One downside but it is the most crucial one for most bitcoin/crypto players because I believe more than 90% of crypto gamblers still prefer to play anonymously without KYC.
I can be wrong about the percentage, just my own prediction based on what I can see in this gambling board where most members do not like KYC.

I will say that we have talked with our legal team about KYC and because our goal is to really grow and eventually acquire a high level gaming license as well as leave the door open for eventually opening up to safer fiat options in the future they were very hesitant to change our policies completely. What we have done is asked them to really dig in and find out what the absolute minimum possible requirements can be with respect to the KYC issue.

One other issue is that we obviously will need to adjust our promotions slightly if we do reduce those rules... because giving out $99 Free to players who can just make 100 new accounts would never work.

This is all to say we take feedback seriously and will continue exploring our best options while ensuring player's money stays safe and we protect the poker room from abuse!

If anyone has ideas for promotions they have seen that work well and protect the poker room from abuse that they think would convert better than our current promotions we would love to hear about them! Maybe there are options that we simply have not considered that could be better for players and for us.

Personally, I don't like KYC procedures on any crypto platform, and in continuation of this, I have talked with the team to remove KYC. As they describe in the above post, there are some obstacles to remove KYC on a regulated casino. Also, they don't wanna stop current promotions in order to attract new gamblers. As they said to me, if possible in the future, they will consider about KYC how the procedure could make more easier although can't remove fully. On the other hand, the abuser is always looking for an opportunity for how they can cheat, it would be another reason why the team does not want to remove KYC. But yes, I am not a fan of KYC.
