Thank you!
So basically icann has to change their database to a blockchain, otherwise its not possible to trade domains via smart contract? That is real 90ies-thinking ^^
Thus is there any alternativ? Like create its own new blockchain based domain system as .onion did? Obviously i am no expert but there has to a possibility, maybe even connected with a non cencorable new kind of internet?
i already said that things like bitdns.. and yes onions exist, but they require borwser tweaks to look at different DNS services than normal. and that in itself is its flaw(regular internet users cant just access it without browser tweaks)
but if you want to trade traditional domains held on a traditional database. (the public internet domains managed by icann) then you need to get them to change their ways
you can try to become your own DNS like bitdns and onions where you get users to set their browsers to check those special dns services.. but then your just creating your own sub list of domains that are not accessible through the normal dns services linked to icann
your only option to avoid icann. is to become more popular and more accepted than the traditional system.. basically make icann system as irrelevant as myspace is to social media... . and obviously avoid having regulators shut down your system by employers browsers to stop linking to your service
