such cases. I know it's hard to go local authorities in such issue but that's the best i would recommend.
Anyway, if you want to trick him, look for some hacker forum. I am in such a facebook group. Let me post the problem there and get a guy if possible.

Well it varies on the country, But my friend has experience with our local authorities about also her issue about blackmailing with some kind of nudes, But the difference is she is sure that it is made up by his ex. Her case was easily responded by our anti-cybercrime group she said. She's fine now and the issue is gone. I'm sure there's a hacker that can help you with this case, Maybe try finding on another tech-related forum, Someone will surely take the job since you will be paying for its services.

I also doubt they would do anything but reporting to the police or relevant authorities might really be important, even if not for anything but for reference purposes, as no one knows who the person is or what their next move would be.

You won't find a house address just by their ip, unless you know what you're doing. My job does entitle risk and security for my own sake, you can feel free to risk it but high value information always will come at a price, even more if it's for a specific service. If you have facebook profile image of this guy you can run image search on google/yandex to get information if he is using real photo, but I doubt that.
This is free however so you can try it.
You can also check same image for exif and possible traces.

This is serious stuff, and if police can't help her, she can hire other people to track him.
I am sure he made some mistakes or will make mistakes in communication.

Name is a spin of a famous gangster/outlaw..
IP is a VPN..

I'll try to get a dump of their entire conversation..
