The question is, what kind of product you would sell on specified price? Considering that each product does need capital for you to have.Calculations might be too easy to say but

If you sell products for $1 million, your income will be one million but that doesn't imply you will be a millionaire.

Millionaire refers to net worth, not to income.

Also, from your income you will have to substract taxes, pay your providers, your employees...

I guess the OP is just making a ridiculous example of how to be a millionaire. Let's chill out guys. Don't take him so seriously. We know that being a millionaire takes a lot of hard work. And before you reach that level, you surpassed a lot of trials in life. Basically, he gave an example how to earn a million but he didn't explain the activities involved how reach that level. I find it weird we reference 1 million all the time as if it's remained the same thing.

In the past, wealthy people would only have worth into the millions - now their wealth can be into the billions and the cost of inflation means that having a million now is like having 500000 ~30-40 years ago and the 80s wasn't that long ago imo (even if I wasn't there). The millionaire idea looks to be becoming a trap rather than anything productive.

Also as stated above, you have the capital to buy products and the capital or time spent on advertising...

it's just a metaphor not as easy as you want to sell something for 1 $ and expect to sell 1 million units, promotions and also the types of products offered must be useful and can be used every day, such as food.

It is very hard of course to get million but of course if you want to get it then work hard, give time and effort, decispline and maybe we need to love the work and the passion that we have, work for it. It would be more sensible to say them like this:

Sell 1 million items at a net profit of $1 each.
Sell 100 thousand items at a net profit of $10 each and so on, than what OP stated.  Because even if you sell a billion item at $1 if the item costs you more than $1 each to create, then you will be at a deficit's end.

It is hard at the beginning but once you are used to it, it will be as easy as eating peanuts .  There are several ways to achieve this kind of result and one of the better methods are through affiliate system, network marketing (not the ponzi scheme pyramiding) and referral system.

I believe working harder is not enough, hard work must be accompanied by wit.  Smart thinking plus hardworking often produces the maximum profitable result.  There are lots of hardworking employees out there and yet they don't end up being a millionaire.  Those who work hard and outwit their competitors whether it is  a business or an employment always ends on top of the chain.

i think this doesnt involved a hard work  . when you have a product worth millions , you can sell it and make million easily  but if you dont end up on a products that doesnt worth much , you need to work hard to earn extra money if your goal is to become a millionaire  or atleast to become a little wealthier  .
more work does not also always lead to more money  . on most countries they can work for a long hours over and still earn small but to other richer countries they can work less hours and be able to earn huge salary  .  also depend on the skill ,  high skill more salary  .

Unless you have the reputation to prove these products or other things to back you up, people would easily buy from you but that also means that you already built up riches from the time which built your reputation. That reputation doesn't come easy, it needs a lot of work. If that was just that simple to be a millionaire following the formula suggestion you have formulated to become a millionaire, then we must be all millionaires already because that was just easy to say and think but the problem was though it was just that simple, still it was very difficult to be executed for market pricing is not working on that simple manner. First thing that you must clear out is the product you are going to sell, what is the product? Is it worthy to be sold and bought on that amount you have set? If you will be just relying on the quantity, then being a millionaire is just easy to be formulated and no need for a secret formula for we all can do calculations about such.

But we all know that pricing a product is not that easy for we must be considering the product itself minding the capital spent added by all the additional expenses from the manufacturing, packaging, transporting and other things that are affecting the price of the product for you are aiming to gain a profit on selling and not just because you are aiming for a specific price based on the quantities you have on hand. Also, many merchants are present in the market competing with one another providing lower price to higher price on which they offer the same product with same quality that is why you must also consider the market and consumer friendly price for your product to be sold.
