We can move our topics in bitcointalk forum to other sections, and moderators can do the same thing for us.
Is there some way to detect when topic is moved?
Maybe some bot or script exist that I am not aware of, but it would be interesting to have this option with notification.

Mods have the option to leave a redirection message if they decide to (sample) whenever they move topics. If they don't, I don't think there's another way except to maybe remember where topics were originally posted or just keep checking your post history in case it's your own topic.

TryNinja's bot can detect deleted topics (parent thread) but I don't know if he's working on detecting moved topics.

Edit: I think you are talking about your own that was moved from Meta to B & H. Mod didn't leave a redirection topic and if I hadn't read that as a guest earlier, I wouldn't have known it was moved.

If the topic is in your watchlist, you should get an e-mail notification when it gets moved:

Quote
A topic you are watching has been moved to another board by (anonymous).

View the topic at: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5265723.new;topicseen#new

Unsubscribe to this topic by clicking here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=notify;topic=5265723.0

Regards,
The Bitcoin Forum Team.

I don't know what "anonymous" means. Perhaps that's when moderator moves it, not sure.

The bot only notifies about nuked threads. Nothing about it getting moved by OP or a mod. Basically, only if it shows up on the modlog.

Edit: I’m working on a remake of the bot which would possibly allow things like this. But I really don’t have lots of time right now.

I am not expert yet on this forum, but I think no way to do this, but we can make a suggestion on this forum about it. It will be easy for moderators to notify us through personal messages if our topic is moved and the board it is moved to.

Thank you all for answering and explaining.

That would be great new feature for your Telegram bot!
I am using it for some time and I am very happy so far. Wink

You must lock this thread. The answer is already given a long time ago, it is the watch button. It is the notification feature of the forum yet directly sends via email. Though not that convenient as the Telegram Bot of TryNinja, it was still the legendary notify feature of the forum in which the answer to your inquiry. If you really wanted a script, maybe soon some would do such thing. But AFAIK, it needs to access your account to know whether your post was moved by mods or moved by yourself.

The right answer:
If the topic is in your watchlist, you should get an e-mail notification when it gets moved:

In theory it should be possible to have a bot that has every board in its watchlist, gets e-mail notifications for any thread that gets moved, and sends out PM/telegram/etc notifications to affected users. But it seems kinda redundant.
