Wow I still can't believe how time really flies am less than three months away from being a year on the forum, and o boy it's been an excitingly interesting time. Almost a senior member rank, and have learnt so much -i haven't been the same from when I knew this forum-

I found bitcointalk from curiosity. I have always been attentive and always wanting to learn new things and also I wanted to improve my status. So I had to get oriented on bitcoin, as a result of this orientation the forum was uses as a yardstick. And I have gained so much

One of the this am grateful for is finding this forum, because by interaction their are many other into cryptocurrency but not here either by -having an account or watching- discovers problems/technical issues or knowledge/learning not as it would have been if they were to be in this.

 My simple/brief advice to -newbies and lower rank-
+ DO/GIVE WHAT YOU HAVE OR KNOW: you are free to stock more on what you learnt to get more from it, when contributing lay it down by what you know/understand.
+ FIGURE OUT YOUR PROBLEM/STRENGTH/WEAKNESS: after you done with that work on-weakness- or with -strength-
+REACHOUT WHEN LOST: this has helped me when am lost/not sure or confused I reach out to very few others I can draw more to make my thoughts clearer.

I don’t really consider myself too knowledgeable really. There are others here far more lectured on all sort of topic. Regardless, just be yourself, and if you have time and interest in a specific area, read of the topic as much as you can.

The forum is not always a nice place, and the language can be a barrier at times to lay out thoughts in a clear manner, but the more lectured you are on a topic, the less other will lecture you on it, which makes it more bearable at times …

Read through this more times than I can remember/count and every single time is refreshes me. I want to just use my ranking to -Sr.member- as a point to rank below that it's possible, it just for you to get the ball rolling.

I won't want to beginning again with what the forum has changed in me, but I would appreciate everyone that has criticize, encourage, and even read my post.

This is a good idea, I have seen many newbies that do complain about the merit system of this forum, but I have always been seeing ranked members giving away merits, which means newbies they are wrong. And now, this is another good example. Many newbies do not just get how this forum work rightly, some can be lazy too but expecting high return from the forum. Although, this forum is not all about giving and getting merit but I focus on majority that want to rank up.

You have worked a long trip right from brand new member into full member, that is great, and I hope seeing you in senior member rank soon, if newbies can follow the good steps ranking up members are doing, they too will rank up. Some are filled with psychological progression which makes them not to go anywhere than being  newbies.

With the little I have known about this forum, it do not condone spamming, plagiarism and useless posts, if newbies can try and make authentic ones, and giving authentic answers to questions, they will easily rank up like you.

Many newbies do not just get how this forum work rightly, some can be lazy too but expecting high return from the forum. Although, this forum is not all about giving and getting merit but I focus on majority that want to rank up.

Not all of them are newbies (with less than 30 activities), many of them have hundred of activities (from bounty reports and spam posts) and they would have been Sr. or Hero members if the merit system had not kicked off in 2018.

They can not earn a single merit from their mindless spam works so that they complained. If they change they can earn merit, I have no doubt about the fact.

Everything will be easier if your intention is good. If you intend to learn and contribute, then for sure, you can do it. Lots of newbies even failed to earn single merit due to a lack of contributions. They don't care about forums or contributions, their major intention is just to earn money, to be honest. But you are an example of them who don't believe that it's impossible to build an account by learning and contributions. I have seen lots of newbies become Sr and Hero by their contributions.

So, I will suggest newbies who are struggling to become established members of this forum, fixed your intentions how you are going to contribute yourself. Share your best knowledge and experiences with the community and ask your problems and what you want to know. Share each other and help each other. Hope that's how we may build a better forum.

From my observation, there are so many accounts on the forum that from the way they started I expected them to burst into the limelight with their quality works. Take a look at your best works so far and ask yourself if that's the best you can offer. Not saying you're bad but I'm just saying there's more you're yet to deliver, dig deeper.

Most members becomes too comfortable when they reach a certain rank that their post quality begin to fade away. Signature campaigns also contribute towards this decline in post quality as they begin to find it difficult to meet their weekly post qouta at the same time delivery above average content on the forum.

I see you're close to ranking up, don't let that achievement overwhelm you. Improve on yourself but most importantly don't forget to enjoy the forum because that's all that counts. The more you enjoy the forum the more you get motivated to keep the forum moving forward either with your selfless works (spam, scam busting) or quality contributions.

You have come a good way, I looked at your merit history, it is really an honor.
Many times I see newbies complaining about the merit system because it is impossible to increase the rank.
But I notice one amazing thing. The more we give to the forum, the more we get.

I am glad when I see such topics, and it would be useful for all newcomers to read the posts of such people who quickly increased their rank on the forum. And accordingly, draw conclusions for yourself.

Of course there is a feeling of joy when we reach that phase because it is also successful. Thousand of user couldnt even get to this point and your quality and contribution have brought you to this point. Congratulation to you and the ranking will be coming to you as soon as your qouta merit is reached.

for the OP, you are among the members who are able to survive while in this merit system. You as a beginner are making a useful contribution to this forum. Unlike other newbies who are only concerned with the work of posting bounty reports which makes their accounts more likely to be spam than useful posts.

You may be a good example for other beginners who have just joined or have joined for a long time but have not experienced a rise in rank.

The more I look at this comment the less I agree with your point. So many high rank members don't take newbie replies serious, some think user behind newbie account are actually noobs and novice to crypto.
I know opinion and how we view projects differs but many newbie comments are ignored even when they try to contribute something constructive and unique. That's why you see many new post when they are not necessary.

Yesterday, I saw a thread where a newbie created a topic on how scam bitcoin could be, isn't that ridiculous.

Some big mistakes -newbies and low rank- makes
+ Taking/seeing harmless criticism as attack
+ Not ready/striving/willing to see those issues -critically pointed- and do something about them
Then the THE FORUM IS MEAN/HARD AND SO MUCH MORE  gets into their cranial nerves sending wrong messages to the brain.

+10 for this. If you came from a lower rank then you must consistently show that you deserved the rank. Dont stop putting effort on sharing and posting quality topics and response to those who are in need of help. Quota in signature is quite a pressured cooker. So I agree that it contributes to some users performance.

The merit system may seem hard especially for newbies, but if you will really work hard, it won't be a problem, though merit is not the main purpose of joining here in the forum. This forum is like give and take, share what you know and learn from others what you don't know.

Btw I also want to congratulate you in advance because you are close to being a senior member.  Like what I always say, you won't reach that rank or get that merits if you are not deserving of it. Keep inspiring other users with your effort and hope to see more of your contributions in the future.
