If you thought you were living a peaceful life anywhere in the central United States, here come the wealthy from the coasts. They are going to turn your peaceful, little world into a nightmare. Prices will go up.

A Mass Exodus Away From Big Cities On Both Coasts

Homelessness, crime and drug use were already on the rise in many of our large cities prior to 2020, but many big city residents were willing to put up with a certain amount of chaos in order to maintain their lifestyles.  However, the COVID-19 pandemic and months of civil unrest have finally pushed a lot of people over the edge.  Moving companies on both coasts are doing a booming business as wealthy and middle class families flee at a blistering pace, and most of those families do not plan to ever return.

Los Angeles is a perfect example of what I am talking about.  Once upon a time it attracted wealthy and famous people from all over the globe, but in 2020 it is "a city on the brink"…

Today, Los Angeles is a city on the brink. 'For Sale' signs are seemingly dotted on every suburban street as the middle classes, particularly those with families, flee for the safer suburbs, with many choosing to leave LA altogether.

British-born Danny O'Brien runs Watford Moving & Storage. 'There is a mass exodus from Hollywood,' he says.

This is expected to happen worldwide because of the pandemic and teleworking. If people can work from home and cities are no longer as attractive, this is normal to happen.

Indeed. Whilst I'm sure that city living will retain a lot of its desirability, it will certainly lose some if a large number of people are no longer required to work in city-centre offices each day. Hopefully this will trigger a levelling of opportunity and standard of living within each nation. We might expect house prices in cities to fall somewhat, and in cheaper areas to rise somewhat. We might also anticipate that the rural to urban 'brain drain' effect might be lessened. Longer-term, we may even see effects across continents or the whole world.

los angeles has been on the brink for many years
its not longer known as 'hollywood' because for decades now other states have been offering many businesses better tax deals if they move

many tv shows for the last 2 decades have been running from canada, chigaco, newyork
hardly any tv shows are produced in LA now

this aint a 2020 pandemic cause. this is a thing that has been happening for decades

.. whats not said in the article is the reason his business is booming in august. is because the average normal amount of people wanting to move in a normal march-july didnt move. so ofcourse august would see 5 months of business trying to happen in 1 month

EG
if 100 usually move in march
if 100 usually move in april
if 100 usually move in may
if 100 usually move in june
if 100 usually move in july

instead of seeing 200 'forsale' signs up around the city for 2 month average
they seeing 500 for sale signs all in one month

instead of having 25 people trying to move each week(over 5 months)
they are having 125 people trying to move in one week(over one month)

But it's getting cheaper and cheaper to live in LA.

Which downtown street corner would you like to pitch your tent on?

He has a portable satellite connection from his tent. But how does he recharge his batteries?
