Everybody remembers that forecast that he made. But we're all grown up after 3 years and understood that he has said it for attention. Probably he has sold his stash already and doesn't want to interfere anymore unlike before.

The challenge of "IF" won't be happening, he has admitted it.

But let's all move forward and go to a more realistic scenario for bitcoin which is being talked lately for the price of $100k.

When I read this tweet, I'm still at the time when I'm learning Bitcoin and crypto in general so I didn't give any attention to the forecast he made but what made me laugh is that he will eat his dick when it will not happen.

Well he made the tweet, admitted that he is wrong and he will not do what he promised because that is pure stupidity if he will do it and take note in National Television. He is just predicting too like one of us and its just that he got over-exaggerated with his prediction. Lets just focus into when this will happen or at least when will be the ATH be reached again since that is more realistic right now.

My own tired, cynical opinion would probably be exactly like the above except that I betcha bitcoin will hit $500k within the next 30 years.  McAfee is nutty for making a prediction and bet like this, but he's just got the time frame wrong.  And honestly, I wouldn't want to see bitcoin hit a ridiculous price like $500k in just several years.  Any rational investor would realize that those kinds of gains aren't sustainable.

But we're all grown up after 3 years and understood that he has said it for attention.

Yeah, just like all the other prominent bitcoiners with large platforms who make extreme predictions--they might believe what they're saying, but it's far more likely they're making a prediction in order to keep their name relevant.  I tend to just tune out crap like this.

But let's all move forward and go to a more realistic scenario for bitcoin which is being talked lately for the price of $100k.

Hate to say it, but I think that price is even too high to hit unless we're talking about a ten-year time frame.  Remember, the state of the economy is far from certain and it isn't looking too healthy.  In order to get bitcoin up to $100k, there would have to be a ton of buying.  If people are still out of work, that just isn't going to happen.  But we shall see.

Though it was already obvious from the get-go, John McAfee already admitted that he did it for publicity reasons. He even called Bitcoin "ancient technology" and "worthless" lul.

No matter how much of a huge nutjob he is though, gotta admit— I think his publicity stunt worked. Though he got a lot of people talking about Bitcoin(most likely in a negative manner), any publicity is good publicity.

I see. That's probably why he is calling Bitcoin worthless now to promote his new coin. I bet he's going to add more negative statement about Bitcoin while trying to glorify this "decentralized" project of his.

I hate to say it but IIRC, I sort a believed that prediction and pushed my emotion that we'll be there. Anyways, I have to move on and just look into the reality today, I don't want to look at it anymore.

The predictions ended up with that price because of the s2f model but I'm not an expert although love to read things if it's about predictions with analysis. Yeah, hard to believe but we'll see if it comes and hoping it will although not by this year or next few years but hopefully it will.

You don't take this man seriously. The man is a joke and he seems to be enjoying and living it quite well. It's either the man is YOLOing or just haven't received enough attention yet until now. Yes, I don't think we need so many threads for this McAfee drama. We already know about his stunts. This is what McAfee wants, attention from the public and continuous discussion about his life. This is the reason why there are still some crap projects that hire his endorsement because of the popularity of him in crypto, though not in a good way actually.

the deadline has already passed and he hasn't still eaten his "deal" on national television in was in July and he is now hiding under a rock playing with his "deal" while rolling around in all the money he scammed newbies in 2017 when he made that statement just to gain publicity and rip newbies off.

By now we already know what John McAfee is up to, I mean that is 2017, wherein the market is just on a bull run and there's a lot of irrational buyers specially on bitcoin market and then he made his prediction. And people think back then that he was the real deal. LOL. Damn, many noobs really fall for it, and then he became a so called crypto influencer, and then he said that his twitter account was hack etc. etc. But nevertheless, no one is really believing him today, probably making some decent money, but unlike 3 years ago wherein he can command 6 digits just for mentioning some shitcoins on his twitter.
