Contest Period

The selfie contest will begin at 3 AM UTC on July 30th, 2020 (8 PM Pacific Time on July 29th, 2020), and will end at 3 AM UTC on August 6th, 2020 (8 PM Pacific Time on August 5th, 2020).

Winners will be announced at 5 AM UTC on August 8th, 2020 (11 PM Pacific Time on August 7th, 2020).

Contest Rules

1.    All submitted photos must include a clear shot of one or more Ballet wallets and must clearly show a scenic/interesting/cute background. You can choose to cover up your wallet’s QR code for privacy reasons, if you would like.

2.    All submitted images must be at least 2,048 pixels wide. Each submission should include information about the general geographic area where the photo was taken, and a caption if you have one.

3.    By submitting a photo in this contest, you grant Ballet a royalty-free nonexclusive right, in perpetuity, to use the photograph for marketing purposes.

4.    Prize winners may not request a cash substitute for the BTC awarded as prizes in this contest.

5.    Participants must have taken any photo they submit or they must have the rights to submit it. By submitting or tweeting a photograph, participants guarantee that the photograph does not infringe on the copyrights or intellectual property of a third party.

6.      Ballet may decide, in its sole discretion, to suspend the photo contest, disqualify individuals from participating in the contest, refuse to grant prizes, reduce the number of prizes or otherwise interpret the rules of this contest as it sees fit.

I can completely understand why you’d want a selfie pic with one of your Ballet products - ideal for marketing purposes. But I’m not sure if people would be comfortable with this , tbh , I wont be entering the competition, but that’s my personal decision. Having a selfie of myself including my geographical position used as a marketing tool to the world, doesn’t sit comfortably with me in, particularly, as Mopar states , we wouldn’t be traveling far from our residences in these covid times.
Still love the products though

I don’t believe you have to release your identity with the photograph? After all Ballet is meant to be for widespread adoption so this contest is pretty neat. I believe they were just sharing it here as a courtesy for the forum members that collect as you can email them the picture as well

Yep, I assume you don’t put your name to it ! But showing a picture of yourself holding a valuable item , in or very close to where you live , brings security issues personally . It doesn’t take much on the web to match a photo, to find a name and address etc.
Anyway that’s my personal view

I think this is enticing contest but probably few are gonna be uncomfortable to join due to the provisions of sending a selfie. What if only a scenery with the item of ballets? Would that be enough? Some here would probably hesitant especially it quite sensitive to send an address and a matching photo of you.

Can company secured that the losers data sent were not gonna be used for marketing? Its gonna be a frustrating situation. Anyway gonna pass with this. Goodluck in advance to the participants who will joined.

We aren't giving away $3,000 in prizes for a lot of free promotion (ads/coupons/any other targeted direct marketing effort would be more effective than a photo contest). We're holding a contest for our community to show off their camera skills and post interesting photos for other people to see.
