I'm seeing the same thing, looking at the daily and weekly Bollinger Bands. The daily bands are particularly tight.

Daily ATR (average true range) is actually suggesting a breakout has already occurred after the break above $10.5K, but this is unconfirmed on the weekly. I take it with a grain of salt.

What confirms a breakout for you, on these weekly and monthly time frames? What levels are you watching?

breakout confirmation for me is at least 4% daily candle close above/below pre w open. currently trading just slightly above it. decreasing, getting really tight.

currently watching weekly 20-10 ma range. inside it since sep1.




tightening. forming this above the three previous quarters highs.

What a troll this market is! Any bias regarding the breakout, bullish or bearish?

I'm not convinced an upside break of the range you've drawn will result in a significant move. I believe we're still in a mid-term bearish correction. I see continued sideways ranging (with possible expansion into the $11Ks) or significant downside in the cards:
