I have these coins for sale: http://ericools.simplesite.comYou are welcome to make offers, however I can't message people here because I'm too new I guess. So message me directly or make sure you aren't blocking new people if you want a reply. I sold one with MinerJones acting as escrow before and that worked out well so I'm willing to do it that way again if desired. I live in North Dakota and am willing to travel as far as Minneapolis to meetup if an in person transaction is desired. I also have a gold platted a 25BTC piece. It's not on there because my picture is pretty bad, but if someone has a serious interest I can go visit my deposit box and take another. That one might justify an in person exchange. I don't really want to trust it to a delivery service. Edit1: Addresses since they are a bit hard to read in the images. 1CAa6P6V - Sale Pending 1caGBBQQ - Sale Pending 134ZcLd2 - Sale Pending 131uTDrV - Sale Pending 1DKhbxAb - SOLD 1CAJ37WK - Sale Pending 136U6eGM - Sale Pending 137gkVVG - SOLD 1CAhx5Tt - SOLD 1AgsonV7 1GdwTe2h

Both have the same first bits: 137gkVVG To all looking at this thread: I researched this collection for another client. All coins are legit, even the 10 and 25. I have not seen them in person though. Happy to help with courier service. Good luck with your sale.

Awe man. You're right I used the wrong picture on the top. Now I have to go through and figure out what coin I missed.
Anyway there is a reason that one is cheaper, it is a bit scuffed up on the back.

Is 1DKhbxAb an error coin? From what I can tell "Casascius" is spelled "Casacius" in some places?
Can you confirm?

Although it was an error on the inkjet print 2011 the majority of those coins had the same background "Casacius" misspelled

You should put them on airtight capsule to protect them from scratch and discoloration. Most your have noticeable scratches. I'm just concern about this gem safety. You can buy copper membership in the forum so that you can post picture in your thread. It will makes easier for visitors to view your coins.
GLWS!

Perhaps I should have. I am not a collector however. I bought these as conversation pieces to show people when I was introducing people to what Bitcoin was back in 2011-2012. They were worth about $5 and I didn't care. I'm still not a collector and would rather have coins on my ledger, but I don't want to destroy something rare that others may value so I'm attempting to sell them for a markup worth my effort and risk rather than peel and destroy them. The one exception being the 10BTC piece I actually bought that just because I thought it looked really cool and it is in a case that has never been opened.

Why are these so "cheap?"
As far as I can tell most sales don't seem to include the fact that they include all bitcoin-forks since they were so early on the blockchain?
I'm not complaining as a buyer, but someday people will figure out these have value.
EDIT: I'm talking in general, not this specific post.

Probably because most collectors arent peeling them, so that pre-fork value is not usually calculated, but sometimes it is Thanks!

the higher the value of BTC, the more money is at risk in reselling a coin. w/ pandemic shipping delays and just dramatically higher value at the mercy of freight companies, the number of buyers for the time being is limited. insurance in almost all cases won't cover lost shipment / theft, and being a bearer instrument logistics of shipping have very asymmetric risk. that said i dont think a coin has sold for below peel value (BTC + forks) though the fork value is only a few percentage points these days.

Because I offered them at a higher price previously and only sold one coin. I want them off my hands. I'm sure time/effort/risk of doing the exchange is probably the major factor. I also live in North Dakota so not a lot of opportunity for local sales. I am not a collector. I bought these as novelty pieces to show people back when I was introducing them to Bitcoin in 2011-2013. I never intended them as an investment and I would personally rather have liquid coins I can trade, sell, or spend as I please. I'm honestly they are not getting more attention, they are a rare piece of Bitcoin history.

The premium value of cas coin especially those brass coin is pegged to fiat value. The price in BTC will be lower as long as BTC value keeps rising and vice versa. And also there are sell-off of casascius recently and it results to too much supply in the market with a low premium coins. Maybe after 2 to 3 years. Casascius value will go up again.
