He even admitted that he bought the telegram group from a scammer, but I think it's just the same guy trying to scam people another time.

DeFi projects are getting their bright spot these days, but only few of them are real and legit. Now, having their title thread as uvwFi- The Real DeFi. Don't believe outright on such claim. Anyone can say they are real but in reality, they are not. And if you checked their website, I don't see any solid foundation for this project but it seems like a money grab to me. No explanation as to whether how they can be the real DeFi platform. The content of the website can be done by an 8th grader.

It looks like this project is indeed related to "xyzFi", because there are some similarities especially about supply. the difference is maybe only in domains that now use ".finance", that makes me most suspicious is that Twitter uVWFi often uses hashtag xyzFi and also both of these projects have an anonymous team.

As DeFi projects are shooting up everywhere, one needs to study if the project is legit or not. Now, Huobi has something like DeFi launchpad, I guess it is better to look at those projects rather than this project claiming to be real DeFi but nothing substantial is presented.
