I went from being a kid to something because i still don’t understand and also things i learned from previous competitions.

First of all, if a member brings this art from a third party with some money and participates in this competition again, then why it will be accepted. If this is the rule then the admin you can get the design from all these sites fiver, upwork etc then this competition will not be needed.

Second from the previous contest i saw that many members used software to do this design but why would it be considered acceptable, Because drawing with your own hands and creating using software will be the same? Never same. If there use software for this competition then how can i do better than them with hand design?.

However, for me this is not possible as more people will use software for this competition and some people will design with money from other people like third party.

I doubt anyone that finished top 5 in the last competition (3 of 5 winners did something handmade btw) used fiverr or otherwsie and submitted that as their artwork..

I can't really deny anyone using photoshop or other software, it is art too and unless I make one competition specifically for hand crafted things I will accept everything. Besides, where does it end if we draw it there? One competition if you paint on canvas and one if you draw with pencils? You can take it one step further no matter how you look at it and at that point we would offer $100 to one person in each category rather than one combined art comp. like this one.

There is no requirement to join though, this is just something for the community and whoever wants to, can join .

I actually agree with your point but the fact that these people who are going to commissioned the artwork just for the sake of entering the competition will cost them a lot of money without the certainty of getting into top5. You are taking a lot of risk if you considered doing it.

You can actually scale the quality of your artwork even if it is drawn using graphite/ charcoal medium if you can easily understand how tonal values works and how you can illustrate the mood of your concept. The quality of the output actually depends on the level of your skills not on the medium you have used to create your entry.

I appreciate all of the complaints here are stated from (hopefully) real accounts, not in newbie alts so I believe these comments are objective and not offending anyone. First of all, I think it's okay if the winners in last contest are allowed to join again, so the other participants would put more effort this time, especially after the prize has been doubled by Roobet team. You can take the winners designs as the reference for your next art(s).

Regarding the software, your drawing might look better if you use that, but that's useless if you have no talent on it. You can learn from Youtube about how to use any software, but it doesn't mean your drawing skill will get improved immediately. I think two of winners from the last contest, Karmakid and 5Ksana_HandMade didn't use specific software for their outstanding art works, yet they managed to secure 2nd and 3rd positions. It's all about creativity.

Imo getting design from third party website for a contest is a dishonest act even though it's been paid, and if you catch someone doing this, you could report it by providing solid proof(s) and it will affect the score of the reported designs by the judges. This contest is for a fun purpose, not a business.

Exactly, this is a contest (battle), where we need to won against the last winners or else they will remain undefeated (I’m part of the first batch winners ) and can considered as all time champion. Come on, this is just like a sports where defending champion have to defend the title all over again.

Though, anyone can ask their friends or anyone to create something for them it can be a free of service or not really depends on how greedy you are. Don’t know how to check this one.

Man you have no idea how hard to make a digital artwork using software like photoshop haha, Digital and Traditional artwork are valued the same, cause the expertise of using those two medium of art takes a lot of time to master. I am both traditional and Digital artist, and yes! I get more money using traditional cause it's my expertise but that doesn't mean that digital is less valuable than traditional artwork. Just go to deviant art and you will see some artist and clients there are willing to pay a thousand of bucks for a digital artwork.

With regards to people who are going to pay artist to join here, trust me that is not going to work LOL, Coz you are going to pay more than a thousand bucks to generate an artwork that may win this competition or maybe not  


Last competition I lost also, and that's a shame cause I win the 10th anniv. competition but I can't win a competition like that. That's because of my 1 day preparation and 1 day artwork. But this competition, I will give my all and will make sure that I will get the 1st prize!   So cheer up mate! don't underestimate any kind of medium, it's not the medium of art but the artist expertise to make a wonderful art and express it

I think there is a misconception when it comes to digital artworks because it seems that there some people who thinks creating arts using software is easy and basic but all of it is a lie and untrue.

Digital and Traditional artwork are valued the same, cause the expertise of using those two medium of art takes a lot of time to master.

It really takes time, effort, hardwork, blood and sweat in order to enhanced and fully developed skills when it comes to creating arts using digital software. Making artworks in digital is the same with traditional. The only difference is, we make one with the help of a computer but the process is still the same. We have different software to use, yes, but that doesn't mean that the outcome will always be better than the traditional. It still depends on the skills u have. I use adobe photoshop with a mouse instead of a pentab. I had a hard time coloring the whole piece, coloring with a mouse is very difficult to control than the usual pentab. Honestly, traditional is still better than digital. Easier to control, easier to manage and easier to make.

I won the first place in the last competition because of the digital artwork that I did. It took me days for me to finished, I actually got migraine because of the hardwork and effort that I put in it but it is okay because I'm having fun about it. I will participate again in this contest and I will surpass my limits in order to achieve 1st place again! Goodluck to all of the participants! Don't forget to have fun when doing your own artwork.

I received a reply from another member that a video and GIF are more or like similar and will be accepted as eligible. So I just want an official confirmation,  that you accept videos as valid entry.

Haven't said that they must not be part of it. I said "would there be rules" lol. Because I saw there's a lot of great artworks yet it depends on the preference of the roobet team. No hate on winners tbh. It's just natural to have an idea that contests do also consider giving opportunity to others.

A video would be fine but if it's more than 30s (unless you made a video to showcase the art you made) I'm not sure about it. You can submit whatever you perceive as art though and we will judge it accordingly
