HI

I have been using electrum wallet on my laptop for years. I have transfered bitcoins to my bitpay debit card via the bitpay website.
Bitpay now has a new debit card. The only way to add funds to the card, it has to be done by using the Bitpay App.
My question is: How can I transfer funds from my electrum wallet located on my laptop to my Bitpay App??? Layman terms please.

There are going to be a few ways to do this and some will be more appropriate depending on the circumstance.

I'd suggest getting a bitcoin address from the bitpay app and emailing it to yourself?. You might have to search up how to do this within the app.

Check the first 3, last 3 and a random middle three characters of the address to ensure its the same.

You also might be able to use a qr code with the app too which is a bit like a 3d barcode. You can insert the amounts you want to use on your laptops electrum wallet (in "send")

I have never used the bitpay app but If it can allow you to generate the QR code of the address you would like to send bitcoins to then it's easy. Just Open your electrum app on the laptop and go to the send tab.

You will be able to see options on the extreme right of the pay to box [box where you are supposed to fill in your address]. Click on the white camera icon and the QR code scanner using your webcam should be able to open app.

Generate a QR code of the address you want to send bitcoins to on your Bitpay app and then directly make your smartphone face your webcam until the QR code is scanned after which the address you are supposed to use will appear in the box. Please cross-check the address again before you hit the send button.

In addition to what Jackg suggested, if you decide to use the QR-code don't install random QR code readers, if the bitpay app doesn't have a qr code reader (which i doubt, then better send or save the address in Google Write and verify it that that is the same address when you are planning to use it.
It's very easy to get tricked and loose your funds. Be careful.

~snip~

How does it possible to deposit if you have a BTC wallet address like this one below?

It starts at "m" and it doesn't recognize with Electrum.

I think it will only work on QR code and you will see something like this after the scan?

The image is just for example.

It only shows the bitpay.com as an address under "pay to" after the Electrum QR scan.

Could you paste it into notes and see if it begins with a 1?

I can see it all fine on mine: starts with a 1 and looks long enough to be a bitcoin address.

Although if you created an invoice rather than clicking receive that could make it start with a different letter.

I scan it with my QR code reader and it begins with "m", here is the address below :
mhcTwpW87QqmaPrB6DyE5kceCsHzkpkbQd

If you go to the https://bitpay.com/blog/copay-and-bitpay-release/
you will see that on the example picutures the address is also starting with "m". Can that be a test-net address since you have Bitcoin Test Wallet 2 on the picutre an the test-net addresses begin with m or n??

Edit: There's a youtube video showing that the receiving address starts with 4, but after scanning the code the actual address starts with 3.

As someone else mentioned... that looks like a "TestNet" address... if you start Electrum using the "Electrum TestNet" shortcut on Windows (or using the --testnet commandline argument) it'll recognise that address just fine:

Yeah, it seems that I created a testnet wallet. I just created a new wallet today and tried to create a new invoice it generates the legacy address.
This is just the sample invoice that I created just now.

But I can't remember when I created this testnet wallet.
It might be because of not updating it for a long time but right now it shows fine?

I see the reason now

And I remember that I was hiding my BTC wallet that's why I only have testnet address.
