I saw this press release:

ESPN Global to launch The Future of E-sports – The Perfect Pairing Of Online Gaming and Blockchain

Quote
London, U.K. : E-Sports Programming Network (ESPN Global) recently integrated online gaming with Blockchain technology. It is a unique Blockchain based gaming revolution, wherein you can win cash by winning battles and tournaments. With their premium membership, one gets priority access to slots, and super early access to the most sought after games. The platform is under pre-launch phase and later will allow players to make deposits and withdrawals using bitcoin and other variety of crypto-currencies.

Crypto-currency payment specialists "Cryptopay" is being used by ESPN Global, to make the process a lot simpler, swift and secure.

As for ESPN Global, it is the mobile e-Sports platform based in UK. It is run by ESPN Global Corporation Ltd., headquartered in Poland. It offers some of the most popular games in one application. It is a format where users choose a game and can join a group of participants. Users can compete with each other in real time and winner is announced on the basis of highest score.

“As per a research done by 3EA Limited, a global strategic management consulting group, e-sports and online gaming is a $140 billion global industry driven predominantly by digital micro-transaction economies, which we believe will benefit immensely from the integrity and resilience of the Blockchain technology," said Mr. Chris Parker, one of the Directors of ESPN Global. With the Blockchain system, you can verify and support extreme levels of simple transactions without the need for a centralized platform, and this is what industries are seeing as the most attractive feature.

Apart from this, ESPN Global is also integrating the recently launched game Satoshi’s Treasure. This game is based on Blockchain, and is named after Satoshi Nakamoto, the father of bitcoin. As per Mr. Parker, “With this $1 million puzzle game Satoshi's Treasure, we are promising a bounty-laden bitcoin wallet whose keys will be divided into 1,000 fragments, spawning a global hunt for the prize pieces.”

In further conversation with Mr. Parker, he told us about the future planning of this incorporation. He said "Apart from further advancement in our application and integration of more exciting Blockchain based games, our Incorporation is intended to launch IEO (Initial Exchange Offering) of our own SGT (Smart Gaming Token) based on ERC-20 platform, once we built a good E-sport community. From the day we start our operations, we will be giving airdrops of SGTs to all registered players as a gift. Not only this, all players who will loose money by participating in any games or tournaments, their losses will be covered by our corporation and their ERC wallets will be credited with our SGT airdrops which will be equivalent to their losses.”

As per ESPN Global, the current valuation of SGT airdrop is $0.001, which will increase with time as our community grows.

For their premium members, ESPN provides 2X SGTs against the amount of super-contest. This means one can get back every penny one has invested and this can be used to bet and earn more. Also, they said that if their premium members lose a game, he will get back his initial investment in the form of SGT airdrops.

A user also gets a referral bonus for every player joining through their referral link. All earnings can be directly encashed.

The company also announced the launch of Game Developers Console by January, 2022 where Gaming Studios and Independent Game Developers across the globe can launch their games on the platform. Interesting gaming experiences to look out for, indeed.

https://pressat.co.uk/releases/espn-global-to-launch-the-future-of-e-sports-the-perfect-pairing-of-online-gaming-and-blockchain-9165b38bc9a25b4b74d0ef2e73356f4d/

So it seems that another multi national sports companies are entering the picture and taking online gaming to the next level but this kind of offering. I think this will be great for online gaming and it could bring closer to mass adoption.

What do you guys think?

Any money that is coming to the market could be called 'mass adoption'. And I think the title is somewhat misleading, the future is already here, on-line gaming is taking the world specially that we are in a pandemic. As everyone is at home, so it could also be called adoption already.

And based on this article, The Incredible Growth of eSports [+ eSports Statistics]. Maybe ESPN is just another company riding on the on the crypto train.

I really find it great that the gaming industry is now showing attention to blockchain and also starting to adopt it in the industry, as well as cryptocurrency. Online gaming is becoming more popular in the current generation and with this opportunity, I think it will give blockchain and crypto a little bit of spotlight for mass adoption.

However, I don't really expect that this will receive so much hype in e-sports (just because I feel like I have seen similar news but it did not receive much attention compared to the expectations). But regardless of that, it's still nice that they are open to innovation and this kind of adoption in the gaming industry.

I don't want to sound bad but it sounds too ambitious, I doubt the value is going to increase when all of the losses are given back through airdrops. There's way too many incentives and it could bring the price down very fast since altcoins usually don't have a lot of trading volume. Then the announcement of a new platform at the end for the game developers, it's going to take a lot of time before they could get the attention of most game developers since there's already enough platforms to choose from (steam, epic, etc)

Probably ESPN will come up with their new lauch soon, and further it'll make them have their own native tokens for gaming purpose. This is a good start for the blockchain technology getting widened on the media platform associated with sports and gaming. Already we've got P2P and so many other gaming access online. Here the winning rewards for membership will play a big role.

Nice, good job for ESPN. It's a known sports company that's mainly focusing in sports. The recognition for esports is already a big thing for the esports community. And with the integration of it through blockchain, they even made it better.
Sponsors are coming for sure just like the traditional sports setup but for us esports fans, they just made it better and a dream come true for gamers.

It will sure get some attentions of gamers and also who already familiar with blockchain, it can also get support from businesses who are into watching ESPN. Sport enthusiast and blockchain supporters are still hoping to get a advance support from popular companies to make it more known by other people who are still into traditional way, it can also help the existing games as well crypto based gambling casino to be known that they already exist, it can give chance to more players to enjoy more gaming experience in these Pandemic.

casino is sometimes called gaming but i think its different from a literal video game and i dont think they are going to be involved on this project but thats fine because casino's are already known on the blockchain space but esports ? no not really   .  this isnt all about pandemic but this is a long term plan in partnership with the blockchain technology   . it gets my attention but im not a gamer , im only familiar on how blockchain work  . more importantly this gets the attention of gamers that arent familiar with the blockchain

What do you guys think?

Online Gambling is already in the way of mass adoption since there are no physical casinos open right now and therefore people are exploring their options , there are some people who are just discovering the benefits of crypto related casinos , added privacy and more variation , there are number of sites that they can try , when these companies are coming in the race , we have to understand that there is cut throat competition now a days , most of the online Gambling casinos don't work as you would expect them to , it's all about :
Stability
Trust
Privacy
Reliability
How many years they are in the game
Preference
Etc...
Therefore they might have to wait a while to attract customers and such . But this is no doubt a good start since they are already trusted by a number of people.

Online gaming is becoming more popular in the current generation and with this opportunity, I think it will give blockchain and crypto a little bit of spotlight for mass adoption.

That is also my initial thought when I read the news, some spotlight again and then the effects will be felt later.

I don't want to sound bad but it sounds too ambitious, I doubt the value is going to increase when all of the losses are given back through airdrops. There's way too many incentives and it could bring the price down very fast since altcoins usually don't have a lot of trading volume. They are already a big company to begin with, so taking big risk and being ambitious is already ingrain with their business principles. And I think that's one of their goals, to compete with steam and epic and make it more competitive.

Probably ESPN will come up with their new lauch soon, and further it'll make them have their own native tokens for gaming purpose. This is a good start for the blockchain technology getting widened on the media platform associated with sports and gaming. Already we've got P2P and so many other gaming access online. That is one possibility, so we will have to see. If they become successful, this could be a good option in the horizon for them.

Sponsors are coming for sure just like the traditional sports setup but for us esports fans, they just made it better and a dream come true for gamers.

Maybe because e-sports is really taking a lot of notice in the last two years. Now it's just a niche, but ESPN entering the picture will give it more boost, win-win situation for us and for ESPN.

Can't help but really doubt them just riding on Crypto as well as online gaming. I like the idea of official online tournaments though don't get me wrong, and using crypto for payments would make it a lot easier for people with its efficiency, but hmm I dunno, anything with blockchain to me right now is just enjoying Bitcoins fame. Plus, they want to compete with other online platforms like steam, together with the blockchain venture? This might prove more difficult than it looks like imo.

Still, Goodluck with their venture though. I might keep myself updated with their news from time to time since I want to join the said tournaments they're going to release. I just hope that they are able to host both Western Side and Eastern side properly, even if matchmakings were separated between the two regions since internet connections are a pain in the ass.

they are now realizing the benefits of crypto in online gaming. but if nothing else, this update will drive crypto adoption. most of these gamers are not hard to teach about how to deal with crypto.
as they are already using some sort of coins in some games. and they have been in more complicated tasks. so am assuming integrating crypto is not a big deal for them but actually this will encourage a lot as finally those coins will have actual value in the market.

For the record though, they are not the first one to ride on Crypto and for sure they have studied the market very carefully before joining. The money they projected maybe enough for them to like spend money, marketing, people etc, everything that will make ESPN be part of the future of E-sports.

They can't avoid going against or compete with Steam, and it's time for Steam to response with this because we all know how big and influential ESPN is.

For sure Steam will have its response to this. What if Steam take time and resumes the acceptance of bitcoin? that's a possibility which shall be applied again and I'd be happy to see it back as Steam possibly announces the payment method for bitcoin that was once removed.

I guess it's time to change career as e-sports and crypto is integrating this time, joking aside. It can't be denied that e-sports have gone through a lot and it's becoming serious this time and this integration makes it more viable and legit in the eyes of those people belittling e-sports and crypto.

Good news! When a big brand name like ESPN joins the blockchain based e-sports bandwagon, it will definitely create good awareness among the mass about blockchain and cryptocurrency in general. So it will be a net positive for us!

The e-sports gaming industry is already huge and new entrants like ESPN will take it another notch higher through their existing marketing channels. Fingers crossed!

https://pressat.co.uk/releases/espn-global-to-launch-the-future-of-e-sports-the-perfect-pairing-of-online-gaming-and-blockchain-9165b38bc9a25b4b74d0ef2e73356f4d/

So it seems that another multi national sports companies are entering the picture and taking online gaming to the next level but this kind of offering. I think this will be great for online gaming and it could bring closer to mass adoption.

What do you guys think?

This strikes me as a press release with lots of buzzwords and content that is carefully tuned to impress an uninformed reader. Maybe I misunstand it, but this strikes me as them launching a fairly bog standard online casino type facility that has slightly more interactive features, as opposed to the intense and cutting edge esports (think: CS:GO, Battlegrounds, COD, Fifa) that most people think of when that word is used. All the junk around airdrops and tokens is just another way for them to raise when they might see as easy money - start with a big name like ESPN and maybe lots of fools will fund the whole money pool for them? This whole setup seems perfectly engineered and marketed to a certain audience who might be easily tricked. It doesn't seem original or special at all, but they'll probably have a nice graphics budget.

What do you guys think?
I am interested in the new concept that ESPN Global offers, of course my interest is about tournaments and sports games at ESPN Global, most gambling sites in the process of withdrawing must leave a minimum balance of $10, does not seem to apply to ESPN Global sites with maximum withdrawal not limited free this is interesting to me and also they offer affordable crypto for depositing like #Ripple, maybe I will try to join them to find a new experience of course in sports betting on the ESPN Global site.

Anyway thanks for this information OP, after all they have branches in ESPN GLOBAL KUALA MUD It's easier for me to communicate with them via telegram & whats, even though they are from London and Poland.

Not really a positive because if i'm not mistaken this ESPN Global isn't related to the big company ESPN we all know. I think they're only using similar acronyms to make it seem like they're related to the other company.

Also the article didn't linked the correct website, here's their actual site.

I'd reckon it's more like tournaments against others from different countries, or just plain ol tournaments where people could join freely as long as they sign up without any limits. Kinda like it that way, but it seems like it'd be a vain. Implementation of proper connections and servers so players won't lag should be a priority instead, even if they were to just do it per country. Look at League's CLASH tournament. Now that was a great idea and was rather enjoyable.

Still, seems like the idea was last year, but it hasn't really made any big waves or anything. Kinda sad that it just seemed like they just jumped on the bandwagon, that or they're still under development.

They have to be really good though since a lot of eSports tournament are already established and it will be difficult to get in late and ESPN isn't really a likely candidate to host an eSports tournament.

^ Probably but I think we have been waiting for this for a very long time now. Before, no one ever believed that esports and cryptocurrency or blockchain could be associated but look at that. In this era, cryptocurrency with esports products or services are most likely to succeed and this is not speculation anymore. We’ve seen a lot of esports projects that became successful in connecting the two things. If you guys heard about Axies, it is a strategy and card game and a game that will let you breed your characters and then fight in tournaments and raise your Match Making Ratio just like DOTA and other  E-sports games. And as we can see, it became a success and this will be the start of this industry.
