Got paid 0.865eth today, sold all usdt to fiat today

7.5% to the whole investment profit, only in a week...

You started when eth was 360 usd, 30k upfront and it has been 14 days mining, you got 3.5k back so far? eth now is 440 usd, that is 80 usd more from when you started, 80 means 22%, meaning, if you have invested in coins you would have got a total of 22% of 30k which at moment would be 6600 usd, see, this is a good example that mining in a bullmarket is useless and some people think is good. Also many retailers and people increased the gpus prices due to high demand of idiots. This is going to be 2017-2018 all over, trolls never learn.

You miss one very important thing: Mining is fun and very useful IT experience. I love to take care of my systems, enjoy that heat up my house @ winter. Besides of that i like that i part of the ETH miners, i support the blockchain with MY hashpower, i'm part of the journey!

Not everything is about the money.

hindsight backwards, at the time how could he know ether was going to $400, what he did know is what he could steadily earn via buying the cheap hardware.  he could have grabbed 30k worth of eth and lost half in a dump to $150.   He took the safe path nothing wrong with that

If it crashed to 150 usd then the result would be the same, he would 3x more time to earn those 30k again because profit would crash 3x and that would be a pain for him as he would be paying for the electricity and earnings would be even smaller, the more it rises the better it is as electricity becomes trivial to pay. The end result would be the same, buying coins would still be the better choice no matter how you do.

Suuuure buddy, keep telling yourself that. Ive seen you sprinkle your salt in EVERY mining thread ever since you missed the mining boat. I dont even understand why you hang around in the mining forums if you are sooo butthurt by mining. I cant even call you a troll, a troll atleast does it for the luls, you just ... seem to have no life.

Is that so difficulty to accept the truth? The one that seems butthurt here seems to be you.

I don't see why buying coins is better than mining. Gpu mining can be really safe since my power-off price of eth is 75, and nobody's sure of the future. So even if it goes to 150, I am still gaining profit, just extending my break even time. Holding the coins can be hard because you will never know what price will crash you. If you can't hold it, it means nothing. And most people can't hold it including myself. Some of the people bought at 1200 are still crying if he holds till now, and remember that was a bullish market. I guess people will never learn. Smiley

The same thing can be said for the people who bought for 80 usd and now is 430 usd. It goes both ways in that sense.

It's better to put it this way..

Buying coins can be either heaven or hell

Mining is steady and meaningful to blockchain

If you are so certain about the bull run, why not sell your house and all in eth?

I guess you didn't do that, right?

Just different choice, no need to put buying coins at supremacy

Btw, I love mining lol

Well I never had or owned a house, I'm not stupid to buy one, keeping your money idle is not something I would do, reinvesting my money is what I do. I guess Elon Musk listened to me this year and did the right thing, sold all his properties and reinvested.

Nothing much these days, the profit has been stable at $7.5 per rig after elec,

And regularly I sold them all to usdt.

Currently I am at 17.2% of my breaking even progress, and today is the 19.5th day since I started.

dude if his power is cheap he survives a price crash.

i forgot his power cost.

but i think it was cheap maybe five cents a kwatt.

their is far less risk in gear then in buying coins.

You can automate it bro Smiley .. Google Sheets has easy functions to grab the information. Link it to the explorer and it should be able to get the transactions. Selling price you have to fill yourself as it is different from Exchange to another Smiley.

I'm not saying that. I said, if he had invested in coins, his profit would have been better and that is the truth. Now, if eth prices stays the same then yes he made a better choice going mining, mining is only good if there is no change in the price of that coin.

Hey Bruce,

Thanks for sharing! I really enjoy following your thread.  Smiley

I'm canadian as well and recently started a small mining operation in a barn in the back of my yard. P106 as well, but 090, so mine are 3Gb. I can't mine ETH with that, but RVN has been my holy grail so far and pretty stable in terms of profits. Plus, those cards are so cheap it doesn't require a lot of investment. I order directly from China as well and managed to get my power cost even lower than what you're paying for; $0.045 USD per kWh. This is what makes it profitable - no way it could work with the usual power cost in the US.

Wish I could put 30K like you do, but since I can't, I hope patience will pay! Wink It's far from you in terms of size as a project, but your numbers are a motivation somehow!

I also found the fact somehow else is hosting those rigs for you interesting; maybe it's a service I could offer at some point! I would max out my panel pretty fast, but for around 5K I can get a new one installed, so perhaps that would be worth it...

Anyway!

Wish you all the best success in that project! Smiley

Are you selling the ETHs you earned right away or HODLing them to get a better rate during the ETH 2.0 mainnet hype? I for one am not selling the ETHs I am getting using mining.

Ah! Would be awesome to buy you a drink and chat for sure. Smiley

Unfortunately, it's unlikely to happen as I live completely on the opposite side; northern Quebec. I travel a lot to Ontario for work, but I never went to BC. Seems beautiful though. Whistler is a place I'd love to visit some day.

Impressive lack of understanding of why people mine, equipment rest value, privacy, and ecosystem support.
