I’m sure that all of us are planning to wager on the upcoming USA elections, and Poloniex has decided to make ERC-20 tokens wherein you have two options either buy the Trump Wins or Trump Lose tokens, and then make money from the election results. However I don’t understand the line where they say if the opposite candidate (Biden) wins, then the coin value plunges to zero, so how will we make money if we’re holding the other token (Trump Lose one)? can anyone explain this?.

As ERC-20 tokens, the election assets value $1 or $0, depending on the event’s results. Holding 10 TRUMPWIN tokens value $10 USD if President Trump wins the November election. In contrast, holding 10 TRUMPLOSE tokens plunge to a value of $0 if the candidate wins.

From what I Just have read in this thread, there would be two tokens called TRUMPWINS and TRUMPLOSE. So you are going to choose what side you think is going to win, and whatever results in the opposite of the winning side would be demonetized. It is gambling, IMO.

I think Trump Lose tokens = Biden wins so if you are holding trump win token but Trump actually lost the election then the value of trump win will plunge to 0 but if trump wins the election then the value of trump lose will go to 0

I think this one is very complicated, you are like betting on the coin as one coin could certainly go worthless, so instead why not just look at the sportsbook and bet on the candidate that you think will win in the upcoming election.

This is certainly a gamble, if you with trump wins and he end up losing then automatically the token will lose value which means your money is down the drain, but what happens after the election and Trum ended up winning the election , Will the price of Trump win be sustained and will the token continue to exist or this is just temporary thing? It's really simple, you go to Poloniex and buy a Trump Win or Trump Lose token. Right now they trade at 0.4 and 0.6 USD respectively. After the election, the token with the correct result will be valued at $1, the other token will be valued at $0. The tokens are traded freely, so their price will change depending on how the odds look. Right now polls favor Biden, so Trump Win token is cheaper, because it's less likely to win. You can profit from it even before elections by just trading it like any other token.

Simply a gambling game masked with the creation of two tokens. It must have brought some confusion to those looking into this particular token, so if one wants to make money on the election results, I'd say just place your money on a gambling site that offers this kind of line and see how many better selections and odds are there for you to choose from. I have nothing against this gig from Poloniex but I honestly don't see the difference of this to what a sportsbook offers.

Many exchanges do it. Yobit is launching pumps and dumps of their own tokens and banning people from chatbox for criticizing it. There will always be good and bad businesses.

They're all saying that Biden has won already and it's all over different networks and media articles.

Even with all of these proclamations that we're seeing on the media, the supreme court still has the final say. But what do you think, is there any chance that the result will be changed?

 I understand that some people may not feel comfortable with "projected" winner idea, but that is the case until you get the official papers and even if Biden was the legit winner without any argument over it, he still wouldn't have gotten the papers just yet, official stuff takes a looooong time. What we have here is "if nothing changes, Joe Biden is the winner" situation and if Trump campaign sues and wins, sure it could reverse however that is a big if and that is a court case need to be first heard and accepted and then served just to change everything which I doubt would be the case, so far Supreme court that Trump himself packed literally until a week left into elections just threw out all cases of voter fraud from even consideration let alone see it. Hence you can safely assume that, all counts that are counted so far is enough to make Biden the president and thats all we care, from now on every single vote could go to Trump and reaminders wouldn't be enough, which is why between supreme court ignoring and results being enough, Biden is now considered the "projected" winner without a doubt. Official results will obviously come at a later date but there is no reason to keep a holding your breath for a miracle to happen for Trump.

Obviously it looks more like gambling, but what I don't seem to comprehend is the point where OP explained that TRUMPLOSE tokens will go to zero if Biden wins, sounds awkward and the most baseless kind of token I've seen in crypto history. I do hope this is a prank and not listed tokens, if listed, then its probably a dent on Poloniex reputation to list such gambling tokens which have no decent project vision.

For sure, once you call "wagering" it is gambling. Biden won already and I assume that TRUMPLOSE token would already be zero.
