It wasn't easy to find, but it's something I've suspected for a while.


There seems to be a wave of users copying and pasting text/image from Telegram channels. It's mostly analysis and charts.

Obviously needing to provide a proof verifiable by a moderator, TG conversations are not indexable by search engines, I do not think that a screenshot should be considered enough.

How to deal with it?

If you cannot provide proof which can be verified, you can't do much. If we are talking for plagiarisms, and the penitently is PERMABAN anyone can fabricate a fake "proof" and get you banned for nothing. So I think this will be a small door around the rules. That's what I think tho. Mods can give opinion as well.

Yeah unless you can get an ubfabricatable fingerprint from something like the Web version it's probably impossible.

If it's a public channel it's probably a lot easier to prove but still not easy as you'd have to stipulate unedited posts and I don't know if channels mark edited posts as they do in personal messages.

Take a link of that particular TG post, share the post link here. If moderator wants, they can verify that whether the post was plagiarized. I think this is the best option, howevee, I'm not sure if non registered user can access such message, in that case, this will not work.

Well, there could be a very slight possibility of the person who makes the post here is also the same person who posted on telegram, and there is too much verification and honestly, it is just not worth it. Its waste of Blood, sweat and tears(not really but ok).

Don't worry about it, if I were you, I would rather just go sleep.

Take a link of that particular TG post, share the post link here. If moderator wants, they can verify that whether the post was plagiarized.

This would only be possible in groups which are public, but would not apply to secret groups or private messages. Also messages on telegram can be edited/deleted and it isn't yet fully indexable, so proving the original source is going to be difficult.

If the prove cannot be verified then it should not be accepted, and if effected it would open a can of worms with lots of hugely debated appeal threads.

As we know telegram becomes a safe haven for scammers, so it would become a safe haven for plagiariser as well. It will be too complicated to verify and should matching forum & telegram time as well. Screenshots wouldn't help for telegram plagiarism since it's even easy to make fake conversations and edit as well. I can't see any easy way to prevent such plagiarism since it does not exist on the web.

meh those charts are made out of nowhere, credibility is zero so mostly people here think that it is just a self made chart, nothing much you can gain from it. Besides who else wanna give a self made chart a real readings?

you know how telegram for scammers work these days, I just use telegram for legit channels or just to read some announcement nothing more of looking some charts. pff.
