Yesterday I bought a piece of smoked cod fillet. I didn't feel hungry, so I thought I would save it for today, and I placed it on top of the cooler. I forgot to put it inside, and went to bed. I woke up in the middle of the night, and I noticed a blue light - it was the cod, and the whole piece was emitting the light. I have never seen this before, and I checked on Wikipedia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bioluminescence

I notice this phrase - "Aposematism is a widely used function of bioluminescence, providing a warning that the creature concerned is unpalatable."
I don't think I am going to eat it, and I will take a photo tonight and ask the supermarket to comment. My scientific knowledge is a bit limited and focused, so I would be interested in some comments from the more learned members here.

Even if doesn't contain much harmful substances considering how vulnerable it is exposed already I wouldn't advice you to eat it for anything else. We are currently battling Covid-19 as a result of such negligence and nonchalant altitudes. You can just dump it in the refuse and get something else to eat.

I've got a pretty strong digestive system, and I've only been poisoned twice in my life. Once by a hamburger from Burger King, and once by a crab sandwich in the City of London when I was working for the stock exchange. I've got a nice piece of steak, so I'm going to cook that as an alternative. I'm really interested in the blue light though, and I want to find out more about it.

but the way he fears nearly everything in life i think its more of a case of avoiding things.
like avoiding going abroad or vaccines as seen in his other topics

I hoped to take a photo last night, but I could only see a few weal streaky of blue, so obviously I didn't dream it. I moved out into the country into an area with no lighting, and added some heavy curtains to the windows. This increased the blue a little bit, but not enough to make it worth taking a photo. The next stage is to put a description on a web page, and write to the supermarket.

I need to decide on a domain name for it, and for nostalgic reasons, I might revive my old Oil Drum site. We used to sit around a burning oil drum and discuss how to change the world whilst we were waiting for a field auction to start.

but your silly little conspiracy topics this year wont get you much discussion that will end in positive results

lesson to learn
dont leave fish out to grow bacteria for the day.. or by the time it gets dark you will have issues

im still surprised how you think the fact that its blue. dismisses the stupidity of leaving it out to gather bacteria
i dont think you grasp the whole subtle point about keep it chilled and then only take it out when you want to cook it. and then cook it well
