Hey everybody, I was wanting to find out some info. about CPU mining. Now, before anyone and everyone says it, I know it will not be profitable. This is just more or less a fun thing for me to try out. What options do I have? What is better, to mine a tiny fractional amount of BTC or go for mining LTC or other alts? What sites could help me (besides buying into cloud mining sites)? I am not very computer savvy, and I realize how ridiculous that sounds when talking about mining BTC. Thanks.

Hi,
The best cpu mined coin is prime coin. Its not very profitable but easy to setup. For more info try the ppc/primecoin forum.
Happy mining,

Also be aware that all pools you could join have a minimum payout treshold. With Bitcoin, you'd never in your lifetime cross that minimum payout, so you're indeed much better off mining a suitable altcoin.
