In the real world, we used fiat or physical money in our daily spending. And this physical notes can be use in fraudulence or a so-called Fake Money.
How about in Cryptoworld, is there also a Fake Bitcoin? If there's any, how can we identify it?

Here's a list of some of them: https://coinsutra.com/bitcoin-forked-coins-list-dates-claim/

Additionally, there are scammers out there that are trying to sell their testnet bitcoin as main-chain bitcoin. While not necessarily "fake" bitcoin, watch out for that as well.

The fork coins are the fake bitcoins. They claim that the "real" bitcoin is them.

But in reality, they are the copy cats that have copied bitcoin and taken bitcoin's name on their boat so that people will recognize them.

Most altcoins are either Bitcoin clones under other names or forks from other alts that have copied BTC as well. But if you're asking whether there's a fake Bitcoin out there as in if you can receive a Bitcoin on the mainnet that doesn't exist, no - your answer is somewhere in the first pages of Satoshi's Whitepaper. That could only happen if you get fooled by someone trying to double spend using RBF (Replace-By-Fee) - yet that still doesn't count as "fake". Remember: use mainnet and only consider your received/sent txs complete once you get at least 1 confirmation.

There might be no equivalent scenario as the fake fiat money you mentioned, since there is no way another coin can pop up in the mainchain, but somebody can trick you in various ways. Which is why having a general idea of how bitcoin address looks like is important. If you scroll through this forum, there are many cases where people thought they buy bitcoin but did not receive them.

There are many fake bitcoins or say duplicates from the fork and I think these fake coins can still be traded on major exchanges so they are still valuable in cryptoworld in these fakes, but the fake ones in any bitcoin, the type of coin can still be used even though it is on a low exchange.
And I don't think there are many who suggest investing in the fork of bitcoin because many claim that they are genuine and these accusations have not been proven.

It's rather easy to identify them based on the current ones out there tbh, if the coin is named as Bitcoin + something else, then most likely the said coin would either be a fork or a completely new but fake coin that was based on Bitcoin. A simple introduction for a fork is when the path of Bitcoin branched out into two, creating another entity that was made because of reasons, you could easily look them up and a few posts above already listen some links about it. As for fake Bitcoin, it's more likely to be just word play on that side, confusing the investor so that the scammer can sucker in the funds from them. Just do your research when trying to invest, and when buying Bitcoin, go to those official exchanges for guaranteed transactions.

How about in Cryptoworld, is there also a Fake Bitcoin? If there's any, how do we know?

If the coins are on Bitcoin main blockchain, they are Bitcoin. Anything else is not.
And from here the list of "fake" coins can get big:
  • Bitcoin forks, misleading because they contain "Bitcoin" in their name and some even advertised as the true bitcoin. The list is big, most known are BCH and BSV.
  • Bitcoin testnet coins. Bitcoin testnet is for testing, so those coins don't hold value. Testnet blockchain is also reset from time to time and the very old coins cannot be used.
  • "Home brew". Anybody can make his own blockchain, the source code is public, and can have his own Bitcoin at home. Of course the chance to stumble over such Bitcoin is slim (there were some time ago discussions about a hypothetical scam based on such coins).
  • Tokens. Various altcoin blockchains offer the possibility to create tokens. Ethereum and Waves are 2 such networks, but the list is big. The tokens don't have their own blockchain and the tx fees are (usually?) in the "parent" coin. Tokens can have basically almost any name, so tokens called Bitcoin or with Bitcoin in their name can exist. Those are, again, not Bitcoin.

Another one is Bitcoin Satoshi Vision.

I am not a BCash or Bitcoin Fork fan, but I kinda disagree with this assumption that these are fake bitcoins. Remember, when someone counterfeits Fiat currencies, they make an exact (or close) copy of the original Fiat currencies. (notes or coins)

These forked coins are not an exact copy of the original Bitcoin (BTC) ....they tweaked several aspects of it and they used a different token to differentiate it from the original.

The strategy with these tokens are to use the word "Bitcoin" in their token to confuse people, in the hope that they would buy the wrong coin. (Just a cheap marketing strategy, like telling people that you have a Sale of up to 80% off on all items and you only have 2 items at a 80% reduction on the price.)  Roll Eyes

There would be fake bitcoin, but its verifiable to the main chain. Also, there is some coins owner claim their coin is real bitcoin which are totally fake. Testnet coin also is a fake coin as well, sometimes scammers attempt to scam innocent people by testnet coins. Every coin has its main net, so you should verify them before buying/sell. For ERC20, it would be verified via the contract address. Check the original contract address from the official website. There are so many scams happen via fake ERC20 token. Remember, frauds are everywhere, either in online or real life.

Is there a Fake Bitcoin?

Yes. Every alternative forked Bitcoin chain that isn't BTC and is using or claiming ownership of the Bitcoin name i.e.

BitcoinSV and Bitcoin CASH etc.,

They even state in the license that they are a forked copy of a forked copy of the original Bitcoin BTC ...

Quote
... The Bitcoin SV blockchains are defined,
for purposes of this license, as the Bitcoin blockchain containing block height #556767
with the hash "000000000000000001d956714215d96ffc00e0afda4cd0a96c96f8d802b1662b" and
the test blockchains that are supported by the un-modified Software.

One would imagine the real satoshi to have provable ownership to his own yard, right!  Cheesy

Craig Wright is NOT satoshi and BSV is NOT Bitcoin.

...

If you are asking if any Bitcoin (BTC) exists on-chain created as counterfeit money - see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Counterfeit_money - then the answer is currently no. We know this by the circulating supply.

However, "On August 15 2010, it was discovered that block 74638 contained a transaction that created 184,467,440,737.09551616 bitcoins for three different addresses ..."

Value overflow incident
- https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Value_overflow_incident

The 'bug' and value overflow incident was quickly corrected by satoshi (and others).

The forks and frauds listed are all totally separate systems that cannot interact with Bitcoin.

I assume OP is asking whether anyone can create a 'fake' Bitcoin to fool someone on the main chain. The answer is no. It would be rejected every step of the way. Verification is at the core of everything.

If it was possible this forum wouldn't be here as the entire thing would be useless and therefore worthless.

In the real world, we used fiat or physical money in our daily spending. And this physical notes can be use in fraudulence or a so-called Fake Money.
How about in Cryptoworld, is there also a Fake Bitcoin? If there's any, how do we know?

I am also wondering about if there is a fake bitcoin. 🤔 Coz I never heard any news about it. Well there is, I hope that these coins are easy to spot if it is fake or not for the scammers not to be able to use these coins frequently because those who will be involved in their scams are so damn pitiful.

I guess you mean counterfeiting of fiat currencies, or no?
Well, I think counterfeiting well decentralized/consensus driven and transparent currency will be very hard thing to do.
I have always wondered if currencies can be numbered in series according to their totals supply, and information stored decentrally to make the currencies hard to counterfeit and easy to check/verify the total supply or the numbers. But this will be abit challanging on centralized inflationary currencies without fixed supply like fiat... Or maybe they do this already on fiat currencies? Unfortunately there is no easy to verify that (assuming they do it) considering the secretive/opaque/centralized nature of centralized fiats.

Yes.

It's called Bitcoin Cash.

Smiley

Another one is Bitcoin Satoshi Vision.
I'm thinking about it.How come that coin with the first name bitcoin is already a fake bitcoin? It means in crypto space it's easy to identify the real and fake bitcoin.Because in fiat money Fake money is almost the same with the original one that's why sometimes it's difficult to identify it fast. I think those fork coin are not really fake bitcoin because they have separate systems which does not interact with Bitcoin instead the creator of that put that name just to make sure that their coin will also known and can attract people because they have a bitcoin name at first. It's just like a marketing strategy.Well, whatever it is, for me there is only one Bitcoin (BTC) in crypto world.

We can identify them as a fake bitcoin because they think they it is the real bitcoin. They are saying that the bitcoin that we are using and holding right now is not the plan or the visual of the creator of it, Satoshi Nakamoto. The reason there are a lot of these altcoins saying they are the real bitcoin, but they aren't. They are not separated, they are forked from bitcoin.

Guys no offense but aren't you reading? There are already few replies regarding this issue. Let me repeat, there is no fake actual bitcoin; you know, like a fake dollar which got the same looks, same texture and everything. However, we have bitcoin forks which we can consider fake since they are clones. They are actually different coins but somehow steals bitcoin's branding Cheesy.

Another one is Bitcoin Satoshi Vision.

There are a lot of forks out there using Bitcoin's name to make them appealing to the public (I guess).
But like Poker Player said above, Bitcoin Cash is the trickiest of all of them since their website is bitcoin.com and all over the place their coin is called Bitcoin, instead of Bitcoin Cash.

and perhaps the main purpose of Bitcoin Cash is to trick investors into being tricked by it, by admitting that Bitcoin Cash is true Bitcoin and not Bitcoin made by satoshis. The point is if there is a new bitcoin with the first name "bitcoin", it is certain that it is not bitcoin, but altcoin. like China, which is good at imitating the famous products of other countries but with different names and of course with different qualities.

I wouldn't say that altcoins are fake Bitcoin because they use the same source code. They are varieties of crypto they just use the same technology and source. They would be fake when some coins would claim to be Bitcoin and use the same name and they are not, which is possible only in theory because in real life this would be revealed instantly.

From my personal view to there is fake bitcoin. This is used by the scammers, in specific people have a simple understanding about bitcoin as a virtual asset that doesn't have any physical state as the traditional currency. This is been used by the scammers as an advantage and used to send just numbers and make money out of it. This is what I state a fake bitcoin.

banknotes can be counterfeited in the exact same way as the original by reprinting but not using the same material as the original, bictoin forged with a hard fork and different from the original, maybe that is the difference between counterfeit banknotes and fake bitcoin.
and bitcoincash, one of which is fake bitcoin.

All coins that use the name Bitcoin, like all Bitcoin forked, can be said to be fake Bitcoin. Unlike fake money, which does not apply
when used and also violates legality. Meanwhile, fake Bitcoin is still valid and can be used as an investment. So from that fake Bitcoin
alone can provide profit, especially real Bitcoin is definitely more valuable.

There are many kind of fake Bitcoin some coin use the name of Bitcoin and some of them comparing bitcoin to their coin. Actually in our country many people are not knowledgeable about bitcoin so when the scammer compare their coin to bitcoin they will believe and invest their money.

Nope.

Altcoins are not fake bitcoins, some are genuine and unique projects, especially if they have their own chain from block 1 (0).

A code fork is not necessarily a chain fork off of Bitcoin.

See: "Topic: The paradox of Bitcoin Cash"

and I quote satoshi ...

A second version would be a massive development and maintenance hassle for me.  It's hard enough maintaining backward compatibility while upgrading the network without a second version locking things in.  If the second version screwed up, the user experience would reflect badly on both, although it would at least reinforce to users the importance of staying with the official version.  If someone was getting ready to fork a second version, I would have to air a lot of disclaimers about the risks of using a minority version.  This is a design where the majority version wins if there's any disagreement, and that can be pretty ugly for the minority version and I'd rather not go into it, and I don't have to as long as there's only one version.

I know, most developers don't like their software forked, but I have real technical reasons in this case.

...snip...

The majority version remains BTC  ...

and no I'm NOT satoshi, I've simply been here for too long. I don't know why I still bother really.

Anything outside of the current bitcoin ( btc ), hence forks, aren't real bitcoin imo.  Anything operated by both Craig Wright ( Bitcoin SV ) or Roger Ver ( Bitcoin Cash / Bcash ) , I'd especially consider a "fake bitcoin".

Many fake bitcoins are created, claiming to be better than real bitcoins.
this is a common thing that many developers create other coins that will rival real Bitcoin. Fake Bitcoins certainly create a fork that seems to want to say they are the real Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is still Bitcoin and cannot be counterfeited. If there are other coins that have the first name Bitcoin, it can be ascertained that they are only forked coins such as Bitcoin Cash, BSV, BTG and others.

Yes.

It's called Bitcoin Cash.

Smiley

Another one is Bitcoin Satoshi Vision.
Nice answer I was about to say the same thing all of the fork of Bitcoin are fake and they claim to be better and to be the real BTC while they are just an imitation of the true BTC.
This is really funny how they keep on insisting that they are the real BTC and what's even funnier is that there are people who strongly believe and supports them.

In the real world, we used fiat or physical money in our daily spending. And this physical notes can be use in fraudulence or a so-called Fake Money.
How about in Cryptoworld, is there also a Fake Bitcoin? If there's any, how can we identify it?

There are many fake Bitcoins out there. Infact they are more than you could ever imagine.
Another fake bitcoin is coming soon. And that's Bitcoin Black. I know charcoals is important but charcoal is never a currency so I'm still wondering what bitcoin black is.

That is actually a good topic that many users like me can think about since I have never considered the fact that having a face Bitcoin but I thought about would be called as Alternate Cryptocurrencies but I guess it does not work that way.

Seeing Bitcoin Cash in the comments made me realize to research more about it since people are saying it was a good fork. I always thought forks are for when the volume is going overboard and they wanted to lessen the volume of where they are going to do a fork.

There is only "bitcoin". Any coins that say that they are the real bitcoin are the fake bitcoin. Most of the coins that got forked claims that they are real bitcoin. Don't listen to them. If they are the real bitcoin, why they called "bitcoin + something" instead of being "bitcoin"? Lol.
If you are taking about creating fake bitcoin within the bitcoin network, no it is not possible. You can't counterfeit bitcoin (on the same chain) like you can do with fiat currency.

As others have already said here only Bitcoin is Bitcoin and yes there are already many 'fakes' such as BCH, BSV and others that are wannabe kings of crypto and are using "Bitcoin" as part of their name despite the fact that they are ALTCOINS that have nothing to do with BTC proper.
Quote
since people are saying it (Bitcoin Cash) was a good fork
Bull. Just as with most altcoins, those coins are made for only 2 reasons: self-serving greed & hubris. Greed in that before being released to the public the creators massively pre-mine the coins to get a nice stockpile and then hubris kicks in as they try to convince others that their coin is somehow better than BTC so their stockpile of pre-mined crap coins are actually worth something.

Using the word 'fake' implies 'counterfeit' and the possibility to (fraudulently) spend it exactly like the real thing. Not the case here. The other coins *are* valid coins in their own right and do have value but they are NOT interchangeable with BTC

All non-BTC coins have their own blockchain, address formats, wallets and most importantly - value. You cannot spend BCH et al to buy something looking for a BTC address for payment. Sometimes a site will blissfully accept you sending the wrong coin to a BTC address but it will NOT register as a valid payment. Even more fun is that the crap coins you sent possibly may never be recovered, partly depends on how nice the site operators are and exactly what crap coin you tried to use.

You don't need to make an exact copy to have a fake something. The important part is trying to sell the product as the original.

Some altcoins are doing more of it and some are doing less. Like BTG isn't really trying to scam people by telling everyone it's the one and only.

Both BCH and BSV are. BCH by confusing people that there's bitcoin cash and bitcoin core and bitcoin cash is better Wink and BSV by trying to sell this whole "I am Satoshi and this is my Bitcoin" lie.

I agree that fake Bitcoin is Bitcoin Satoshi Vision (BSV) because it claims to be real Bitcoin. And this is detrimental to several parties,
especially newbies who don't understand the world of cryptocurrency. So it can mislead some new investors, especially BSV claiming
to be the real Satoshi Nakamoto vision. With Craig Wright as creator BSV claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto making increasingly misleading
information. It's no wonder many crypto communities call BSV a scam coin.

Bitcoin Cash and BSV are the ones which is considered the "Fake Bitcoin" in the crypto space.

These 2 are considered Fake Bitcoins because they are claiming that these 2 shitcoins are the real Bitcoin and not the Bitcoin itself but even though it is fake lets face it, it will take a long time before these coins to be out of the crypto or maybe they will be here forever. Maybe hate it probably like XRP back in the days but they don't fucking care. They will just spread the fake news which is disgusting especially for Ver who is spreading shitty news in the internet.

I hate these 2 coins especially BCH but I've been used them around 2-3 times already when I'm still gambling because of the very low fees instead of Bitcoin but aside from that, I don't use them anymore.

Lol there are many of them, you should have seen a list that someone made on Bitcoin forks, it was very funny, there were lots of cryptocurrencies with weird names that I’m seeing for the first time, even one that goes by the name - ‘Bitcoin pizza  Grin’ lol. They are all scammers and if you check out for these cryptocurrencies you will notice that 90% of them are no longer in the market, because they stopped functioning a long time ago.

When Bitcoin Gold (BTG) was forked, there were news then that it’s going to stop functioning and lots of wallets I was using then kept sending me notifications to sell my BTG and convert to the real bitcoin. I am surprised that the last time I checked it was still on coinmarketcap, though I have not checked since then.

So, there are many of them that are going by the name Bitcoin, but they are just counterfeits lol, the real one is simply that Bitcoin and nothing else. Although it’s still up to you, some of these counterfeits are here to stay for a long time, if you can identify them, stay clear from them and go for the legit ones. You can use that Bitcoin Cash as an example, despite that it is a fake Bitcoin, it is still one of the top altcoins if you check the coinmarketcap.

did bch claim to be that it is a bitcoin ? never knew that but i still trust bch compare to bsv or bcd .  they cant claim to be the real bitcoin because there are already an original bitcoin and its name is only bitcoin , no extensions whatsoever .

i wont call alts with a btc next to thier names fake because we can still spend them and they have thier real value on the digital but fake money on the real world are literally fake and does not have any value if found out .

Just the way you can recognize fake money based on texture, color, absence of hidden information when place on mercury light so also you can know bitcoin by the symbol, the type of address (that is the key format). However, why it might be difficult to discover a fake fiat is generally easy to know maybe a coin is BTC or not just by simply search for the address on the bitcoin blockchain. This is the same applies to other cryptocurrencies. Each of them have particular features that make it easy to know them.

In the real world, we used fiat or physical money in our daily spending. And this physical notes can be use in fraudulence or a so-called Fake Money.
How about in Cryptoworld, is there also a Fake Bitcoin?  If there's any, how can we identify it?

Your question is interestingly SyFy, complicated in its argument, but simple in answer. But, be careful if it is a quick short answer, it can fall into a syfy answer.  (Don't ask me what syfy is, the answer is in your question)

I don't know why some people just always put the FIAT in comparison with bitcoin in trivial scam situations, and you end up mixing everything in such a rarely complex way, that it makes sense.

For those who do not follow my idea, it is like counting pears and apples:
That if they can be counted, nothing prevents it, a theoretical physicist would approve it; he would say "...they are fruits,"  a mathematician would say that when defining the variables X = apples Y = pears, this cannot be counted.

That said, the short answer occurs: bitcoin is not fake.

Answer to question 2:

Now unlike the real world you mention, there you can see faces, companies technology, trickery, etc, and in some cases tangible Fiat currency is fake. Everything there can be fake, even the coin.

In the bitcoin world it can be the same only that the currency is never false. But of course to begin to understand why it is not, you should first know why you cannot count pears and apples, it is easy.

Short answer: they can fool you with related businesses, but never put a fake bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the only Bitcoin we've known for a long time, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, and Bitcoin Satoshi Vision are another coin that made to trick people but unfortunately, they won't succeed as people already know about.

But there are ways that much worse than these claims in regards to fake Bitcoin, it is about to fake Bitcoin addresses and fakes sites that will catch in you if you have missed it. Better to focus this one rather than to those name above, but of course, it could still be our loss if we invest with them.

A lot of tricks happen in crypto, not only for the name but for the people who used this just to scam innocent people. If we are too much careless for this, possibly we are one of their victims.

In the real world, we used fiat or physical money in our daily spending. And this physical notes can be use in fraudulence or a so-called Fake Money.
How about in Cryptoworld, is there also a Fake Bitcoin? If there's any, how can we identify it?

Everything that is called anything other than Bitcoin is probably a fake bitcoin.

Doublespending can be considered a fraud and it's practically the same as counterfeiting - the fraudster is paying with a currency that is worth nothing. Yes, you could argue that the coins are real until they are reversed, but the aftermath is still the same in both cases.

And on practice some newbies or careless people can get scammed this way if they receive 0-conf transactions and treat them as final.

as many say by the community here that many fake bitcoins are forked from bitcoin, but from all of them none of them are as good as bitcoin, but just a little advice just avoid it trading BSV or bitcoin cash, lol

I think there is because many told me that the bitcoin is scam base their own experience. That's why many people think twice, afraid or they not want to join bitcoin cuz they afraid to get scam. That's why I told my friends if they want to join bitcoin they gonna make sure first it's not fake

So Ethereum and XRP are considered fake Bitcoin, then?

straighten it so that there is no polemic, maybe what is meant is that besides bitcoin there is no other bitcoin. whereas what you say about ethereum and xrp is definitely not bitcoin, ethereum and xrp are altcoins.

Fake bitcoins are those assets that use the name bitcoin which is obviously a copy cat of BTC and claiming to be the real one.
Everything that is called anything other than Bitcoin is probably a fake bitcoin.

So Ethereum and XRP are considered fake Bitcoin, then?
No they aren't considered as a fake bitcoin, they have their own unique features and use the foundation of chain network to their assets.

They are called alternative cryptocurrency or altcoins so obviously, they aren't considered as fake bitcoins. Innovations are not considered as copy cats or fake things because you made something different than the original doesn't have.

No, they are both different in terms of use/features, etc.

What most likely he points out is the fork coins. They are claiming to be the real bitcoin which is really unbelievable, and some fork coins are also stating to beat bitcoin and be the next top crypto in the market.

If you want to own bitcoin, go to reputable exchanges and buy bitcoin and bring it to coinbase wallet, blockchain ...
Do not care about cryptocurrencies with Bitcoin names similar to names like Bitcoincash, BitcoinSV, Bitcoin Diamond ...
They really don't add value to your investment. The other bitcoin are one of the chains that split from the fork during the bitcoin upgrade. There are not many programmers and financial institutions that support trading them so their ability to increase value or store value is not better than bitcoin. Bitcoin is unique.

I also have the same question in mind.
I am into mobile gaming app and they used to pay me Bitcoincash once I reached the minimum points that they require. And now, after reading on this thread I've learned that bitcoin cash has no value and can be considered as fake. Good thing, I already quitted from there and deleted the app, and its a fake after all. Thanks to this thread.

Yes, there is a fake BTC and it's name is Bitcoin SV founded and created by Craig Wright. He claims that it is the real Bitcoin, but I don't honestly believe it and it's just full of hype. Same thing to Bitcoin Cash, but I just don't like BSV at all.

The pump of BSV last December is just pure hype and short-term before going all the way down in value. From $400+ down to $220. I'll never support Bitcoin SV.

Yes, there are so many fake bitcoins on the market. Actually they are the forks of bitcoin. But claims like they are the real one. Most famous on is the Bitcoin Cash. It also has the highest price among all of them. I would recommend you to stay away from this shit coins and never invest in them.

What is wrong with people? A bitcoin fork is not fake bitcoin it just a new coin using bitcoins network. The only thing you can do to try trick people issuing a testnet, You cannot create a nice coin called bitcoin since BTC is already taken so people will easily see. So you see this is one of the great things about bitcoin. You cannot counterfeit it. Unlike fiat.

Yes there're so many Fake Bitcoin (e.g. Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin SV) all you need is stay away and don't invest in these coins.

Read more : How Many Bitcoin Forks Are There? You will be surprised!!!
That something is a fork does not mean it is a fake. I will not consider those you mentioned as fake because they have their own programmes too and in some way have enhanced the entire cryptocurrency industry too whether we admit it or not. Also, a fake bitcoin will bear the same name as bitcoin without a prefix or suffix.

is there also a Fake Bitcoin? If there's any, how can we identify it?
The physical cash (fiat) has a counter feit, same thing goes for Bitcoin BTC there are alternate bitcoin's, how to identify them? It's easy, any coin that has been forked from bitcoin are considered to be fake bitcoin examples are:
  • bitcoin atom
  • bitcoin core
  • bitcoin satoshi version
  • bitcoin cash
And so on......

Yes, as bitcoin become popular  scammers take this as an opportunity to create app almost similar to bitcoin which they use to steal money from consumers by tricking them and setting up fake bitcoin exchanges. That's why you need to be cautious in using apps and programs

There are many fake crypto currencies on the market you should avoid them and bitcoin is included if you check the ERC-20 tokens you will see many people can easily create a new token and call it whatever they want, even bitcoin. Also, since bitcoin is open source everyone can make a fork and create a own version of bitcoin with a little knowledge.

Yes there is, and this is the bitcoin cash, and bitcoin SV because those are not the real bitcoins but still there are few people things that this is the bitcoin but still if the OP asks about the other coins which are the altcoins this could be possible fake bitcoin because this is the same way like the bitcoin but this is not the real bitcoin looks like the alternative currencies or altcoins are the same with bitcoin.

Right now there are a lot of coins created but the problem is do they survive the market? Yes, this is true there are a lot of people creating a coin right now but the problem does they really survive the market some of them last long for only a month and years but some of them getting dump immediately.

It's possible for real money. What we use for our daily expenses. But the coin we can't touch and only visible in virtual life that can't be copied or something.Only the name can be copied or the people can be fake but the fake bitcoin  will not be added to your main wallet.

ERC20 is for ethereum platform and there were many shitcoins in the past that used this platform to create their own coin before and those coin can be considered fake if they are valueless now. And even those who are made from ETH platform that with named bitcoin is really fake as they should not be in ETH platform anyway as well the bitcoin forks that have bitcoin named in them, it says there are 100+ name bitcoin fork already and only less than 50 were currently operating, the rest were no longer active and  is absolutely fake now.

If you have a bitcoin wallet no one can pay you with a fake bitcoin because the transaction has to be verified by the miners and after 10+ verification that coin will so up in your wallet, that coin is no way fake.
A miner can run a sister node and that will create a fake BTC, but if the other miners do not run or verify the node the transaction will not complete. But if all the other miners verify the node that will become the original BTC.
If the miners got divided into two or more teams and each of the team has miners to verify the transactions then the coin will be forked into parts. There are lots of forks like bitcoin cash, bitcoin SV, bitcoin core.
But still, it is possible to scam people, who have no idea about BTC wallet. Suppose one person selles a ETH wallet with a self-made ERC-20 coin named as Bitcoin  Roll Eyes

In such a thing that you can send BCH to BTC addy but wondering that it never arrives into the destination address. So it means that other names just like BCH, BSV, and Bitcoin Core aren't fake Bitcoin, and they wrong with claims as fake Bitcoin.  But if we are talking about fake projects, definitely, there is a lot of it around.

I just want to change the mind of the people thinking about Fake Bitcoin because they are totally wrong about what they think. We heard about Bitcoin scam but it doesn't mean that Bitcoin is already a scam. It happens that they are a victim of fake promises and use Bitcoin name to trick them.

from my experience there are no fake bitcoins, all i know is altcoin but the price is still far different from bitcoin price. If you have ever met fake bitcoin, then you have to be careful in making decisions if you choose the wrong choice then you will get a big loss.

Most of the fake bitcoins are those that forked from original bitcoin and attached the name of bitcoin to their name. And they considered themselves as replacement for original btc, but they are not. Just another alt trying to steal the fame from btc but  they couldn't.

After I read some comments on this topic, most of the people thought Bitcoin forked coins such as BSV, BCH, BCD, BTG and
others as fake Bitcoin. I don't blame this, because indeed some forked coins claim to be real Bitcoin. And that is very misleading
information.

Yes.

It's called Bitcoin Cash.

Smiley

Another one is Bitcoin Satoshi Vision.
you forgot to add Bitcoin Silver and all of the forked bitcoin lol.

For OP?you will never be faked if you will only purchase and use Bitcoin and  nothing else, though there are some good altcoins also yet Bitcoin is the safest of them all.

and why need for Forked when there is already existing and original?
whats the motive behind forking a great currency like bitcoin?

why need experience?to learn about fake bitcoin?Lol Claiming to be the Real Bitcoin is a clear statement that one coin like Bitcoin Cash is really fake and misleading people .
