Good day!

Recently I visited this section just reading some threads and replies. Still the same users here doing their job extending help to all even it means a hardwork in preparing post all for free. No pays and gains being ask but purely a hardwork that was been aiming to promote the forum. The intention is really good and it encourages actually to other users might be following or doing it the same.

Past posts also in other section the B&H had been sharing info on scammers and hackers activity. Hacking is one difficult problem to solve because they too are careful being caught. Not only that hackers work is very innovative like those copying an interface of a certain program installed in your device needed for an upgrade but it is only to download and install malware programs.

So we as users should be aware and keep always eyes open against them. Is anyone here trying to organize a taskforce to battle against scammers? I do believe it can help theymos a lot by just sharing info regarding on scammer and hackers activity in a thread. I hope so someone will make a thread for it.

All comments bad or good are accepted. Thank You!

I think there's a thread somewhere on all the known common scams that can occur. Covering everything in its entirely with a task force (especially a fully open one) is going to have to handle a lot of information.

Moderators have also changed their policy on not deleting obvious scams which to me was a good decision.

Scam isn't moderated, so don't expect theymos to be involved in scam hunting by any way. Some good members are actively busting the scammer, you can check scam accusation board. You are free to do so too. Moreover, recently I have seen a project by LoyceV to detect scam or something related to that, I didn't pay close attention yet.

We have [CLUB] The SpamBusters! Busting rule-breakers constantly., and Report Malware and Suspicious Links here so Mods can take Action !. In addition, we have a force of certainly a few dozen active users who are actively fighting against all forms of scams - and I don't see how it would help to make it official as a kind of club.

Doubt if they're that smart especially those in the crypto space, they just leverage on the ignorance of noobs. Most successful scams are very obvious from the very beginning that if the victim have taken sometime to think or preferably enlighten themselves on been security conscious, they won't have been that stupid to fall prey to cheap scams.

Regarding the list, I think this can help; List of (un)known methods scammers user to scam users with honorable mention. We have users actively exposing this scammers and the trick they used daily so I think we got that taskforce part covered. It doesn't have to be official as there's always room for those with the necessary skills, time  exposure etc are welcomed to contribute to the safety of the community members.

As mentioned, there are a couple of unofficial means of fighting scams on the forum, as well as default systems to protect users (such as the newbie/guest warning in some sensitive boards).
An official list of scams would not be possible as it cannot be comprehensive. There are always new innovative ways to scam and keeping up with them is a lot of work and not 100% possible.
Such a list could also be counter productive as users would assume any offer not officially listed cannot be a scam and hence fall victim to newer methods used by scammers.

As a rule;
• Verify, do not trust, and
• Treat any offer as a scam until proven otherwise.

I think it's probably a lot harder to pull off than you think. Besides informing people through creating guides and marking/deleting the obvious scam posts, not sure anything could be done. Unfortunately, anonymity also has it's downsides— scammers can simply create as much accounts as they want to.

Just always remember to immediately report the obvious scams so they get removed immediately.

there are users who actively find these scammers in the forum, you can check the Scam Accusations and Reputation for these users. most of the threads are related to scam busting and accusations to users. they are probably not organized but these users are always busting scammers like the fake teams developing a project and some users defaulting loans.

This forum allows scammers to do whatever they want.  It makes it's money off advertising and cares little about individuals.   You won't be able to run a taskforce here without getting a lot of lies told about you, but I'm sure there are other communities that aren't as greedy and corrupt as this one.

This probably isn't a very popular decision, but at least scammers are largely advertising their scams publicly which can be sort of moderated by the community. Therefore, they tend to take a more relaxed way of going about it. If the forum disallowed it completely, and removed them (which would be a can of worms in itself, but I won't go into that) it would likely operate on a more stealthy way, and the exposure, and therefore the awareness could be far less. Make that as you will, but I don't think there's a perfect solution of moderating scams. Its not a case of that we want, and encourage scams on the forums, no one wants that. Its just that its so difficult to effectively "control".

But still we need to educate users here but the proble is that even information been shared here for free but most users are not interested to learn as a result getting scam from fraud people and will only just complain or express here.

How ironic after getting scam they blame the forum for letting this scam activity happen. A few seconds of scanning sections one can find out scam threads. sacmming is very ranpant.

But, I know what to do. Reporting it can do good to the forum. Is there any distinguishing way that the thread has been reported already? I am not pretty sure because  I am still learning here in the forum and cryptocurrency butnas long as it will be reported then i guess it is good to go.

If you're asking if there's a way to know if a thread has already been reported by someone else, there isn't.
You can of course report threads you suspect to be scam and add your reasons in the comment. It would usually get deleted if confirmed by the mods and the user nuked if their activity is low enough. Cases of malwares would get the user banned.

You should also check out the trust flag and feedback system, it is useful in warning users of potential and confirmed scams.

Hmm, actually they are not so careful like what you think. I mean, for me they are so brave on pulling off scams because they knew that the escape plan was easy to execute. All they need to do is to set a false promise, wait for people to be deceived, reach the peak of the hype then exit.

Who would sue? Who's gonna be sued? And where to raise a complain anyway? These are the questions which are hard to answer thus serve a hindrance for all the victims to get justice and make fraudsters to be complacent Sad. That is what I meant of the word "brave".
Is anyone here trying to organize a taskforce to battle against scammers? I do believe it can help theymos a lot by just sharing info regarding on scammer and hackers activity in a thread. I hope so someone will make a thread for it.
Like the others said, there is no specific team fighting such crimes (we only got Spambusters hehe). But I think Reputation and Scam Accusation Section works good so that all of us can gather there and fight these scams.

I do not think it's possible for forum to play a role in moderating scams other than developing the DT system. At maximum, forum can only ban an account if someone scam. Imagine, you have been trapped and from your side, you are not a scammer but in others eyes, it seems like you are the scammer. Then you will be banned without any reason eventually. There were such a trap happened couple of days ago although later on, the guy who complain has been detected as an alt of the scammer.
I would rather depend on my ability to verify scam than depending on others. No matter who is moderating the scam.

It is all about the forum management to battle against the scammer instead it is us the users who will do it voluntarily without pay. We can help identify the scammer here especially in their modus that are still not known to others and may let others fall for it if we will not be careful. I guess it will come up to that time that a thread something like that enabling task force to report all the possible scammers for all the users to decide if it is a scammer or not.

However, knowing too the scam and reputation board has a lot of it to see and learn. I guess I will be needing to visit often also into that section so as to learn more about scam activities here and outside the forum. I am glad that I was able to join a  good forum with users helping each other. I think that a user with average knowledge about cryptocurrency is to help report thread that could be scam.

I hope to see other guys also will join here and help to comment in regards how to battle agains the scammer. They can still get so many victims even if they are doing the traditional scamming activity or the old school scamming.

Most of DT do not give one shit about busting any scammers.

What they care about is taking out their own competitors.

Take jollygood for instance he made a big song and dance about busting some.scammers who then were starting up their own new venture here. His pals lauda and mozprognoz saw some money to be made by helping them get reestablished  here.   Jollygood says nothing about that. They even suggest changing the name so that could help them get back on here. Remember mozprognoz and lauda are meant to be scam hunters too. Although lauda was happy to lie and push the biggest scam ever until he unloaded his bags then said it was a scam.

Jollygood says nothing to them trying to enable this scam back on the forum.
Same where jollygood goes around busting those pushing livecoin or yobit but DT pushing them he says nothing.

Check my feedback I point out a DT1 is caught red handed lying trying and trying to manipulate others to protect his sponsor.
He then gives red trust to my account making absurd claims about a hacking event nobody even knows happened or not.

Same for suchmoon. Meant to be a scam hunter. Who has given red tags to members for advertising scams. However when clear evidence is given for lauda lying and scamming suchmoon runs to protect lauda and block the flag.
Look at all the DT1 including vod, timelord all the usual scammer supporting dregs and scum on DT1 not one could debunk the undeniable lies and scamming from lauda. They all ran away from debating it because there is no debate.

Same for tman in his auction scam.

DT1 is a racket. They bust scammers or low level scammers to look good and meantime make sure if you are in the DT1 gang you can scam with impunity and have the best sig spots.

There are a few on DT1 that are not scammers or scammer supporters but they are not the prolific spammers here.

If you want to debunk my points bring specifics or don't waste your time.

Default trust is a racket. None of them care about people getting scammed.

The biggest scams here that have taken place are usually assisted or enabled by a DT.

If you think the admin are any more Intersted think again. Many mods include proven scammers on their trust includes.  Theymos must be pals with lauda and let's it get away with doing shady shit over and over.  The only established member I can tell is not a scammer is gmax I have always found him to be pretty straight even if a bit rude but he isn't going to bother with sorting scammers out in his position  which I get.

So you can fight scammers at a low level but don't think of troubling the scammers in DT1 or you'll soon find out how that works out.
