I have recently signed up on the trust(lol)coin exchange because someone here was saying there was a promocode for a few free satoshis, I redeemed the code and tried to withdraw, it said I had to play atleast one roulette game before i can, which is what I did, and it said I had to deposit 0.016 to prevent abuse from the promo code. This is obviously a Scam!

Be carefull Newbies! don't fall for this crap!

It's obviously scam so why you signed up? Free satoshi that needs deposit before you claim is not a new scheme. Its old trick that working in newbies, I'm glad that I didn't fall for that kind of trap. My advice is always create a new password every website you've signed up so that they can't open your other account in other websites. Don't deposit any amount in any website that giving free satoshi most of them provably scam, first you need to confirm it by posting here asking if the website is legit or ask your friend.

This scheme has been around for several years already and the newbies are very prone to this kind of scam attempt especially those greedy newbies who likes to earn a
good amount of money without doing anything.

This scheme is like, you will be given a free money that is a good amount already and you need to deposit some amount first before you can withdraw it. I hope there will be
a site where we can report there web address so they will be block immediately if someone will report their bad doings.

It very obvious only the greedy and gullible newbies will fall for this scam times without numbers there had been several warnings on fake exchanges scamming people of their had earned bitcoin a simple google search will expose those fake exchanges in fact some them faked their volume of coin traded to deceive traders, depositing 0.016 BTC  to redeem your promo code amount to losing your bitcoin, kudos to you for exposing this fake exchange ad bringing it to the notice of this forum members.

Yup! This is an obvious scam attempt.
[1] [SCAM] trustcoin.exchange - Fake exchange

They even copy the webdesign of CEX exchange LOL
LOL didn't see stupidity like this before, they copied the entire appearance of CEX  Grin and the OP wasn't able to notice it. But there are really exchanges that is giving out a small amount of free satoshis for new users but yeah they should deposit first to acquire it. What mistake have you done is you did not check the exchange's reputation, which you should have done to check the legibility of the website. Now try to care less with promocodes, if you really want to earn try to play with market waves, do trading.

And i bet the promo code not worth the 0.016 btc they demand for, what an obvious way to scam innocent users, it was good to inform members of this community, hopefully you have been able to save somebody from falling into a trap. Every day scammers bring out new method to scam people, thread carefully guys.

Well at least you have wisely recognized at first that it is an obvious scam at the first thing that it have asked you for a deposit amount just to claim your reward. Good thing that this forum serves as an awareness channel for everybody to know about the latest scams to keep everyone to get rid of such schemes. But it would be much better that upon creating a thread about scam updates, better include the name and URL of the scam exchange or other stuffs to make your awareness call be more efficient so that we won't be guessing what exchange are you talking about for it is a common and an old school scheme to bait rewards for newbies and ask for a deposit amount in exchange for them to claim the reward.

Scammers are getting wise and targeting newbies so better to raise awareness to lessen the chance of newbies falling for such traps. Also, do no fall for filthy give aways for there are no easy money here in crypto.

When there is good, there'll be something opposite to it. For each and everything newbies will be the target, earlier during my early days into crypto itself I experienced a fake exchange scam. It happened through an e-mail, I received an e-mail to confirm the login. Going through the mail it landed on a login page of an exchange. It resembles same as that of a leading exchange. If I've entered the login credentials, they could've used it to open my true account and emptied everything. From that while using any services related to cryptocurrency I do cross checking one or two times. This could help in getting out of the traps.

Man, that's just awful. Lots of people may have fallen already for that. Specially now that times are tough and people are desperate. It is really infuriating to think that even in a situation like this, all these type of people can think of if to scam others. I bet that lots of newbies may have already fallen for this. Sigh. Well, it is what it is. You just can't be too careful in this industry. No one should really let their guards down.

An old way, in the scam accusation board there are a lot case like this one. New user from the platform ask to deposit first before they get the reward. Yeah, most likely for those users who don't know it (newbie) will send they money as they want until they fall to the trap.

As a suggestion, you may need to reveal the site here in order to many people know that the site is scam. Bitcoin and crypto currency is getting popular right now, moreover with the current situation when many people just stay in home and they need money for basic need they will do anything as long as they will be profited.

stop digging for some free satoshis from a site. at once any website claiming to offer free btc is just scam tricks.
I totally agree with your opinion, if you see the current price of BTC is very high and there will be no way for anyone to share BTC for free, maybe even though there is I believe all of it is a scam.
It seems that from the past until now there have been a lot of websites that give out some satoshis for free and beginners will want to try it, so the point is before trying it's good to ask something like this to someone who understands so that nothing untoward happens.

LOL, How much withdrawal you can get with the balance you were able to make after withdrawal? Is it a good offer that can even make you decide to pay 0.016 BTC? Good thing is that many users here shared their ideas about the sam scam to which even someone has fall for it. This is the bad side of the cryptocurrency but if one is really here in the forum and able to learn scam activity then pretty sure getting scam is not that easy. This is a lesson learn to all crypto users here to be always careful in doing transaction especially in sending crypto funds.

I posted some evidence in scam accusations already. You can check their. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5268307.msg54986549#msg54986549 They will gonna put some huge funds and let you easily win for you to fall for their trap of withdrawing the funds but should deposit a certain amouny to withdraw it all. Old trick, don't ever fall for that crap.

The promo code is tempting but it is all fake. Believe me. I saw how these site is trying to scam their players.

I've been contacted by someone and he asked me to help him withdraw about 0.2 BTC from an investment site, but at the end of the conversation he finally wanted to borrow money from me around 0.02 BTC to unlock his account and he could take the money, I told you to him that it is a scam site, because there would be no site that would like to just share free bitcoins, he didn't contact me anymore, hoping he kept listening to me about the site, I also hope that no more beginners will be deceived by a site like this

There is no reason to chase hard after a few free Satoshis. If all it takes for you to sign up and play a game on an unknown site are a few Satoshis, the tendency is that you might fall again for a scam like this.

What if it says you just need to deposit 0.0005BTC instead of 0.016BTC in order to gain access to a promo code which provides you 0.001BTC? Would you have made a deposit?

Nowadays, especially in the crypto space, treat the word free as a warning.

I agree with you. That is why we should all observe extra diligence in times like this.
Wordings used in the crypto space can be really enticing and deceiving at times.
It is safer to visit sites that are known and familiar to the community to avoid such cases.

Nice catch dude! I'm glad you fastly realized that there is something wrong. If you want free sats then stay away from referrals because there is an easier way — faucets. However, I'm not saying that it will be profitable for you either but legit to be at least Cheesy. (but seriously, don't try faucets)

I've been contacted by someone and he asked me to help him withdraw about 0.2 BTC from an investment site, but at the end of the conversation he finally wanted to borrow money from me around 0.02 BTC to unlock his account and he could take the money, I told you to him that it is a scam site, because there would be no site that would like to just share free bitcoins, he didn't contact me anymore, hoping he kept listening to me about the site, I also hope that no more beginners will be deceived by a site like this
That stranger contacted you out of nowhere and borrow .02 btc without even offering a collateral. Bro, you are the one who supposed to be his victim. Haven't you noticed that?

It's not just newbies that fall for different scams and frauds. Of course giveaways are always tempting and there is where we need to be extra cautious. Everyone is looking for the best and most favourable exchange but we ako need to have im mind that security comes first. And it's good for community to share every information about specificirati exchange or other service that is not legitimate.

I even have already visible them looking to rip-off via this web website online earlier than making an investment the web sites want to be properly monitored. No one will ever deliver away unfastened bitcoin those web sites want to be eliminated and used with caution. I changed into additionally a sufferer of scams on such web sites withinside the case of rookies it's miles greater risky. They be a part of all types of web sites in greed with out checking something and if so they fall prey to faux web sites. It is higher to live far from those sorts of web sites.

this message is applicable to all because even other users might fall trap to it. We know that there were too many exchanges nowadays and it requires you to input password and in some cases like extension wallets do require private key and password to access crypto funds. phishing is very common through fake apps or downloads when it is a malware. So, when you do click something make it sure to verify it or else you will going to make regrets in the future when someone steal your crypto.

The ignorance most times is the reason why people fall victim of these scammers. There is no such thing as promo code in an exchanger. Instead of promo codes, the bonus will be attached to your personal account at certain given conditions and then you acquire the bonus upon meeting such conditions or tasks. Be more careful.

~
Another common way to scam newbies (at least for me since I've seen many ways of scammers to scam newbies and unfortunately many are falling for it).

If you are one of the few investors who aren't falling to these kind of kids way of scamming people then welcome Smiley. Unfortunately not only newbies are falling to these kind of shits but also those people who are here for long time already. Its because of temptation. Investors are very tempted to these kind of scams and they are willing to deposit some BTC to have it.

Well like I always say and will say it again, an investor will not learn if they will not experience it so let them experience getting scammed so they will learn from it Smiley
